“Lovely, you get what you pay for”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

Just returned from a week at Lysithea. Ok so the room are a bit dated but if you want 5 star then pay for it!! They are cleaned every day with towels & bedding changed every 3 days.

The pool & bar area is lovely, plenty of sunbeds & tables & chairs, food ok, but our favourite was Diana restaurant along the road

Beach directly across the road - 2 sunbeds & brolly for 5 euros

The staff are friendly and helpful. The bus stop is outside with buses running frequently in to Larnaca for 1.5 euros.

You can get the 525 bus direct from the Airport to outside the apartments.

All in all good value for money

Room Tip: all rooms overlook the pool

The place is better than you get from the website photos. We stayed in an apartament (we didn't expect that). The hotel is just 3 minutes from the local beach ( 2 sunbeds and sunbrella 7,5 euros). Lysithea has got a nice swimming pool and a small one for the kids. The restaurant together with the bar is next to the pool. You can eat breakfast there. The staff is friendly and talkative:). You have to buy AC separately.

My partner @ I have just spent 2 wonderful weeks at The Lysithea. The room was was clean & well maintained as was the rest of the hotel, the pool area & bar were very nice & George & the staff were very friendly & made us feel most welcome. The location is excellent with shops, bars & tavernas all within easy walking distance. I would particularly recommend GI's bar & grill where Helen & her family cooked some beautiful meals - I had the finest pork chop I've ever eaten. Helen's son Greg served us with bubblegum vodka, a concoction of his own which my partner Claire got a serious taste for. Oasis bar & The Skylight Bar are also well worth a visit. All in all it was great time & excellent value for money.

The Lysithea is opposite the 'tourist beach' on the Larnaca/Dhekalia road. It is only 1 1/2 euros into Larnaca Bay on the local bus. The food is fine, pool is fine and the bar serves its beer in frozen glasses. The bar is elevated and gets a very nice breeze from the sea. Staff are very friendly. Rooms are cleaned daily but towels are only changed every three days or so. If you want a quiet, peaceful location this is the place. If you want a bit of nightlife there are several bars and restaurants down the road (ut the hotel and turn right) a few minutes walk away.

I would find it hard to understand any one who complains about these appartments. You get what you pay for. Ok they are basic. But hey you only sleep there. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly. They go out of their way to make you feel at home and if its not on the menu you only have to ask. The food was good and the cocktails very nice. The beach located just across the road, is beautiful, the sea was so warm. OK the hotel pools are pretty cold, but you get used to it. Plenty of sunbeds, rooms cleaned daily. George was so kind to us when we arrived in the early hours, he let us have our room even though we werent supposed to be able to have it until 2pm. Its in a great location, close to everything and not too far from the airport for transfers. I went with my daughter and will definitely be returning with my husband next year. Im sure someone will mention ants.... you only have to tell the cleaner and she will sort it, Apparently everywhere has an ant problem this year x

Room Tip: Depends what you like. We were ground floor and could just walk straight out to the pool. Loved it...

Just returned from a very pleasing trip to Cyprus and I can't wait to share my feedback for this wonderful aparthotel. The hotel choice turned out to be one of the majors of the whole trip. But first of all I'd like to thank George and Diane for all the welcoming approach and their impeccable hospitality! This was really great! But, back to the property and I'll try to be as specific and obgective as I can.
First, a little word about our party - we were 4 people (me, my husband, our little son (2 yrs 9 mths) and my mom (aged 55). We booked a 1-bedroom unit (sleeping up to 4 pax). As we had the baby with us, when booking I asked for the most quiet room possible, and yes - we were offered a wonderful room #201 - on the upper floor at the corner where no one bothered us and our little screamer did not bother anyone with playing and running around. Besides, there is a huge cedar tree growing at the balcony and it gave us much shade from the raging midday sun. And we had even partial seaview from there!

What is best about this hotel -
1) Location! It's only 7 minutes by car from Larnaca, very quiet and green area, with supermarkets and cafes nearby. A Cytanet cardphone booth right at the door, as well as the bus stop. But the buses are very scarce on Cyprus, so a rented car will be much better.
2) The beach! We travelled through the island from Paphos to Cape Greco and the beach right in front of Lysithea (across the road) seems to be the best! It's sandy, clean and not too much populated. There's also a pebbled area there a little aside. The sea here is perfect for kids - shallow and calm, but with areas with depth for the adults to swim. There's also a windsurfing station.
3) The property! It's is really cosy and homely. The territory is very green and well kept. A lot of friendly cats and kittens living at the premises:) Free parking. Free WiFi. Daily cleaning and change of sheets and towels twice a week.
4) There are 2 pools - one for adults and the other is for kids (50 cm deep).
The unit has all the basic cooking utencils and cutlery, the oven, the fridge, a toaster and a kettle.
5) The electricity adapters for standard EU plugs in all the sockets.

Now about some minuses, although there're a really few of them -
1) The red ants can't wait to stroll around the kitchen any time. No food can be left unpacked even for 5 minutes.
2) It would be nice if there was a sweeper and a shovel for floor dust and an ironing board.
3) The hotel wes build almost 30 years ago and refurbished, but still the age can be seen at places.

Overall I'm very satisfied with our holiday and would recommend Lysithea to anyone looking for calm and effortless getaway. George is really great and was very nice and helpful whatever we needed.
Clear 4 points for the very property and 5 points for hospitality!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on the upper floor to get some seaview.

Positive :
- the beach is across the street and it`s clean, clear and very warm ( it had 26 degrees in the period 28.09 - 05.10 )
- the area is very silent
- good price
- large open living room + kitchen
- nice, clean and green pool area

Negative:
- the bathroom needs to be freshen up
- the towels were not immaculate
- our friends found ants in their kitchen
- you can find cheaper supermarkets and restaurants in the centre of Larnaka then in this area
