I, my son and granddaughter of 9 stayed in Piolet´s Park and Spa for one week, from sunday to sunday on HB bases. We found the service and accommodation very adequate. The locasion is exellent especially as we were able to keep our ski equipment in lockers at the gondola lift so we were spared carrying them up the hill, even though it is just a short walk. Comments I have read about this hotel do not do it justice and especially the food as there was new menu with exellent choice of different delicaties every day from the buffet. Thank you Piolet´s Park for making our stay so plesant. Hildigunnur Thorsdottir from Iceland

The Park & Spa is further down the road from the other Piolet hotel in Soldeu. Our room was to a high standard of finish, clean, included a small kitchenette, and with a great view from the balcony over towards the Gondola.

The ski rental shop was okay, there was a mix up in the hotel minibus to the lifts when someone else took our skis but the shop just replaced them free of charge.

Earlier comments on this site about charges for the spa... this is clearly stated in the foyer and lifts (3 euros for children and 7 euros for adults). I think the issue is though that some people were led to believe that they had already paid as part of their package.

The buffet food was pretty poor... and invariably cold as already mentioned. It's best to wait by the central servery as a chef is constantly cooking meat dishes and you can get food as its cooked from here.

Most of the staff were approachable and helpful, to be fair they did seem to have to put up with a lot of 'abrasive' guests who assumed that everyone should be fluent in English... why should they? This is Andorra not England. The staff we spoke to were always very helpful.

The bar area is okay, with evening entertainment if you like that sort of thing. We didn't hang around for long though as the smoke was intolerable... not nice for non-smokers or families with children.

The hotel minibus does a constant circuit between the hotel carpark and gondola (about a 15 minute round trip including drop-off and pick-up). Queuing at the end of the day was a bit distraught with the tendency for queue jumping.

In all, not a bad hotel... think I'd try the Sport Village though next time in Soldeu.

Just returned from a fantastic familiy ski trip to Soldeu.Unfortunately the same can not be said for the Piolets Park and Spa !
The hotel is only a short walk from the main Gondola and is readily accessible to the shops and bars.
We had two interconnecting rooms on the top floor which were clean and generally in good condition.
The food however was shocking.
At best the "hot food" was luke warm and at worst stone cold. Not exactly what you want after a long day on the piste.
Our kids 9,10 and 13 used the pool on several occassions and were being charged each time to buy a swim cap !! The attendant also tried to charge them twice for a pair of goggles. When i complained to the manager he apologised and explained it was due to the language barrier !!!!
Fortunately the skiing was so good it didn't ruin the holiday but we will never go back to this hotel.Be warned.

We have just returned from staying at this hotel. It was an incredibly relaxing break. The hotel is excellent and we will stay here again.

The rooms are large, clean, attractive, well kept and usually well serviced. The balconies have great views and are a good size. Our room had nice laminate flooring, was well decorated and a very high standard bathroom with an excellent shower over a large bath. We found the rooms to be the best that we have ever seen in four star hotels.

The bar area is large and there are also a large number of sofas in the huge foyer for sitting and a second area away from the bar with tables and chairs. Drinks are not that expensive. It gets quite busy in the bar and sometimes drinks are prepared inconsistently e.g different amounts of spirits or different strengths of sangria or cafe con leche.

The lunch packs are generous and usually include two drinks, sandwiches, yoghurt, fruit and sometimes something else e.g pastry. Occasionally items were missing as if they had been prepared in a rush. But on a positive note they were free with our holiday and you could order them for whatever pick up time you liked (even 8am) which was excellent if you had planned a days walking.

Both breakfast and dinner are buffet style and there is an excellent range of food available. It is sometimes difficult to choose what to have because so many things look good. The advantage of buffet style of course is that you can go back for seconds or try again if you don't like something! Fish is particularly prevalent at dinner although there are always alternatives. A chef is constantly show cooking so you can order steaks, omelettes etc. There are lots of staff available.

In the evenings there is some entertainment for children on some days. This kept our six year old happy. There is also a play room with soft play equipment which is sometimes opened.

Not all the staff speak English although some do excellently. Those that do not try very hard to communicate and they are mostly successful.

The swmming pool is indoor and usually warm although there is a tiny pool outside which bubbles! There is a small children's pool. Swimming hats are required so take some with you. Room towels are not supposed to be used in the changing rooms and towels are not provided free - you need to pay or take your own (or the room ones secretly). There is a large jacuuzi and outside sitting areas for sunbathing. The pool gets busy with children. Swimming is free. Spa treatments are paid for as you would expect.

The hotel is a ten minute walk from the telecabin from the top of which there are good views and walks up to some of the high ski points, however this wasn't a problem and the advantage of the hotel being on the edge of Soldeu is that it is lovely and quiet and has really good views.

Overall a brilliant hotel in a good setting.

i have stayed in many of soldeus hotels, so was realy looking forward to staying at this new spa and luxery hotel. We had asked fo twin rooms for us and our twin girls, but only got one small cramped room, so was not off to a good start. The hotel provides ski hire for its clients, but found them to be rude and made one of our girls cry on the first morning! After a good days skiing we returned to have a spa and swim, only to be charged for using the facillities, some of which were out of use for all of the week and we had to pay for swimming hats, when it was their policey that you had to wear one! It was my birthday that night and the rep had arranged some champane to come to the room, which did not arrive till the night before we left and then they charged us for it on checkout!!!!! The food was not as good as most of the hotels in soldeu that i have stayed in over the many years i have been skiing here and the staff were not helpful and freindly at all. You had to pay for everything on top of the price you had already paid, so most nights went off to another bar or hotel because the drinks were so expensive in the bar there. Would go back to the other hotels i have stayed in, like sport village, as is better value for money, more freindly, better food and bigger rooms. Shame, as the hotel itself was clean and very well done out, but for being "so out of the town", needs to improve for people to go back there.
