OK - Opposite the Kings Avenue Mall - there is what initially appears to be unused land - don't be fooled - its an UNESCO World Heritage Site - it has Roman and Greek remains visible - with the world's largest surviving villa pebble floor mosaic ...
Its free - just walk in one of the entrances - go up the hill and wander around - you will soon work out what there is to see.
If you stand at the top of the hill (the Apollo) facing seaward and then look right - you clearly see the Lighthouse and Odeon area of the Kato Paphos Archaeological Park and immediately recognise its just another part of the same complex - just not been built on! YOU can see how the road down to the harbour has split the site into two ..
If you went to the Archaelogical Park to see the mosaics - then this is a must too - especally since it is free and the views down to the harbour are superb.
Take a camera and don't wear flipflops - the grass burrs are really spikey!
And when youre finished - pop over the road to the Mall and have a cold drink or a snack
Oh yes and it has excellent views of the Agioi Anargyroi Church too - well worth a look in its own right
