Columbus is chic on the cheap. Although, it's not really all that cheap. Internet connection worked, once you figure out it's mounted under the night-table, (where you are the least likey to put your laptop). Internet was pricey by North American standards (as 50% of hotels give free internet). Room was ok, showed minor wear, and weak planning, for instance the closet door blocking the bathroom, latches not working, blah blah. Good food though.

It was nice to have the shopping center/ grocery area within a 10 minute walk, although our next stay in Monaco will be closer to the center of the city ( Boulevard Albert ) it just wastes too much time walking to the center of the city ( 30 mins ) and another 15 to walk to the casino. David Coultard wasn't overly-gracious, which may have something to do with being on team Red Bull, and wait till you check out the crazy garage.

We stayed in the Columbus for 1 night on the 16th December. I thought the service was excellent and the staff extremely professional and friendly. I loved the contemporary design and although the room was on the small side it was very well appointed. We also had breakfast at the hotel and this was of an excellent standard. Overall the hotel is excellent value for money given the location and I would defiantly stay at the Columbus again.

We stayed at the Columbus for my husband's birthday. We stayed in a delux double room with sea view. We had total sea view which was wonderful and the room was spotlessly clean with all that one would expect from a luxury hotel. The staff were very helpful and cheerful and very professional. I cannot fault this hotel at all. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was superb and outstanding quality. The breakfasts were extremely good and was not a problem when we requested our croissants to be warmed. We would recommend this hotel.

From reading one of the previous reviews, I can honestly tell you that person couldn't have stayed at the same hotel we did. The Columbus was fantastic and for the price even more so. I travel extensively, and for the price we paid, approx $250 night, you would be staying in a much inferior hotel in Paris or New York. Being it is in Monoco, you should be paying three times this rate, especially for what you get. My wife and I stayed here for one night for our 25th anniverary and when we arrived we were greated by a very friendly staff. The front desk is staffed with some of the friendlist people I have met. Our room, although not overlooking the water, was perfect. The room was furnished in excellent taste and it was comparable to a four star hotel anywhere on this planet. The room had a full stocked minibar, TV with pay movies, stereo and the bed was typical of the beds at a Westin. From our balcony we experienced seeing the helicopters land and take off every 5 minutes from the heliport just outside the hotel, thank God this ends at around 9pm till 9 the next morning. Overall, this hotel is a gem in an incredibly overpriced environment Just outside the hotel, one can walk through the rows and rows of mega yachts. I strongly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to experience Monoco in the high life and not getting ripped off.

Having read all the favorable reviews of this hotel we could not have been more disappointed by what can only be called a second rate hotel at luxury prices.

Booking at Euro 200+ per night we were shown a very small room with a partial view of the sea and a great view of cranes and neighbors. Not wishing to stay in this room we were shown many others and very poor and spare bathrooms, frugal furnishings and terrible views spoiled all except one moderate sized suite offered at 500 per night. Acceptable. but at 500 Euro per night does one expect a bathroom that seems more approrpiate for Holiday Inn? Even in rip off Monte Carlo this was shocking.

Ate in the "popular" dining room which despite some very cordial and friendly service provided a cuisine bereft of any identity. Kinda Italian and kinda mediocre. Wine prices were outrageous. 60 Euro for a bottle of Domain Ott Rose.

On a positive note the front desk staff and management could not have been nicer. I pity them having to put up a brave front that they have a quality hotel. Additionally the location and scarcity of taxis makes the hotel rather isolated.
