“A classy treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

Stayed here for three nights on our way from Paris to Nice.
Amazing hotel, with an upscale yet home-like feel, and which is close to everything you would like to do in Monte-Carlo. The Hotel de Paris is a must to visit, but tends to be somewhat more impersonal than the Metropole's more friendly, and boutique-like approach to french hotellerie.

A special treat for my wife's 50th with our 3 children.
Excellent experience making the reservation. Fluent English speaking staff.
After an initial hiccup with check in, our 3 night stay was a great experience.
From the 3 michelin star Joel Robuchon Restaurant and to the cosy family feel this is a must stay excellent 5 star luxury hotel. Others may prefer to be in the hotel next to the casino but I prefer this hotel as it feels like an oasis of calm away from the humdrum of the casino square and yet it is just a stone throw away from the Casino Square. With its own boutique shopping mall milling the time in the stores and retail therapy is an escalator ride away.
As a former hotelier this is one I would buy. Ideal for the discerning guest looking for intimacy and warm friendly staff who are most helpful and efficient in addressing guest needs. The front of house team, the concierge team, the valets, the restaurant team and the staff serving breakfast were all brilliant, warm and friendly - a breath of fresh air.
I look forward to returning to this great hotel and the staff who make it a treat.
Lastly thanks to the staff who made our stay most enjoyable.

Room Tip: Leave it up to the staff but we had a marvelous suite on the with an adjoining room with views of th...

A surprise treat from my Wife, a three night break at the Hotel Metropole, Monte -Carlo, coupled with a Helicopter transfer from Nice Airport to Monaco. On arrival at the Hotel booking in, was quick and easy, we were shown to our room on the 4th floor by a very charming member of staff, a quick run down of the hotel's amenities, all done with a smile which made you feel at ease straight away. The Hotel is grand in every way, but not at all reserved just for the very elite, although the Guest's staying in the Suite's would be classed as such I believe. We decided after the first night's failure to find a reasonable Restaurant, (an absolute disaster), to book the next two night's dinner at the Hotel. The Menu and prices clearly reflect the quality of the meals on offer. We were impressed with the service of all the staff, clearly trained to a very high standard. Likewise food and Wine excellent. Our room 408, on the forth floor was quite small. The Bathroom was very well appointed, regular changing of towels much appreciated by us, and the turn down service with slippers by the bed a nice touch. Highly Recommended for the service and overall quality.

Room Tip: Higher floors do have a reasonable view.

Stayed here from Sun Nov 03 through Wed Nov 06, 2013. Had a very good deal with breakfast included, in a Deluxe Junior Suite on the top floor looking down towards the long cypress-lined entry driveway, and towards the roof of the casino, Hôtel de Paris, and a sliver of the Mediterranean. Yoshi and Joël Robuchon were not open during this period.

First, the Deluxe Junior Suite was very nice, with a huge flat screen TV. The bathroom is spectacular with incredible massaging jets of water spraying in multiple directions, and toiletries by Hermès. The general feel is not too different from a previous visit in 2005 in a Deluxe category room with the same view, but on a lower floor; however, the balconies of the suite really made the room feel nostalgically French (...only if the décor was Louis XVI, it would have been perfect). The general look of Jacques Garcia's décor (mélange of classic, modern, and middle-eastern) created an overall pleasant, cozy, and cushy feel, although purists may find something to nitpick about. But the furniture, bed, drapery, carpet etc. exuded luxe...

Second, the service was absolutely and genuinely fantastic - much better than during the initial visit in 2005. Luxury service means people do care about making you comfortable and feel welcome. The reciting of names and all that are not really that important, as long as the staff know who you are, and remember your room to take things up for you without asking. The conciergerie and réception staff were quite wonderful in trying to help print out boarding passes, and even enter passport information on line. The portier staff was so friendly and caring. It was service beyond reproach...

Thirdly, the only meals taken was breakfasts (as Yoshi and Joël Robuchon were taking a break...). Here the service was a touch unpolished, inconsistent, confusing, and not as well organized s it should be; but nevertheless, it was overall quite satisfactory, and other attention to details had more than made up for any oversights. Excellent in general...

So what is the driving force for choosing Le Métropole? It's the gated, long cypress-lined driveway leading to the entrance, creating a "wow" factor upon arrival (sort of like the forbidden entrance to Hôtel Ritz-Paris...). Without the constant foot traffic from outside, the lobby represents a cocoon of quiet haven of "le privilège d'être comme chez soi!" (This is not to say that one should dismiss Hôtel de Paris or Hermitage - but these establishments have changed quite a bit in their feel over the years...). But the best reason really is the staff and the service. Just fantastic every way you look at it (granted, I speak French, but I really do not think this is the reason -they are very, very accommodating.)

Room Tip: Deluxe Junior Suite on top floor with view toward the driveway, casino, Hôtel de Paris and a sliver...

This hotel was offered through the American Express card program featuring excellent rates, upgrades, and 80 euros to be used on the hotel property. Fabulous accommodations and service. Views can be had of the Mediterranean, and Casino depending on your room. Breakfast included with the room was very elegant. Well worth the visit to to get a little taste of the rich and famous!

Stayed here during May with two friends. This hotel is a leading hotel in the world, let alone Monaco. It has fantastic design, architecture and the staff are trained impeccably. Every need you have will be fulfilled and every tiny detail they have worked on to ensure your stay is as perfect as it could be. The location of the hotel is right in the centre. The food tops it all with wonderful selection for breakfast and a dinner menu's that will make your mouth water.

It is a rare experience to stay in a hotel that offers such meticulous attention to detail and delivers such incredible levels of service. Yes, it is very expensive and the prices of items in the mini bar alone will make your eyes water but as people say, “this is Monte Carlo”.
The location of the hotel is perfect and literally just across the road from the Casino and, if like me, you are visiting the Grimaldi Forum you have a very short walk. The swimming pool complex is a beautiful and tranquil oasis and it is possible to take a healthy breakfast next to the pool in the mornings. The restaurant breakfast is superb although, make sure you get it as part of a room rate as otherwise Euro 40.00 per person is a lot to pay.

The evening turn down service is simply excellent—the maid will leave slippers next to your bed on a small mat, the juke box facility on the TV will be set to play soft classical music, subtle lighting will be left on and the room will be immaculate. Any towels used will have been folded or replaced.

In summary—if you are wealthy, you will love it and it is as good as any hotel you will find. If you are not wealthy, take a deep breath, see it as a very fine treat and love every minute you are there—the total hotel staff will do everything they can to ensure you are totally happily and satisfied.

Room Tip: Every room is excellent, only the view change.
