“Excellant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2014

I have been to the Avanti Village twice (will be three times this July) and love it so much! I think the hotel is lovely, with a big pool area, and never have I had any issues getting a sunbed. Always do B&B but I have found the breakfast to be of good quality with a lot of choice! The rooms are spacious with everything you need and amazing air con. I would suggest a first floor apartment though as first year we had problems with ants in a ground floor. However, we requested to move and this was done straight away with no hassle. The staff are friendly and happy to help out whenever needed. Also the surrounding area is great, with the bus stop just outside which for a very cheap fee can take you to the harbor where there is loads of restaurants and pubs to choose from. Alternatively at the back of the hotel there are some lovely restaurants as well. I love this hotel and I am so excited to go back again in July!

Room Tip: I would advise a top floor apartment. It's more private and also no ants seem to get in here.

Just back from the Avanti Village this morning and had to write a review; what a fab place! Although basic the rooms are large and spotlessly clean. We had a first floor room, which I found better as we had a more secure and private balcony and didn't get any ants, which I know can be a problem in the ground floor apts (given the climate I think this is unavoidable).

The village is lovely, again spotless, with a large pool and plenty of loungers and parasols. There is a daily programmer of activities including aqua aerobics, water volleyball, mini football, boules and archery. The archery was for over 15s only which was a bit disappointing; I think they could do a version for younger kids (especially given the popularity of Brave!)

The kids club and kids evening entertainment is geared more towards under 6's but my 8yr old enjoyed it and made some good friends. As some have mentioned the adult entertainment is somewhat "cheesy" and outdated, but we just relaxed into it, after all - it's not Vegas!

The resort is located about 40mins stroll from Paphos Harbour and there are many luxury beachfront hotels nearby. This a good value option in an upmarket area.

We were situated in block E61 which was closer to the restaurant piazza but it was very quiet day and night.

The breakfast buffet is €4 for adults and €2 for kids and was satisfactory. Not to my particular taste but cheap and there was plenty of choice - cereal, fruit, hot items, pancakes, pastries, bread and porridge.

Avanti Hotel is a short 3min walk from the Village, if you wish to go over and have a mosey around.

Room Tip: Upper rooms are better for young families as the balcony is safe and enclosed; the ground floor terr...

We booked for a week in half term in the apartment. Easy flight and hotel check in, large apartment but thin walls. Food was ok for a buffet but means the wasted food for the porkies was huge as they completely over loaded their plates. The pool was large with plenty of sun beds and paphos was a lovely town.
Hired a car from Lady Drivers (the hotel recommended firm) and was charged €15 extra for petrol which ladted 10 miles before light came on. I put my own 15 in and got nearly half a tank.
Final thoughts.....it was a nice friendly hotel however a week in the company (80%) of over weight, tattooed British people was not ideal!.

We stayed here mid May, and felt we had made a good choice. The apartments are very basic but at least you have plenty of space. The pool area is great, with lots of beds and umbrellas, and for once hardly anyone was up early to reserve beds with towels, and I am guessing that even during school holidays there will still be beds for all.

The apartments are in a good location, and a five minute bus ride has you in the centre of town. The people who say it is a 15-20 minute walk into town must have very long legs, it took us 30 minutes, at a good pace.

As a couple we went into town most nights and usually ended up in a bar called the Flintstones which had a really good atmosphere, but if we had children (or in our case grandchildren) what would we do with them after our meal, we didn't find any play areas, and there was not much back at the Avanti to keep them occupied, maybe other reviewers can comment on this. Over the past 8 years we have taken our Grandchildren away to Zante and Majorca where there seems to be lots for the children to do after dinner

Some people have complained about the lack of a plug for the kitchen sink, we turned one of the little egg cups upside down and it fitted perfectly in the plug hole!

The WiFi in reception is either very very slow or mostly non existent, it was quite funny watching everyone wandering around reception trying to connect, but it drove my husband mad, surely in this day and age it should not be such a problem

My only gripe with this place is the charge of 2.5 Euros daily for a safe key, most places these days have digital safes, or at the very least there is a charge for the key which is refunded when you hand the key back, however this is my only gripe, and it would never stop me returning, so if you are thinking about booking this place, go for it

Stayed here and was with my wifes family and they booked us in apartments next to each other fantastic - as other places have put us in diff parts of hotels in the past, very large room with full sets of pans , utensils, toaster and cutlery and hob and oven, you can very easily cook a full meal here if you like . All the staff from reception to the entertainments team were very friendly and helped us out in a difficult situation we found ourselves in. Everywhere was lovely and clean, plenty of sun beds, clean towels and room tidied quite often and free AC wow!!! , in our opinion all the best bars and restaurants were all based around the complex aswell , a nice easy 15 minute walk to the harbour if you want to head down there but we found it a bit pushy that end , if your a family AVOID the bar street area we went twice for drinks and saw trouble down there each time.

Room Tip: a few friendly cats around the site so if your allergic etc be aware of that - we loved them tho esp...

They have thought of everything at the Avanti. A massive pool so it never felt too crowded - lots of sun loungers so no need to get up early to make sure you get one (might be different later in the year - we stayed during May half term). The accommodation was spacious and immaculately clean with an unexpected very thorough daily maid service. I would echo some of the other reviews that the sofas in the apartments are pretty uncomfortable. The bed in the one bedroom apartment is massive and the curtains are blackout so we all slept really well. You could spend the whole holiday on site as there are a good selection of restaurants but we ventured out after a couple of days unwinding. I have to say the food in the Village was nothing to get excited about - most menus with very similar offerings : omelettes burgers pizza etc - but great for fussy children. Children are well catered for at the village with lots of activities including a daily disco.
