“Wonderful Hotel, amazing views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

I joined my husband after a conference and we stayed in a seaview room from 8th-10th November.
The hotel is beautiful and all the staff we met were charming, especially the concierge, Boris. The room wasn't huge but fine for a couple of days with a powerful shower and good selection of amenities.

We had breakfast on the terrace with amazing views and a fabulous selection of food. We also had dinner in the main restaurant one night where the food was fantastic. Portions on the small side but extras in between the courses helped. Excellent wine list, brought on an ipad and our wine has never been poured more carefully or gradually. Staff were very attentive without being obtrusive. When booking check there are no conferences or large groups dining here as it would spoil the atmosphere.

Gym is well equipped, indoor/outdoor pool is superb but check opening times as some days it opened at 7am, other days at 8am.

We had a late flight home and were kindly given late checkout until 3pm then went to the spa for massages. The ambience is lovely in there.

The hotel is right at the Eastern end of Monaco but we walked or used the public buses that run every 10 minutes. We took the open top bus tour from right outside the hotel which was a great way to see the sights if the weather is good.

Taxi from Nice airport is around 110 Euros. The airport bus costs 20 each, runs each half hour and drops you right outside the hotel. Taxi back to airport fixed fee 90 Euros.

We loved our stay here and would love to go back when the sandy bottom lagoon is open !(May-Sep)

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Room Tip: High floor seaview

I won't stay anywhere else when I go again Monte Carlo. Excellent architectural design. I slept very good indeed.
The food is minimalist style, very delicious. Attentive staff.
Dry cleaning and the laundry worked a little bit late but it is acceptable.

Room Tip: Sea view preferably..

Great hotel, I really enjoyed there. And I wish if I stayed more.
Recommended for couples, honeymooners & solo travelers or to whom looking for relaxation and quite places.
The resort is in good location with great view, try to use the facilities in the hotel such as spa, indoor pool & beach of course.

Room Tip: try to book sea view its really worth it

Stayed for three nights as part of our honeymoon in Europe. The hotel was beautiful. Our balcony overlooked the ocean- absolutely stunning view. Staff was friendly and even set up breakfast early for us on our balcony on the morning we were leaving early. The food at the restaurant in the hotel is quite pricey and not worth it for what you get. The heated pool was wonderful.

Room Tip: Get a room on a higher floor overlooking the ocean.

Beautiful, but rather unspectacular hotel at the Eastern edge of Monaco. I stayed there for the F1 Grand Prix and it was about a 15 minute walk to the race course (Mirabeau & Portier), 30 minutes to the main attractions of Monte-Carlo. The rooms are not too big, but have a modern, bright, and spacious bathroom and a balcony with a breathtaking view over the coastline. The service is good and attentive but nothing special.

Overall a very good hotel but not as good as you would expect considering the price that they are charging. It is far away from being one of the classical luxury hotels.

I agree with most reviews that its a beautiful hotel but its a 4* at the most.
Infact I have stayed in many other 4*'s that were nicer at half the the price.
Being in Monte Carlo just gives them a license to charge ridiculous prices. Walk-in price for the cheapest room was €600!
Search around online travel agents and you will be looking to pay about half of that for a basic deluxe room (no sea veiw and during off season that is).
The decor in the lobby is very plush but the rooms were dissapointing, quite basic and although it may have been expensive furnishings it looks quite "ikea".
Nothing wrong with that except when you are paying these prices you would expect more.
They also seem to what to suck every penny out of you when you are there, €20 a day extra for wifi, €30 for a burger, €7 for a can of coke...you get my drift.

Majority of staff were very polite. Out of a dozen that I came across I would say 10 were friendly and helpful. We arrived at 2.30pm and we knew that checkin was 3pm but we tried our luck anyway. We ended up having to wait around till 4.30pm before our room was ready. No apology which was not a great start - ended up spending best part of €80 having lunch (for 2)in their restaurant (maybe it was a ploy).

Location wise its probably the furthest hotel away from the Casino square, about 25 mins walk or €15 taxi ride. They have free shuttles but they are few and far between and they run until 18.20pm which is kind of pointless seeing as its in the night time that you really need them. During day time its a nice walk down the sea front/F1 route anyway.

Breakfast was included, it was very nice and lots to chose from - selection of hot and cold food. You can sit outside overlooking the sea which was great.
Other food choices are pretty limited so best bet is to venture out for dinner.

Gym had a good standard of equipment, there was lots of it aswell.
Indoor pool was very large and had 2 jacuzzi. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Note that their lagoon is only opened during May-Sept.

Overall, ok stay. Not as amazing as other reports suggested.
Probably wouldnt stay there again.

stayed here for 5 nights on business. newer hotel on princess grace avenue at the far east end of monaco (france is literally metres away). beautiful view of the mediterranean which the hotel sits on. everything clean and in order throughout the hotel. if you can't handle running on the hilly streets of monaco and surrounding area, you can get a great workout in the up-to-date gym in the lower level. bar and restaurants were happening places even on weekdays - affordable by monaco standards. didn't stop by and play the slots at the attached casino but gamers might find it welcoming. staff was very courteous. technically "far" from the palace and other main attractions, but that's all relative as it took me about 30 min to walk from end-to-end of the city-state. would go back and stay here in a heartbeat.
