“Fantastic!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Just got back from a week staying at Hotel Bruxelles. It was our two sons first skiing trip. What a fantastic time we had!! We had a family room up in the attic, which means there are only skylight windows, but it was huge compared to most four bedded hotel rooms. It was spotlessly clean, with a fantastic maid service every day.
The food is wonderful, with huge portions - just what you need after a day on the slopes. There is a set menu, but if its not what you fancy there are other options available. Our two fussy sons always found something that they liked!! At breakfast time there is a good selection of cereals, croissants, toast, fruit, yoghourts etc.
The hotel pays for ski lockers at the gondola station, which is only 5 minutes walk. This saves trying to walk too far wearing awkward ski boots, and carrying skis and poles. Really important if you have kids, as poor Mum and Dad usually get lumbered trying to juggle and carry all the equipment!!
The staff were all brilliant and friendly - nothing was ever any trouble for them.
We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to all. There was quite a mixture of families, young and older couples staying at the same time as us, who all had a great time too.
We will definitely be returning here - very hopefully next year.
A huge thank you to all the staff, for making our first family skiing holiday so fantastic!!

Although rated has a 2 star I think this will probably only be because it doesn't have a lift . Because it excels in every need, the location couldn't be better , our room literally faced the avet World Cup run, and our friends faced the Aspen bar, which from other reviews people claim is noisy, they had no complaints with noise at all.

Gondala is literally a 2 minute walk, like everything else on resort.

The rooms were cleaned and fresh towels every day, really polite cleaners!

The food was excellent, if you wasn't happy with the half board offerings you can simply upgrade. The steak we had was fantastic.

The service and atmosphere of the hotel is very good. We literally had no complaints.

Will stay here again without a thought.

The snow this year was immense 2.

We booked this hotel for our 1st ski trip for myself, wife and son(10yrs)through Nelson after looking at all the others available and via the reviews went for the Bruxelles. It did not disappoint for the money,as others have said you get a small room but you only sleep in it so fine and was clean with good bathroom. We had end room at back during stay just before Easter which was quiet but make sure you don't get front room unless you like going out until late as you will get noise from Aspen bar opposite(which is nice bar with pool tables upstairs).
Meals were good with options if you dont like set meal(as we had dinner inc in package)and a la carte looked good with lunch times and evenings very busy.Service is good from all who work there.
Being close to the gondola station is great as you will be in around the middle of the village and we got ski locker free via hotel which is another plus.
For a first time ski trip you probably wont get better for money than Andorra/Bruxelles hotel.
Any questions please contact .

It is definitely worth the quick ski back down the mountain for lunch. Juicy burger or lovely fresh pizza much nicer than the crap sold for twice the price up on the pistes.
Their set menu in the evenings is great too, and the staff are lovely!

We stayed for a week in February. fab hotel - great food and service. Also had free ski lockers by the gondola which was a real plus. So much snow and had a great time. Rooms small but perfectly adequate. We stayed as a package and every meal was good. Also very popular with locals.

Room Tip: Second floor better

Stopped for lunch rather than the plastic fast food from the cafe's on the slopes.
You will pay the same and get massively more for your money so please do give it a try. The homemade hamburgers are too die for.
The Hotel gets quite busy at lunch because of it's repuatation for great food.
Beware the portions are large :-) Which will weigh you down on the pistes in the afternoon.
We were that impressed we are looking to book to stay at the hotel next year !

Room Tip: This was a lunch time meal only, we haven't stopped at the hotel

Soldeu is not a pretty place but the Bruxelles at least nods in the direction of an Alpine vibe. We stayed for a week on a Nielsen ski holiday and had an excellent time.
The hotel is spotless, seriously clean, no mean feat in the snow! Our room (17) was at the back with views over the mountain and world cup slopes and we had no problems with noise....other than the usual 3am party folks......The food on the set menu was decent, not exceptional, but the steak upgrades were cooked beautifully and it was good carb heavy fodder, perfect after a day on the slopes.
A few niggles.......as many people have mentioned you won't be allowed to linger at a table, the restaurant/bar was packed and we were moved on a couple of times.....the staff grew friendlier as the week progressed but brusque wouldn't be inaccurate.....but, overall would be more than happy to stay again! Good value.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter and have mountain views.
