“Great value all round”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

Now I have to hold my hands up and say, I'm not a great fan of 'all inclusive' holidays. The decision by a number of the major holiday chains to offer 'all inclusive' only holidays, nearly always means the demise and closure of all the family run smaller restaurants in the vicinity.

Guests, simply dont wander out of an evening to sample the local bars and restaurants when they can eat and drink without limits inside the grounds of their hotel.

This leads to economic disaster for whole families who are often forced to close their business down as a result!

There rant over....I joined my family at the Akti Beach for a week in late February and can only sing it's praises.

We checked in late on a Monday night and were personally escorted to our room which was a large apartment not too fat from the reception area.

It was very clean if the decor was a little dated and everything worked!
The next morning there was a massive choice for the buffet breakfast plus fresh fruit if you wanted it.

The staff always coped great with any number of guests and I saw nobody waiting any length of time for an available table.

The staff were always incredibly friendly and were bi-lingual with the mainly British and German guests.

They manage to lay on entertainment (if you want it) every night except Sunday when Dessy, the ever smiling hostess, has her day off.

The food was simply great, it was so well prepared given the numbers and tastes of the hundreds of guests.

The variety was incredible. I guess the biggest plus was the fact that the hotel wasn't too big? Everything was only 3/4 minutes walk from the pools and restaurants.

One little nag, if your driving your own car you may have difficulty finding the turnoff for the hotel as the signs are non existant, particularly at night.

Heading west along the coast road from Paphos, follow the brown tourist signs for the 'Tombs of the Kings'. Carry on past the Lidle supermarket on the right, and the hotel is a mile or so down a left turn, carry on down a rocky unfinished road making a further two left turns.

The hotel is surrounded by private houses and villas for sale.

Enjoy your stay

We stayed at Akti Beach for an all inclusive long weekend 21st - 24th February. No sooner had we checked in and we were in our room. The room was spacious and very clean (as was all public areas) toiletries being included was a nice touch.
By the time we'd unpacked lunch had finished, this was not a problem as hot and cold snacks were being served in the bar - good selection and very tasty.
ALL staff were friendly, polite and helpful, reception staff spoke very good English and bar and restaurant staff were friendly and efficient. Food and drinks very both very good.
One evening our electricity went off - within 10 minutes of reporting it maintainable had fixed it - great service.
On our return to Gatwick airport we realised we had stupidly left our car key in the hotels safe! We phoned the hotel and they went and found it for us and arranged to courier the key back to us in London. The admin and reception staff we outstanding - they kept us updated via email as to when the key had been collected by FedEx, and even emailed later in the week to check it had arrived safely. Above and beyond providing us with a holiday!
We'd like to thank Akti beach not only for a fantastic holiday but also for going out of their way to return our car key. We will definitely be back some day to thank you all personally. An excellent hotel and staff, if you are thinking of travelling to Cyprus please visit this hotel.

My sister and I had a fantastic week here at the end of January 2013. The accommodation was spacious and although we were all inclusive we really appreciated the fridge and cooking facilities in our apartment. The food was excellent and such a variety each day,but it really was the friendly and helpful staff who made our holiday. In particular Sarah on reception, Alex and Petar in the dining room and Victoria an absolute ray of sunshine. It was too cold to use the big outdoor pools and we found that the indoor pool was not heated. We enjoyed a massage in the spa, but other treatments advertised were not available, ie facials. We loved the location and that we could walk along the beach path to the Tombs of the Kings and there was a shuttle bus into Paphos twice per day. Our apartment was cleaned each day and the standard of cleanliness was good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this resort.

Room Tip: We had a garden view with a balcony. It was quiet and peaceful and enjoyed good sunshine through the...

We have stayed here on two occasions and thoroughly enjoyed our fortnight's stay. The lay out of the "village" is very attractive - lots of shrubs and foliage - and there are large swimming pools and bags of space for all the guests to enjoy their holiday. We stayed on a self-catering basis as we enjoy the local restaurants but most residents ate at the hotel. The only downside if you don't hire a car is the long walk (fifteen minutes) along a dusty road to the main road from where you can catch a bus into Paphos.

I stayed here from 15th to 22nd Feb with my family . It is located very close to the Paphos town approx 1 km from the tomb of the kings . We arrived late at night and the staff ensured a smooth check in and asked us to have our dinner prior to going to our room . The staff at the Filoxeni were very understanding given that we were vegetarians and cooked a special mains so that we had enough options . Special mention goes to the staff - Saje who was very attentive,Jenny for being very pleasing and efficient, Alex and Peter for their smiling and prompt service (not to mention hardwork) and Maria. The chefs accommodated out requests for vegetarian meals by providing additional dishes even during peak hours . The rooms were clean and house keeping was of good standard. We went on an all inclusive option hence were provided with lunchboxes during our days out. The outdoor pools were cold given the season but the indoor pool was clean and gym had various options although the machines could do with some oiling . There was a complimentary sauna, steam bath and jacuzzi during our stay. The grounds were clean and the beach views are good although you cannot access them due to rocks . A good pathway for those interested in jogging. The organised entertainment options within the resort are limited or maybe we did not see them when they were taking place. The bar has a decent selection of drinks although the wines in the all inclusive menu were a bit watered down- no such complaints regarding lager or spirits. The resort is a 3 start but I would give it full marks for the hardworking courteous staff who are very responsive to your needs. I would recommend this place for families and those travelling with children .

I am just coming back from a 6 night-stay at Akti Beach and I thought it was good value for money. Stayed there in a twin room with kitchenette and bathroom (with bath, shower gel and shampoo available). The room also had a little balcony with a table, 2 chairs and a little washing-line. In the wardrobe a safe is available (2 euros a day plus a 10 euros deposit given back at the end of the stay). In the kitchen, there were plates, glasses, cutlery, sauce pans, a few other ustensils, kettle, toaster, microwave, oven and hobs (kitchen drawers could have been a bit cleaner but nothing too bad).
Very welcoming staff, large selection of food at breakfast. Clean common grounds. Nice architecture in the hotel.
Used the hotel as a base to visit the tourist attractions around and it was perfect for the purpose so building site next door was not really an issue. A few ants in our ground room but not too much of a problem. Useful little shop providing little quantities of sugar, coffee, butter etc and little quantities of washing powder if needed. Carpark, wi-fi available at no extra-charge. Car is recommended. Did not try the little spa. Would come again.
