“Not too bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

The hotels taxi picked me up from the airport exactly as pre booked. Got to my room on the ground floor which was excellent. Big, well equipped kitchen, DVD player and 2 tellys. But it had a shower where the brochure said Jacuzzi bath. There was a Jacuzzi on the outside patio that had not worked for a couple of years. I had sole use of 3 patios right next to the pools and looking out to sea. You could see others looking at me with all this raised area to myself, thinking I must be the owner. The inclusive buffet breakfast was always very good. If you got up to get another roll when you got back they had cleared your table away, so if you are on your own take a bag or something with you to leave on the table to show you had not gone.
As the hotel was quite remote, many used the restaurant for their evening meal, mainly if they had kids, I tried it once but was not very good. There was also little to no entertainment. A bloke on the bars piano a couple of evenings. The hotel bar was always empty.
Once I got the hang of where the free Hot Tub and steam room was I was quite happy. The staff were very good and helpful and the room maids did a very good job. Take a bit of washing powder with you and washing up liquid. There is a shop on site which was adequate.
There was an Indian restaurant at the top of the site entrance which was very good.
As you walked back into Katos there are many excellent restaurants and bars, all spoke English, Cypriote and Russian. The weather was lovely so it was a good holiday.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a suite

This was our first visit to Cyprus and we enjoyed the whole trip very much. Not least because of the accommodation we experienced at this hotel. We found our suite to be large, airy and well equipped, though the beds were a little firm. The rooms were cleaned meticulously every day as were all areas of the hotel and we thought the staff were charming and very hard-working. The pool and beach area is well designed and provides plenty of room, shade and recliners for large numbers of guests. We went Half-board and thought breakfast was particularly well done, offering a vast range of fruit, cereals, cooked items such as sausages, bacon, fried bread, tomatoes, limitless tea and coffee, and freshly cooked eggs, omelettes, waffles and pancakes. Dinner was not quite so special, though, but then who goes to Greece for the cuisine? As a base for exploring, this location would be hard to beat, whether dependant on public transport, which is convenient and cheap, or in a hire car. We walked into Paphos a few times, once along the beach - a bit of a slog when hot!- and a couple of times down the main road, which takes about half an hour, or considerably longer if you stop at any of several watering holes en-route. One highlight of our holiday was an evening horse-ride near Lysos. Look out for their flyer.

Room Tip: Book early for great value deals.

We decided to get married in a little private taverna in the mountains and treat ourselves to a slightly more luxurious hotel to stay the rest of the time, and we could not have chosen better than Capital Coast. The little extra that we spent on upgrading to a superior suite was so worth it, the room was enormous! The maids were amazing, so thorough. Not that we ever saw them, they're like little elves that sneak in when you pop out haha!
When we arrived very late the first night, we had no supplies because all the shops were shut but the lovely lady behind the bar Maria gave us some milk, sugar and teabags.
Our friends who travelled over for the wedding stayed here too and they were delighted. The pool is great, and there were plenty of sun loungers. It's very relaxing, no loud music and very few screaming kids.
I would probably say it may be worth spending a tiny bit more than we did to go for a sea view, our room had a balcony over the lobby which didn't really bother us because we got the sun in the morning to enjoy our breakfast. But if you're more of a sunset person maybe go for sea view room. Loved everything about the hotel, would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a superior suite, they're huge! Sea view if you love sunsets

Excellent over all holiday. Worth the money. Shop around if doing flights separate felt I got stung by jet2. My nephew MICHAEL TAOUXIS got married in the mountains & both English families & guests stayed here. For 1€ you can go to either carol bay or paphos on the bus. No entertainment at hotel... Blessing in disguise??

Room Tip: My nephew got married in the mountains & all the families stayed here. No entertainment but for...

We have booked a one-bedroom suite and it was amazing. Great sea view room, awesome breakfast and polite staff, always willing to help. Suites are very large. The drawbacks are the dark long corridor and that the breakfast starts at 8:00 am and to get pool towels back starts at 10:00 am (both too late if you have an early flight) . All in all, a great experience. I would highly recommend it and would go there again.

After raving the last time I stayed here decided to have a four day break and I must admit I was hugely disappointed.

There was no entertainment of any description either during the day or evening, the breakfast quality wasn't as it was last time, perhaps a change in chefs and or quality of ingredients.

Suites although very spacious are looking a bit worn in the furniture department with the sofa being very badly marked and the beds being extremely uncomfortable.

Food quality and choice reasonably good at the pool bar and the staff always appear to be happy.

Plenty of beds around the pool although its best to be down early to secure with a towel, great pool facilities.

Staff still lovely especially in the evening bar.

Would need to buck up there entertainment and quality of food before I would consider returning.

Room Tip: A pool view room gives you both the pool and a sea view. Well worth it

we are couple who is in 20s who actually shouldnt even be there. Our trip to Cyprus starts on monday 11pm. It was raining in london.. so we decide escape to sunny place. Tuesday 8pm we was in Paphos already. Sitting in airport checking booking.com - Capital Coast was number 1 in our list. Very good 4* !!! we book double room with sea view, 11pm -reception check in. Instead of double room got executive suite, and this is the moment where all magic began ! Suite was very big and very clean.. we had 2 terraces ( suite 101.1) it was amazing . the view , the sound of waves at night ! very bright suite with stunning view in the evening. We liked everything in the hotel. nice pools for childrens & adults . plenty of sunbeds.. you can find free in anytime !!! nice jacuzzi and indoor pool . we loved saunas. spa should be great as well. the only thing what bring big - to this stay was Juice on breakfast.. instead of this coloured water they could offer clear water to the guest.. no cheating and much healthier then this. overall very nice and friendly hotel. after this one we move to hotel Almyra 5* and extended one more day/night in Paphos (stayed in Roman hotel 3* ) the best pools and facilities for guest definitely was in Capital Coast resort !!
