“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

This is a lovely serene location with fantastic views. There are lots of historical artefacts and a wonderful church. I enjoy going up there in the afternoons and spending some quiet time on a bench.

“Awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

The word awesome is overused and devalued, but this monastery really does inspire a sense of awe and wonder. Please respect the sanctity of the site by dressing appropriately.

“Place with lots of history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

have been here twice in the last few years i have been in paphos but this time we went with a tour guide and he told us all about the history of the monastery.
Have a look in the church as it is a beautiful place but you have to respect the religion and dress correctly meaning that woman must cover there shoulders and knees. There is no charge for the church but there is a donation box as you leave if you would like to leave one.
Then you can go up to the caves and there is a one euro entry fee. You cant take photos but there is some amazing paintings in this caves and you get to see the small conditions that these monks lived in. There is also a small box at the entrance to leave a donation for cat food to feed the cats up there. There used to be about 80-100 cats at the monastery when the buses pulled in but there was so many of them that most of them have now been moved to a place just up the road call 'cat park' but there is still a few roaming about always looking for a bit of affection.
Then there is also the amazing views you get when you are up at the monastery. There is a cafe, public toilets and shops
Great for a visit if you are driving around the mountains.
