“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2008

We stayed at the Fairmont for one night only, but wish we stayed longer. The hotel was in a great location and we walked everywhere we went. Check in was very quick and easy. We arrived at the same time as many other guests and it seemed that staff continually appearead out of nowhere to check people in. The rooms were absolutely stunning. We had a sea view room and it was well worth it. We sat on the balcony, had drinks and looked out on the water. The room was very very clean and looked like it was recently remodeled. The beds were so comfortable and were equipped with very nice linens. The hotel has a big, nice lobby bar as well. There is also a casino in the lobby which was nice and fun to play in. We had breakfast at the foof top reataurant and it was well done. Cofee, juices, crepes, waffles, eggs, meat, and baked goods of all kinds were served. It was so nice to sit outside overlooking the sea and have breakfast. I would stay at the Fairmont again without thinking twice about it. I can't think of one bad thing about this hotel.

Stayed in the Fairmont in April 2008. Location is excellent just behind Place Du Casino. Room was bright and airy with patio door opening on to balcony. Our view was of the internal garden. Tea/Coffee making facilities and safe in room. Breakfast was good with a selection of hot and cold buffet. Everything was within walking distance of the hotel. We went to the main Casino one night but found it to have no atmosphere. The Casino in the Fairmont was excellent and there was a great buzz around it, we went there every other night during our stay (5nights). We found drink to be very expensive in the hotel and indeed everywhere in Monte Carlo but we did find McCarthys Irish Pub which was only a 5 minute walk from Hotel and they had a happy hour between 6 and 8 each night with all drinks being half price. There are two restaurants beside McCarthys serving excellent food at reasonable prices, one was called the Cosmopolitan, I cannot remember the other. I would highly recommend the Fairmont for location and service and will definately be returning there in the future

My husband and I spent three nights here. We've stayed a many Fairmonts and this one was up to par with any other we've stayed. The rooms were impecable. We stayed on the top floor with a sea view - request a sea side room.

The area in which the hotel is located is next door to the casino and upscale shops. Everything was VERY expensive in this area. I would suggest for a light lunch or light dinner venturing to another area of town closer to the dock. If you stay close to the Fairmont, you'll pay double what you'd pay away from that area.

We rode the bus system there, which was very easy and inexpensive - 1 Euro each way.

Overall the service was impeccable, rooms lovely, and staff were great.

One piece of advice - if you plan to go to the Monte Carlo casino, pack a jacket and tie. Both are required.

We stayed at the Fairmont Hotel at the end of April during the week the Monte Carlo Masters Tennis Tournament was on. The hotel was everything we hoped it would be and more. Our room was excellent, lovely and light and airy. The breakfasts were also great. We decided to eat in the hotel restaurant one night and the whole meal was excellent. The service was good and the views from the top floor restaurant spectacular. Quite expensive (but everything is in Monte Carlo) approx 175 Euro. The only one complaint I had was that our room was a long walk from the lift and even by the time we were checking out we had to think where we going the correct way each time we left or returned to our room. My advice would be ask for a room not too far from a lift. The staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The roof top pool was great, plenty of loungers.
I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Wow, wow, wow. This place is everything you would expect of a luxury hotel, and luxury in Monte Carlo is as good as it gets. From the moment of arrival, 5 star service kicks in and it just keeps getting better. The first thing that hits you is the scale of the place. Main public rooms are vast, light and airy with fabulous views over the sea. Bedrooms are also light and airy and well equiped. If you don't have a sea view, you will have a garden view which is really nice and peaceful. The view from the rooftop pool is stunning, overlooking the beach. Breakfast (in spring/summer) is served al fresco in the rooftop restaurant, also overlooking the beach on one side and onto the casino on the other. Staff are incredible and seem to be able to anticipate your every need. Every member of staff we passed, from check in, concierge to cleaners - always gave a polite bonjour greeting. If you are going to Monte Carlo then this is the place to stay. Great hotel, great location and great service. What more do you want!

Just returned from a dream holiday staying at the Fairmont for 7 nights. we booked through Hotelopia with a very good deal but did not include helecopter flights so we caught a bus from Nice Airport to out the hotel for 16euros each. we booked a 6th floor sea view room with balcony "fantastic" inclusive of breakfast. Our reason to visit Monte Carlo was to watch the Monaco Grand Prix Historic. Viewing from the hotel roof balcony overlooking the hairpin was the best viewing point on the circuit We were pleased we did not book the helecopter flights @ over 100 euros p.p each way as the terminal is on the outskirts of monte carlo- better to book for the excellant buffet breakfast on the top floor terrace overlooking the bay and harbour. Our room was very spacious and luxuriously furnished. tea and coffee facities were provided. The staff were very helpfull at all times ,our bed turned down and chocs laid out most nights! We dined out in the town every night. This has been our best holiday and most expensive! but then it is Monte Carlo. B.W Northumberland , England.

  • Liked — our fantastic room and breakfast on the roof terrace
  • Disliked — Prices of meals and drinks, but then no more expensive than other similar venues
