“Very very good!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014 via mobile

Fantastic, spacious, clean apartments with excellent very helpful staff. Our son unfortunately suffered an injury during this trip and the hotel staff were very helpful with emailing and faxes to the insurance company etc etc. Best place I've stayed in Andorra.

We stayed half-board at this hotel in Arinsal during the later half-term at the end of February 2014. The holiday was booked with TUI company Crystal Ski and competitively priced with the option for 2 adults and 2 children to go half board only an extra £200 in total. When booking we asked to be away from Après due to the age of our children (although Arinsal is not the main Après ski resort in Andorra anyway).

The hotel is ideally located a 2-minute walk from the main gondola lift to the slopes with the back-door having a convenient secure room to store your skis, boards etc. It does not have a gym or a swimming pool but does have an excellent supermarket (reasonably priced) and a fantastic little restaurant / bar where we ate our included meals. Also attached is an equipment hire shop (that we used without issue) and an average priced ski shop (very convenient if you are hiring your equipment as it was open on the night of our arrival to give the full next day to ski).

Check-in was easy with the receptionist speaking excellent English and providing useful info on buses to other resorts etc. The reception is not 24 hours but help is available on a telephone if needed. Our room was 105 which can be seen on the hotel photos with the large windows. The room was very big with a large kitchen / dining area with a sofa bed (used for our kids) and TV (only Spanish / French TV or BBC World News) just offset. The bedroom was a good size with a double bed and ample storage (although only a handful of coat hangers). The bathroom was large with 2 sinks, toilet, and shower / bath with jacuzzi (I recommend filling the bath and using the jacuzzi to clear it out and then empty the water before using it yourself just to ensure the parts the cleaner couldn't access don't provide any surprises!)

The restaurant is called The Polar Base and was excellent. Breakfast options are what you would expect BUT it is all freshly cooked and prepared for you - the staff will go out of their way to make sure that they can cater for you. Tea / Coffee / Orange etc are included. Evening meals were of equal excellent quality cooked for you and to your liking. 3 different options were provided each night for each course (with a vegetarian option too) and the option of something else was always available and without issue for the staff. We had great cuts of meat (steak, chicken and pork) with options of sides ranging from healthy to chips!!! Drinks were not included on the evening but were reasonably priced (I recommend the house Rioja). The staff were very friendly and gave the feeling that nothing was an inconvenience (I needed my Argentinian steak cooking a little more and it was sorted in moments).

There was a bad point though - the noise on an evening. Not from the hotel but from The a Derby Irish pub opposite which is open (and noisey) until 2am. Many of the punters have to smoke outside and screams and shouts were common every night until 2am impacting on our sleep quality. I complained to our rep but the rooms were all full and we couldn't move - the rep did say this was unusual and blamed the noise on a particularly rowdy group that week. Whilst this was a problem for us I know that guests in rooms at the opposite side of our hotel did not have any noise problems and thus I would strongly recommend asking for a mountain side room rather than a street side (unless you're going for the après in which case this will not bother you).

The important question - would we stay there again? Yes and we intend to next year but I will email the Sant Moritz first and secure a mountain side room!

Room Tip: Ask for mountain side if noise is an issue as there is an Irish theme pub opposite some of the rooms...

Booked the St Moritz apartments as a result of reading trip advisor and returned today Sunday 2nd March 2014 having spent the last week there. This was a lovely apart hotel, very clean and the rooms were very spacious having everything we needed as far as kitchen facilities are concerned. We stayed on a half board deal with Crystal ski and the food was provided in the Polar Base bar underneath the apartments, I must mention the Male Chef who did our breakfast daily and the female Chef who cooked our evening meals as both were exceptional in food quality and service with a smile. In the evenings the waiter Allain was very friendly and looked after us with a smile despite our large presence being somewhat trying for any Waiter!. The building is located two minutes from the gondola to the ski resort and alongside a mountain river which is very peaceful from the balcony on the rear mountain facing rooms. Part of our group were staying at the front of the hotel and were kept awake by revellers at the Derby Irish bar opposite, this must be said was the only downside and our room personally was at the rear and afforded us a sound nights sleep every night.
This apart hotel was one of the better ski locations I have stayed at and this was supplemented by the exceptional service provided by the catering staff in the Polar base and Polar Bar and reception. Within the building is both a ski rental and supermarket and if you self drive then garage facilities are available. Ski lockers are free of charge in the building. I will most certainly look to go back for a winter ski holiday and may even convince my family to go back this summer!

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view room for a better nights sleep. Some rooms also have a jacuzzi bath although...

This was our first trip to Andorra and we choosed to stay in Arinsal and in St. Moritz. We where very happy with that chooise. The apartment was well sized, clean and had all the equipment we needed. Grosery stoore and ski rental in the same bulding made everything very convinient. The apartments is very close to the gondola and there are several restaurants close by. The staff was very nice and helpful. If we go to Andorra again we will defently book our stay here again.

Ideal apartments and very well located close to the ski lifts and town centre. Apartments are clean, staff are friendly and rooms well sized. Good choice for a family. I have used these apartments several times now.

Just returned from a week in Arinsal. Stayed in Sant Moritz apartments, had a 2 bedroom appartment for 4 of us. Could have slept 5, very spacious. Large bathroom with bath and shower. Balcony view down mountain, lovely for lunchtime meal. Reception below staff very helpful, also above supermarket for supplies. Location excellent centre of resort less than 5 minutes to gondola. Great place to stay off back next year!

Room Tip: Also have rooms with jacuzzi bath have to request.

We have just spent a fantastic Christmas skiing in Arinsal while staying at the Sant Moritz Apartments. Reception were very welcoming and helpful. We had a one bedroom, one bathroom self catering apartment with fold out beds in the living room. It was spacious, warm and absolutely spotless.
The kitchen had everything you need to prepare breakfast and small meals. The bathroom was luxurious and the large corner bath was a welcome addition after a long day skiing. Free wireless was also a bonus. The locker room to store skis and boots had easy access and was very secure.
The apartments are in a superb location. The ski hire shop, supermarket ,restaurant and Polar Bar were simply downstairs and could all be reached without going outside. The supermarket was fantastic; very reasonable and well stocked. It is only a short walk to the gondola and all of Arinsal's great bars and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the Irish Derby just across the street.

We couldn't fault the San Moritz in any way and are planning on returning next year with extended family.
