“A nice journey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

We had a pleasant lunch with good service. The restaurant was spotless and, around 1PM was lightly populated by some locals having business lunches. The food/dessert was good but not outstanding. The fun aspect comes as a result of Monte Carlos fantastic bus services. We docked in the port and bought a day pass, jumped aboard and road around taking in the sights. With on and off privledges you can't make a mistake, if you get off a a wrong stop just get back on. If lunching at Adagio you must set aside time to walk a few blocks to the park. After enjoying this beautiful spot you can get on an elevator and go down to the next level. Unbelievable! Great town.....

“good food, good wine, good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

We used google maps (from previous reviewer suggestion - thanks) no problem finding it. Loved the decor, all white with a modern contemporary feel. The waitor was very welcoming, very good with service throughout our meal. We opted for the set menu - good food at a reasonable price £75 for the two of us, this included our drinks. A little taster of swordfish before our meal was a nice touch and tasted good I thought my starter was amazing (tomato and olive salad) unexpected flavours and texture, very good. Beef main was good as was the creme caramel. Think if I was to return though I would go for indiviual courses rather than the set - although presented and cooked well the main and pudding just lacked a little something for me. Would I visit again, yes probably.
Just to mention we arrived early and thought we would get a drink beforehand but there are no wine bars near by! Bad planning on our part - go for the drink afterwards!

“Excellent restaurant tucked away from the crowds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

We visited Adagio for lunch on our recent visit to Monaco. Took us a little time to find the location as it is tucked up the hill but well worth it. We were greeted by a very nice gentleman who was very happy to help us with the menu in English. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. For anyone visiting Monaco, make sure to make this part of your trip!

“The type of restaurant we find worth the extra trouble in locating”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

Went after reading all the nice reviews from Tripadvisor. Chose it for the only dinner in our one night in Monte Carlo. Took care to familiarize ourselves with the location using Google maps and had no trouble finding it. We do concur with other reviewers about the rather unexpected and out of the way location. Not at all commercialized or touristy. Tried to phone ahead to reserve and asked about opening hours but line busy +++. Took a chance and walked from Hotel Novotel, taking about 20-25 mins. Arrived at 7pm and although the owner told us the opening time was normally 7:30, invited us in. Very congenial atmosphere and we chose the degustation menu which came with free appies. Had a very decent meal for 30€ pp and a drinkable Italian red for 25€. Lots of good home made bread. By the time we finished at 8:30pm only a few other patrons were there and all were locals. Menu mainly Italian flavoured with seafood bent.
We both felt that we'd rather have an evening like that than to gravitate towards the popular tourist zones.
