“Excellent value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2012

I was looking for new sea fishing venues so I booked the Marion for one night as the price was right and close to the sea.
My first, and lasting impressions are of an old family run hotel. Imaculatley clean. Widows one could not see the glass they were so clean.
The room likewise, with a balcony, table and chairs overlooking the gardens.
The bathroom needes refurbishment but plenty of hot water, soap and towels.
The usual Cypriot breakfast found in 5 star hotels enjoyed on tables covered in crisp, ironed white and red linen.
Value for money? Very much so. I will be back.
John G

Room Tip: Ask for room with sea view. Overlooks the very pretty garden drinks bar and swimming pool.

We were due to stay here for 2 weeks but lasted 2 nights. The owners were really odd, he was the Mayor of Polis, and to get our room key we had to help ourselves while they watched TV(at least their's worked)

Could not sleep due to the horrendous noise of the birds in the wall ivy.

We rang the rep to explain that my wife felt really uncomfortable staying there, with very odd people wandering around. In fairness I think she knew the problems and moved us to a private villa in a nearby village......it was fantastic.

Having said all this the resorts of Polis and Latchi are absolutely lovely.

Go to the area but avoid the Marion like the plague.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else

We booked this hotel because it was one of the few hotels open in Polis during winter, and for one night it's ok, but I would not stay there longer.
The hotel needs a complete renovation - rooms, bathrooms, elevators; everything is original from the 60s/70s.
TV didn't work, the elevator looks like it's going to stop working soon, and the bathroom was really outdated. The shower didn't work well and there were hairs on the bathroom floor.
The only positive things were the sea view from the balcony and the bed. There is no heating, you have to heat via airconditioning, which is noisy at night.
The price was really low - but so was the comfort level. In my opinion, it's better to stay in one of the other cities in Cyprus like Larnaca or Limassol where you can get a comfortable room for just 10€ more.

We stayed here earlier in the year for a few days as a change from the bustle of Paphos. We found the hotel to be clean, friendly and very relaxing. It is an old hotel and as such gives you the real feel of Cyprus and Cypriot hospitality. The pool area was lovely and the location was ideal for visiting the northern west coastline - short distance to Latsi and the harbour. Would visit again

Room Tip: Request a high floor for the best views - there is a lift

Once you visit Marion Hotel in Polis, Paphos, you have to know that you will stay in a simple clean hotel with no special facilities. Nice pool, satisfying breakfast options and very polite host, the owner, Mr. Michalakis.

I don't think I need to say much because it's already been said..so just to hit the main points. Overcharged for a run-down MOTEL. Rooms were in definite need of a face lift with decor from the 70s. Also, there was just this odor that made room so unbearable. And the owner, what a mean, rude person he was. Apparently, we weren't the first people to complain, so please do something about your motel. I don't understand how an establishment like this is able to keep running.

dont go there!! the ower has the worst attitude ever and he tried to rip us off. it is overpriced for what is offering!!! the owner gives whatever price he wants depending on the customer.there is no standard price. he gave us a very big price like we were going to stay at a 5 star hotel while its only 2 stars.
