“Just slightly short of perfect”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

We have just stayed at Akti beach for 2 weeks 18th November to 2nd December, firstly l must congratulate the staff especially the restaurant manager and his lovely wife, and Alex, also Garik and Victoria in the bar they made our holiday really special with their happy faces and friendly chats. l must also congratulate Antonis the hotel manager, he runs a very happy hotel and the staff love him, he makes them happy and they then make the quests happy, well done Antonis.
The food is very good although there could be a little variation at breakfast, as it was the same everyday.

There is building work going on but it did not bother us we just heard it in the distance.
The hotel is a little out of the way, so it would be good if you could get a car, but if not the bus goes very frequently from the top of the road and you can get to most places on the island.

If l had to moan about something it would have to be, that the rooms were not cleaned well, lots of dust under the beds and the top of the tv had never been dusted since we came, we wrote in the dust saying clean me, mirrors were not cleaned in the bathroom and the beds were just thrown back we had to strip the beds each day to make them ourselves.

The hotel itself is very clean and the public areas spotless.

l think it would be nice if the bathrooms were updated as they are looking tired and the curtains and bedding in the rooms replaced with brighter colours as they are looking drab.

l thing overall the holiday was very good. and hopefully we will be returning next year.

We have just returned from staying at the Akti Beach Village with our friends. We had a fabulous time staying here. Our apartments were clean and comfortable. The setting was lovely surrounded by roses, jasmine and a banana tree just outside our terrace. The food in the restaurant was delicious and plentiful and the service from the restaurant manager and his staff was first class. Also the service in the bar was very prompt and we were always greeted with a smile . We went all inclusive and think that this hotel is exceptional value for money. We can't wait to return!!

We booked on the internet with Lowcost hoildays & was billed as a 4 star hotel. personaly I would say its a 3.
We arrived after dark & was greeted with smiles from all the staff. We were then shown to our room & told dinner was being served. We went all inc as we just wanted a peacfull no fuss chilled out holiday. We were woken up at 6.30am with the sound of pnematic breakers!! I went onto the balcony & was astonished to see a full blown building site within yards of our hotel in full operation. We asked to change rooms & was offered another room in the complex but no matter where you went the sound of the pnematic breakers could be herd. This was every day including Sat & Sun 6.30am-6.30pm & constant. The rubble was being tipped right across from our room. There are 6 diggers 4 lorries & 2 pnematic breakers going all day & the smell of diesel was very strong. This has obviously been going on for some time now. As i am a builder myself i would say there is another good 10 months work to be done as its going to be another complex.
The food was always plentifull & always something for everyone. It was always warm but never hot. The waiters were always friendly & curtious. The pools & complex as a whole were always nice & clean. The rooms are spacious but maybe a little tired but always clean. Although the hotel is next to the sea there isn't any beach, but then most of this stretch of coast is like it. The sandy beach at Coral bay is great & the water is warm & shallow. There is a walk from the hotel to the main road,if you go from the entrance its about 15 minute walk up a road, but if you go from the pool area its about 8 minutes up a dirt track. The busses are every 15 minutes & its 1 euro per trip or 3 euro for a day ticket that you can get on the bus. This will let you go anywhere in south west Cyprus all day. All in all the hotel is fine the food is fine & the staff are great but don't go for about 10 months till the building work is complete!!

We spent our half term holiday in Akti and had a wonderful time! We liked the atmosphere of the resort which was very relaxed. I especially liked the apartment style of accommodation - simple and clean inside and lovely to walk around, with olive trees, roses etc. all around. Plenty of delicious food in the restaurant and the staff were always welcoming and helpful. Our children absolutely adored Dessy from the animation team - still talking about her now! We all enjoyed the pools and the little pebble beach. Hope we can go back next year.

We stayed at this resort village, back in June/July 2012 and were greatly surprised at the beauty of the resort and the quality of the food and service there.

We were greeted by friendly and helpful reception staff - although we arrived at about 22:00 hours. We were promptly shown to our ground floor suite - which was very spacious and pleasantly decorated. On our arrival, we found two full plates of a freshly-prepared salad and sandwiches (presumably because we had not dined in the restaurant that evening). We thought this was a great additional touch and very much appreciated.

On exploring the resort village, we discovered the lovely gardens and the two spacious and pretty pool areas.

We enjoyed many meals at the main pool area and many drinks in the bar areas (one of which overlooks the main pool area and the Mediterranean Sea on a balcony). The cocktails from the bar are resonably priced and are very good! All very impressive!

We became good friends, in fact, with the entertainments team (Desi especially) and the manager of the restaurant. We thought all staff were very friendly and very helpful.

We wanted to hire bikes during our holiday - so were very pleased to note that the reception staff were able to assist us with this and allowed us to personally choose which particular bikes we preferred (they are parked to the front of the main entrance to the hotel/village resort). The daily/weekly rates are very reasonable.

One piece of advice we feel is useful, is the decision to pay a little extra for the holiday, and choose a larger suite (even if you are a couple), as we did so, and found we had two balconies for our use and a lounge separate from the bedroom. The kitchen facilities are a real bonus - crockery and cutlery for your use and also a small table-top oven/hob. Due to the luscious gardens, you may find some summer season insects, who also may wish to take up residence with you, but these should not upset your holiday...

We made fresh coffee, every morning, after breakfast, and enjoyed social-networking whilst sitting on either of our two balconies!

The menu (dinner) is on a weekly rotation - we found details beside the lift, just outside the entrance to the restaurant.

The entertainments team work especially hard to provide their guests with a range of entertainments (in the bar) - from karaoke to a movie quiz! There are television screens in the bar, too. There are other activities, too, eg: a games room and a gym.

One cannot fault the location of this village resort. We walked and rode along the lovely seafront - first, south-east to Paphos and beyond and then north-west to Coral Bay. The best public beaches are probably those just outside the Venus Beach Hotel (before you reach Paphos) - the waves are amazing there and the sand is really soft and deep! Coral Bay is really quite crowded and is a narrow beach. We found Paphos to be a fairly smart resort town, with attractions to suit all tastes and pockets. There are many different companies at Paphos Marina/Harbour who can sell you day-trips - including jeep safaris and daytime coastal boat cruises.

Akti Beach is a short bus ride from Paphos town (the bus stop is only a ten-minute walk from the entrance to the resort village), and is situated on the main road (towards Paphos). Regular transfers to/from the international airport can be arranged at reasonable cost.

Overall, a very entertaining holiday, in a stunning resort village, on a lovely Mediterranean island.

My daughter has already written a very comprehensive review with which I wholeheartedly agree! I would just add that as someone who prefers not to be out of my depth when swimming..the gorgeous pool was just right for me. I am about 5ft 3ins and i could just stand on the souls of my feet. It made such a difference! That said, if the Akti had not been lovely, then the depth of the pool would not have made up for it !!i All of the staff were excellent, I. will definately return. Wonderful week. 14-21 st October 2012

Room Tip: We stayed in a Garden View room, which was nearer to the next door site where the work was going on...
