Just got back from Paphos stayed one week at the Veronica hotel, booked up on a late deal web sight so had not had much time to review any reports of this hotel. My wife could not get the time off work so for the first time in my life i travelled solo. On arrival i was given a double room as the place was only half full, the room was cleaned every day, i was booked in on half-board for the week, i found the food o.k (if not a little repetative) but at the end of the day you get what you pay for so i had little complaint with it. The staff were very friendly and nothing was to much bother for them, (maybe the girl on reception could be a little more pleasent). The pool area was very nice with plenty of sun loungers, it is just a pity that the bar at the pool was closed for most of the week so to get a drink it was a bit of a treck back around the front bar. If you do get fed up with the food try the place oppersite next door to the irish bar, very good and well priced. It is about a 30 minute walk to the old port where there are some nice bars to sit for a drink in the sun. The beaches are not very nice it has to be said and at the moment there is a hell of a lot of building work going on along the sea front which is a bit of an eyesore at the moment but should look very nice once finished. Over all if you are used to 5 star luxury then dont stay at this hotel, if you are looking for a clean and basic hotel you will find the Veronica just fine. 31/03/2008

We have just returned from this hotel, and found it to be excellant value for money. It is located on the edge of town about 3/4 hrs walk from Paphos harbour and only 5 mins from the beach.

Not sure about some of the adverse comments as we found the hotel to be of an excellant standard for its rating (3*) The staff were very helpful & friendly especially in the dining room. We stayed half board and found the food to be excellant.

We chose this hotel because it does not have any entertainment, and because of it's location from town, so if you are looking for a little nightlife then we suggest you look else where, especially if you have children.

On the downside, the TVs in the guest rooms only picks up BBC news 24, and downstairs in the bar there are 3 TVs all on diffrent sports channels with the sound turned down. (may be worth one of them being tuned in to Sky films for the ladies to watch).

Would I stay here again? Yes

Having just heard about this website, we looked at Veronica Hotel comments as we have stayed there 4 times. We were amazed at some of the negative comments as on each occasion that we haved stayed there we never experienced any problems and got on well with all the staff. The fact that there are many regular visitors must say something about the hotel.
We can only assume that those who have had problems with the hotel usually stay at 5* or have problems themselves!
We have stayed B&B and halfboard and always had a choice and something excellent at the evening meal
We go on holiday to enjoy ourselves, which we do, not look for
faults or imagined faults.

I was not expecting much, we had booked a late break my 13yr old son and I and had a hotel half board for less than £15 per night. However on arrival I was pleasantly surprised, not only is the hotel smart and clean but its in a great location. Yes I had a car, no you don't need one it just helps.

The room was clean, warm and the beds comfortable. I was concerned because some of the reviews on here were quite negative. Food was good too, I only HAD to eat out once because there was nothing that appealled to my very fussy palate.

I would have no hesitation in booking the Veronica again, a couple of minor niggles though - nothing for the teenagers to do in the evenings foretunately laptops and dvds were on hand as I thought this may be the case but we ended up being cinema for 1/2 a dozen kids. The other niggle, pool cold, too cold would it really hurt to get a heater installed as the hotel is open all year.
