Just returned from the above. Had doubts about going before because of the adverse reviews , but was pleasantly surprised when we got there. meals were very nice with plenty of choice. The room was tired but clean and tidy, staff were all east Europeans but were very friendly and helpful. Loads of Russians there but they were mostly very pleasant and friendly. The entertainment was poor but we don't go for the entertainment . There is plenty just a short walk away in coral bay if you wanted it . Russian karaoke is terrible like Coldplay play The Smiths. Our one complaint was the amount of cats about and we especially didn't like them in the dining area. This was our first time here and for those that are regulars it may have gone down hill. Yes we could find fault if we went out of our way to do so but were on holiday and have better things to do. Would we go again Yes would we recommend it Yes

We have just returned form one week stay with friends at this hotel. We went for a complete rest and relaxation. The hotel was very good, rooms lovely we had requested sea view and on high floor and that is exactly what we got could not fault the view, or the room, especially the cleanliness, our cleaner was Nizoa Xupaziwous (excuse spelling) she made swans in the room every day the room was spotless and she was helping us to learn the language with a big smile every morning, Food was good and very plentiful we are all four of on diets now we are home. All staff were very friendly bar staff and reception, the entertainment man was happy and fun never pushing you to do anything, The pool was cold so not many people swimming this made laying in sun by the pool very relaxing and quiet. A lovely place to be for your break away from it all. There is a small village within walking distance with a few bars and shops if you want a walk in the evenings. We will return.

Room Tip: Third floor with sea view are excellent rooms, can not comment others as this is where we were. Than...

First let me say the staff were very friendly and service from them was very good. My mum and
I were there the end of september, the transfer took 1.5 hours, our room overlooked the pool, but it was very tired, peeling paint, broken hair dryer, soon fixed, dirty grout in bathroom. Meals were not up to scratch for a 4* hotel, lukewarm to cold. Lots of meatballs, not a lot of real meat and the fish choices were very poor. No butter, only awful marge. A broken lift, with no sign of repair during our time there. I was also charged for a small bottle of still water which, according to the paperwork from reception, and the booklet in the room, should have been included in all inc.
Entertainment was 1 guy, trying to do everything. I think that at the end of the season, the powers that be are penny pinching, I would not recommend, would not return and will steer clear of this chain of hotels for future holidays.

Room Tip: If you do go, try for a pool view, without this it would have been even worse.

This is a truly awful hotel. The hotel is not even a 1*. Everything about this hotel is basic. The food is inedible, most things are tinned and tasteless. I have never heard of a 4* hotel where you have to 'hire' the remote control in your own hotel room.
We had requested to change hotels through our rep, to be advised, that we would be 'charged' by this hideous hotel over 700 euros to leave early! Just sums up this hideous experience. There are plenty of other beautiful hotels in Cyprus - choose elsewhere.

to what was a really nice hotel. This was our 6th visit and unfortunately our last. this used to be a very friendly hotel, with good food , good entertainment and overall, a lovely place to stay. But boy, whats happened to it???! Staff rude and unkept, food attrocious (unless you love cabbage that is!) and the entertainment? don't get me started.
Sorry to see it go this way but its clear that the aim of the hotel is to look to other nationalit of guest who, we were told, pay alot more than we Brits do.

Room Tip: don't even bother

My Wife and I returned to the Ascos for our 9th consecutive year. It was nice to meet up with friends we have met over the years. A lot of people have been going back year after year but sadly this could be the last visit for us. The entertainment quite frankly was pathetic and the daytime activities were almost none existant. The hotel is now mostly catering for Russian families who just want to sit by the sea in small groups and let their children run wild.Vinny is quite right with his views on the hotel ,its fine if your Russian! Ishould like to finnish by saying the Brits have supported the Ascos since it was built, will the Russians be here in future years ? I doubt it and by then the regulars from UK will have gone elsewhere, what a shame we will not see the helpfull management and staff again.

after several years returning to what we considered our ideal hotel we will not be returning.what a shame its now spoilt with loads of kids and rude russians.the so called entertainment was pathetic. gone were the days when we really enjoyed ourselves we were glad to come home..all our friends that we have met over the years were of the same opion, some had been going for 15 years...my observations this time were unbelievable changing soiled nappies in the dining room then using the pool to wash the babies bottom,,food being put into bags to be taken out,one morning we counted 10 bannas going into a bag.carafes of wine going to rooms..all going on and and management appear tothe do nothing the russians seem to have a free run i wander if we brits would be allowed to get away with half what they do...the nightly entertainment so bad we would retire to our room to read but the music so loud we complained several nights to the manager only to have it turned up again after the manager had turned it down..time for the owners to sort it out or have a empty hotel. you will not see me returning.

Room Tip: dont bother.
