Fantastic place. Vaz and Julie are perfect hosts. The food is wonderful, and loads of it- I couldn't finish all mine. If you do not eat a lot I would recommend skipping the starters, though the mixed starters with pitta bread are to die for. All freshly made, and have never tasted pitta bread like it. Julie's desserts are all home made and wouldn't like to say which is best. I noticed that at least one of your reviewers commented on the fact that the Halfway House is not open in the evenings. Actually this is not strictly true. We asked Vaz why he was not open in the evening and he told us that his wife had been rushed into hospital for an emergency operation, therefore he was unable to stay open in the evening like he usually does so that he could have some time with his wife. Also it is to be remembered that Julie is one of the mainstays of this establishment and does most of the cooking herself, though the father Jack also does his fair share. A definite on our hot list. The outside seating area is very relaxing under the vines.
