We have just arrived home after a third brilliant visit to the Aura Holiday Villas. As usual the Karayiannis family, who own and personally run the villas, went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us. Yiorgos (George) and Fiona will be the people you will be in contact with when you enquire about the villas. They take day to day responsibility for managing the villas and you will see one of them on site at some time every day. They are happy to provide recommendations on restaurants and places to go based on their personal experience and from advice gathered from previous guests.

The villas themselves are spacious, and are very well equipped and maintained. They are ideal for families or for couples looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday. Other reviews describe them and their location well.

We first visited in 2006 about 12 months after they first opened and we returned in 2007. We had a gap year in 2008 when we visited relatives in Canada and were looking forward to our return to the villas this year. When we were there we couldn’t help but notice that three villas were occupied by families who were there when we were in 2007. I knew that Yiorgos and Fiona’s objective when they opened was to provide a service people would wish to return to. They have certainly achieved that as in addition to these families I personally know three families who live close to me who are repeat visitors. We certainly intend to be back next year.

I have just returned from my 5th visit to the villas, we have the "honour" of bieng the first visitors back in 2005, as seen in photos at the pool. I went out on the 4th of July and returned home on the 28th. Was it too long, absolutely not. This time we had our 22year old, twin 14year olds and 9 year old with us. The way the villas are set up allowed everyone to have their own space which was great for us. The facilities and equipment are 2nd to none. We have visited the villas at different times of the year and can say the reception and friendship shown is always of the highest standard. There is no doubt that Yorgos and Fiona don't look on the people staying as holiday makers but as part of the family, there is nothing that is too much trouble. Fiona arranged for us to have our photographs taken at a local studio which apart from bieng very reasonably priced were excellent. Hooray for airbrushing.

I have recommended the villas to several of my work colleagues who have returned for the past 3 years. There is no doubt that this is in no smallpart in the way guests are treated by all the staff. The villas and grounds are immaculately maintained by Nadia the most helpful maid I have met and Michealos, Yorgus' brother, who has to be the hardest working person in Cyprus who carries out any maintenance work and the regular pool checks, he is also helped by his father who tends to the gardens.

In the past few years several more supermarkets and restaurants have opened up nearby which have added to the local ammenities. Both Yorgus and Fiona can and will recommend restaurants etc.

We are already planning for next year as we still have to stay in villas 1,2 and 6.

It is imposible to sum up all the positives, it is probably easier to list the negatives;
1) NONE.

The Villas is wonderful, clean and has everything you need for your stay, anything you haven't got just ask george and it 's there for you. George and his family are very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble, george is usually on site after 3pm everyday, he is easily contacted by phone if you need him before 3pm, the Villa is air conditioned, there is no maid service unless you stay for 2 weeks, but if you need extra towels or anything you just speak to the cleaner who is on site every morning. The bedrooms are spacious and all have their own bathrooms, the 2 bedrooms upstairs have balconies overlooking the pool, our villa had ocean views from the balconies, there was a downstairs bedroom with patio doors out to the pool. The pool was secluded you're not overlooked even by the other villas, it is really well set out. There is also a bar-b-que area.
It's quite a way from paphos and coral bay, but there are regular buses every 15 minutes, beware though until the 1st of May the buses stop running at 6.30 pm, there are a few nice restaurants near the villas but it is a very quiet area, so if you like a bit of night life you need to go to paphos or coral bay, taxis back from paphos cost around 24 euos and 12 euros from coral bay, we started off using the buses but after a few days hired a car, (much better).
The only real beaches are at coral bay, there are 2, the best beach as they call it is right at the end of coral bay, but just before that there is another beach much more suited to small children. There is another beach at Lara bay but it's quite a way with no car.
We loved having the car, we found a secluded beach up near the baths of aphrodite, driving is so easy in paphos, they drive on the same side as us and everything is so well sign posted, we found a monastery carved into the mountain side where monks still live, it was so peaceful and beautiful, in fact we found paphos in April to be green and lush and beautiful everywhere.
We were looking for a quiet relaxed holiday and we certainly got it.
Would I go back...... yes I would, but not yet because the world is a big place and i've only seen a small part of it.
The people are lovely, the food is delicious (try the fish meze).

All in all a very nice last minute deal.

We really love visiting Aura Villas and have become regular visitors there. For us, they are just the right distance between Paphos and Coral Bay.

We have stayed in quite a few of the Villas, each of them have been well equipped and the garden and pool areas have been very clean and secluded. Patio doors open up onto the Pool areas downstairs and balconies on the first floor. Some of the Villas have a rooftop area, which we enjoyed in the evenings. Some villas have sea views so if this important to you then you may want to speak with George or Fiona who will advise which ones do have a view.

The Villas suits all family types. The first year we visited the whole family visited so there were 8 of us. A downstairs bathroom and bedroom have been particularly helpful this year and would be for anyone with a mobility problem. We were attracted to the Water Sports during the day in Coral Bay and the Restaurants in the evening.

Aircon is essential during the summer period and is available in the living areas as well as the bedrooms.

Supermarkets are local, a new one opened within walking distance in 2008. Although Buses stop just outside the Villa Complex with easy rides to Coral Bay and Paphos, we have been fortunate enough to have been able to rent a car.

If you havent visited the area before, then this is a particularly great place to start. The locals are friendly, they drive on the correct side of the road and most speak English. There are many authentic restaurants there but you can also live 'home-from-home' if you wanted as all the major fast-food outlets are a short car drive away.

For those who need Internet connection, they provide a free wireless connection, which helped us stay in touch with home.

George and Fiona are very helpful and welcoming people. They can be easily contacted if you need help or advice and they are often on-site just to say hello.

All-in-all a relaxing holiday full of fun.

These excellent villas are just off the Paphos - Coral Bay road. There are 6 villas in total, each with their own pool. The pools are surrounded by hedges / vegitation and are therefore very private. It's a short walk down to the sea where there is a coastal path. You can walk almost all the way to Paphos along this path - it's just a track at first but eventually turns into a paved path. There's a bus stop just outside the villas and regular buses take you to Coral Bay (10 mins) and Paphos harbour (15 mins). There's a few tavernas nearby along with a modern air-conditioned supermarket. The friendly owner, George, runs the villas with his family and the personal touch is evident throughout. All in all an excellent place to get away from it all.

This was my second time at the Aura Villas. I stayed there also in summer 2007. What can I say? It really depends on what are you looking for, for me the Villas are a perfect summer retreat, I love them.

The accommodation is very generous, well equipped and very private. Because it is a family run business, you feel there more at home then a tourist.

The complex is slightly out of the away, but then again this is exactly what I like about it. I would advice renting a car if you want to get out and about. There is a large store right next door, perfect for your daily shopping, a new addition this year.

I personally would recommend visiting Doria Hotel restaurant walking distance from the complex, the food is delicious and authentic enough although it will come with a bake potato for the tourists touch! Service is good and people are very friendly! Otherwise Imigines In and Araoozo in the nearby village are definitely worth visiting, you will need a car for that.
