Myself and my husband have just returned from a weeks stay at the Aquamare Beach Hotel and Spa. The hotel is in a good location with a good swimming pool and gardens. We found all the staff reception, waiting staff and cleaners to all be extremely pleasant and helpful. The biggest thing that let it down for us was our room. The room itself was comfortable and exceptionaly clean but the temperature the whole week was extremely hot and the air conditioining was awful and had no effect whatsoever. Also our room faced out onto the main road and was extremely busy all night long with boy racers and motorbikes and quad bikes racing up and down. The food at the hotel had a fairly good selection with a different theme each night. Unfortunately my husband had food poisoning on the first night which made us very wary what we ate the remainder of the week. We have previously stayed at the Cypria Resort next door on several occasions and much preferred this hotel. I would probably not go back to the Aquamare again but if I did would go on B&B only as there are manylovely restaurants in Paphos to try that are reasonably priced if you are prepared to shop around. and would definitely request a room at the back of the hotel. Most lunchtimes we ate at the Adelaida restaurant on Posoidonas Ave as you walk towards the harbour. The meals and service were excellent and so were the prices. A special mention to the Romanian waiter there who was always extremely pleasant and friendly. Overall we enjoyed our holiday as we love Cyprus and at the end of the day a holiday is what you make it but given that there are several hotels in this area of good quality we would probably choose somewhere else in future.

this hotel is in wonderfull surroundings with a sea view on the beach with palm trees and made me feel relaxed and happy, the outside resturant suited my vegetarian needs and my friend who eats a variety of foods, the hotel have great proffessional staff of which some of the girls employees were darlings ! clean hotel from top to toe ive stayed all over the world and i can recommend this hotel for young proffessionals,couples,under 60s. when i was staying at this hotel their was a very low key weddings taken place every day, without any noise or distractions. the breakfast was quality with a omlette maker to cater for you at hand.

Room was OK, pool was nice and beach side location, breackfast was good. But it was a bit isolated location unless you have a car to go to the city centre. Our room's safety box was broken and it took very long to b fixed. We requested a non-smoking room but assigned to the smoking room... Also the hotel next to is under construction or looked like an abandoned building, which gave really lower image to this hotel. The reception staff should be trained better to be more friendly and helpful. They were like staff of the self-service restaurants. Spa treatment was expensive and at least guests should be allowed to use a pool with different types of jet (45 EURO for 55 minutes !) Also sauna, jacuzzi was out of oeder during our stay, shame.

We have been going to Paphos for 20 years, and have stayed in most of the other hotels on Poseidonos Ave. This was our first time at the Aquamare, and we would certainly go back. It is true to say that the Athena Beach and the Athena Royal are a lot grander, have a huge choice at meal times, and have spectacular swimming pools etc. BUT - they are also a LOT more expensive! We thought that for the price, the Aquamare was super. The food was very good, the hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are more than adequate and well equipped for a nice holiday. The pool area and gardens are beautiful. In spite of the negative reviews we read about the staff, we found them to be friendly - they seem to appreciate a smile and Hello from the customers, which is fair enough, as being friendly works both ways.
The hotel is quiet, and out of the way, and it is true that there is no entertainment laid on, and no porter service - but people need to bear in mind the price that they have paid for their holiday here, and it is not fair to expect all the trappings of a more expensive hotel.
Overall, this was a terrific value for money holiday, and we would definately go back.
