“Fantastic Experience for our wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

My wife and I visited the area in May 2013 and wanted to have our wedding in a large villa for our close family of about 14. Our wedding planner, Linda, who was a real asset, suggested we use the Aquamare instead of trying to manage in a villa. She insisted we visit the place and I have to say we were really impressed.

In October 2013 we returned to get married, we had the ceremony at Aphrodite's garden nearby and the whole thing was just perfect. We had the wedding reception at the hotel and the food was just divine. We chose a drinks package which we did very well out of, the hotel is just perfect.

We saw some mixed reviews of here and were a little worried but we needn't have been because everything was good. We had 6 rooms and they were all very clean and well appointed and without exception all the staff were very attentive.

We travelled out every night and found the location to be good too.

They were building a hotel next door but in the six months between us visiting no work appeared to have been done so there was no noise but I suspect there may be if the project starts again.

We will be travelling here again for our first anniversary for sure :-)

Room Tip: I would strongly recommend a sea view room for a little extra, because of the location the sunset is...

Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Good points-
food, especially good at the pool bar where it came freshly cooked, the dining room food was good as well but differences between theme nights were minimal.
Some service brilliant (marina we miss you) some ok but overall good.
Clean everywhere
Great weather
Nice walk along sea front
Pathos was great if you like visiting ruins and eating out, there must be a 1000 restaurants!
Bad points-
No welcome as such
Room for young children about ten rooms away on first night which meant we had to sleep in separate rooms on our first night, this was rectified.
Rear of hotel where we were faced onto a dual carridge way that was noisy at night with boy racers and I mean till 4 am! So several nights of broken sleep
Rear of hotel faced demolition site where heavy plant was being used to crush concrete so no rest in room in day either. We complained but were told there would be a charge to move to the front of hotel and that it was all our tour companies fault.
Rooms tired
Pool furniture broken in places and faded, left untidy most of the time.
Bit of a gritty beach was ok for snorkelling
Would not go back
If you go make sure you get sea view room 2 nd floor or above then you will forget all the bad bits

What a shame - this hotel beats most of its direct competitors hands down in respect of cleanliness, quality of furnishings in both bedrooms and public areas. Food is up there eith the best of them - but the gardens, beach area, sunbeds and tables are woefully neglected. The sunbeds and tables are simply left where hotel patrons have left them, strewn all over the place, some in various states of disrepair. Never once saw them being cleaned, wiped down. Unlike all other hotels which line the coastal path, they take pride in their public appearance and staff are always present to align beds, clear up guest 'litter' etc - but the Aquaremare doesn't seem to care. Maybe management has gone walkabout - never have seen him/her. Also other hotels along the pathwayhave their pool bars open, but not here, and no staff present to fetch you one from the main lounge bar. I think that once they have got your booking then they are satisfied and don't feel the need for customer service. Even on arrival, met by non-smiling staff, no offer of arrival refreshment drink or assistance with baggage. Until they get their customer servic sorted, I cannot fully recommend this hotel - pity has it does have great potential.

Room Tip: Obviously seaview rooms are the preferred choice, but are not worth the expense, especially as they...

Stayed there with my family for few days. This hotel is perfectly good if you are looking for sport activities:
There is 4 km path by the sea to Paphos center, perfectly good for jogging (not very much lighted though, so be carefull in dark)
Fitness center is very well equipped, best gym I saw in hotels. Free weights, Kinesys by Technogym and good cardio machines.
Indoor pool is not that big, probably around 15m.
Hotel beach is not very sandy, if you are looking for sand you should move 200 m aside. But it is very good spot for snorkeling due to rocks and seaweeds you can see many fishes there.
Within 400 m you can find few spots with jets, boats, kanoe and pedal boats rent.
What is really impressive is quality of food. We had full board and surprisingly everything were really good and choice has renewed every day. So we even did not tried any other restaraunt except default one, even though there are few more.

This is a hotel which meets its four star rating on most counts.
For a week's holiday it ticked most boxes. The rooms are well maintained, high standard of cleaning, good air conditioning and lovely view from balcony (would recommend a sea view) although the beds are hard. Breakfast fine and lovely to sit outside.

What lets the hotel down is a slightly dated feel to the public areas. It is the colour schemes and lighting mostly. The simple solution of modern lighting might improve this. The sun beds are not the most comfortable. Some investment in new sun beds would not go amiss.

The buffet style dinner in the Ambrosia restaurant (all that seemed to be on offer) is adequate but lacks atmosphere. It all felt a bit functional and not a place to linger over a leisurely meal.

Didn't use the gym. Booked a massage and it was good to get 15% off. The prices are quite high, Walking through the spa pool area, it was empty and felt as though it was closed down. Better marketing and advertising would help the hotel get best interest from guests in this facility. It all feels a little forgotten.

The wedding function on our first night which went on until 2am was not fun as the music was loud and despite contacting reception twice the music still maintained its volume and deep bass beat.

The daily sunshine and lovely sunsets more than compensated for these minor points.

Room Tip: Sea view and higher floor if possible.

Just returned from a two week stay. I cannot understand the negative reviews. We had a wonderful time here. Food was very good and plenty of choice. Hotel very nice and clean, very helpful staff. My only very minor gripe was the beds are quite firm. Would not hesitate to return. We met many who do just that. A special mention for Marina who went out of her way to be friendly to everyone.

Room Tip: We had a sea view, very nice.

Everything we could have needed for our stay was perfect, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food we had was fantastic both breakfast and lunch. We stayed on the top floor with a balcony with nice views. The only negative was wheelchair access for my partner was a tricky in and out of the Hotelto the front (steep) and rear (only through restaurant when open).
