“Nice place and good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

Had 4 nights in this accommodation during our 2 week stay in Cyprus.
Very nice appartement with balcony. Large appartements an nice pool. Parking your car safe at a private parking space across the pool is a big +.
A 5 minute walk will take you to the centre area.
The bbq on wednesday was nothing special.

I'm very fussy so when booking my holiday if only for a week stay I researched a lot of the hotels & apartments on the Island this took just short of 2wks, cleanliness is very important to me as too is the location as I can not abide the British lager louts, after narrowing it down to just 2 hotels this one stuck out more there was something there, so my partner & I booked the flights then the hotel, a few days before the flight Angie this is the receptionist at the Pagona emailed myself requesting our departure flight information, then asked if we would like a taxi booking from the airport this was great as this we was just planning, as this was our first holiday in 4yrs due to an accident on my last holiday, I no longer wanted to go away again, however my partner convinced me to change my mind.
We have just returned today after a long trip as our transfer to the UK airport was via national express coach which took 2hr 45 min going to Manchester & 3hr 45 min returning back from Manchester to home when you add the flight time on top it adds to a very long day so the taxi transfer in Cyprus as you can see was a lovely finishing touch.
Pagona Hotel Apartments were very clean the rooms were cleaned daily this included bedding & towels, as the hotel is self catering each room has a fridge as well as a mini electric oven with stove/hob enough for 2 pans, all crockery including cutlery, not forgetting a kettle & pans are all stored in the cupboards, all you will need for preparing and eating a meal should you wish too, the hotel is quietly situated there is no entertainment, food is available from the bar throughout the day, quality meals not burger & chips or pizza, this may not appeal to a lot of people unless you want a quiet relaxing peaceful holiday with good quality food, the prices were inline with most cafes & restaurants in the area, should you want to dine out then all the restaurants are within a short walking distance, Agapinor was very nice however you need to book which the hotel will do for you, this is not the only restaurant there are many others, even on the harbour from one to the other they all offer pretty much the same food just that the price may very slightly not one restaurant is better than the other I found, so the best thing to do is try for yourself, be warned that all offer homemade cakes and fresh whipped cream, my advice is to take this with a pinch of salt, as homemade they are not and I don't class synthetic cream as fresh either, not even Tea for Two which is a little café on the harbour there scones are not freshly made onsite as they warm up the scone & once cooled is quite hard like toast that has gone cold, this is just advice, for a treat there is a frozen yoghurt shop on the harbour well there are 2 the real frozen yoghurt café (in blue), is nice but must warn you that you can put as much yoghurt as you wish including topping but then it gets weighed there is the sting right there, further down the harbour next to a fast kebab café is another Frozen yoghurt café this is very nice you know the price before you choose the ice cream is good too, we went there everyday to have a large yoghurt as well as a small ice cream, enough about food back to the hotel, The hotel is a family run business, there are staff that are not family however they are all friendly, you can get a sun lounger any time of the day so no sneaking down at the crack of dawn, even a Jacuzzi which comes on for half hour every 2hrs from 11am the last been at 5pm, when you are due to fly home you need to leave your apartment by 12 noon, unless you request at the reception if you speak to Angie you can rent for longer it will cost just €5 p/h, as you come out from the hotel turn left & just along that road you will come across a supermarket this is the cheapest you can get all you need from there well known brands that we all know in the UK from shampoo, toothpaste, soap washing-up liquid anything, just don't buy sun lotion from there, as that is expensive, as you exit the hotel & turn right keep walking until you reach the crossing at the school, crossover then turn left as you walk down you will pass many bars, cafes even restaurants, there are more down by the harbour, just stay clear of BAYWATCH cocktail café we got charged €5.50 for 1pt lager & small bottle of water, I myself am planning another holiday to this hotel as my stay was very enjoyable just wished I had booked for 2wk as 1wk was not enough & Angie was superb, for anybody complaining about no TV my answer is get a life, as for cooking well I don't go on holiday to cook I go to relax & rest, in peace with NO screaming kids, lager louts & poor entertainment, if quiet is not your scene & all you want is burger, pizza and chips then don't go its not for you, however if you are looking for a peaceful relaxing holiday with quality food and a chance to meet similar couples of a mature age even young then this is for you. This hotel made my holiday the best ever the experience was like nothing I've had before & the family including are the people I thank as they are what made it the most enjoyable.

Our room was clean but not the bathroom. no tv in the room and also no wifi signal. we stayed there for 3 days and 2 friend of us came to the pool to visit us, the ate and drink there and the staff also wanted to charge them 5 euro for the pool. this is unacceptable. also i think 80 euro for this appartment is too much as the only thing that matters it the pool.

Excellent apartment resort. Excellent location for access to Bar Street and the Harbour area, only a 5 min walk really - but just far enough away to be quiet and relaxed. Secure in the sense that there's only one entrance. Loads of available parking. Lovely clean warm pool. Good food served from bar on-site and great selection of drinks/cocktails. Great place to take kids and you can keep an eye on them from wherever you are. Free WiFi in the bar/pool area.

Aircon in both bedrooms, which was fantastic. Safety deposit boxes at reception if you need them but we had no problems with security when there. Apartment very spacious, with basic kitchen facilities, but there's not really a need to use them with the bar area and a 5 minute walk to all the restaurants/bars at Bar Street. (Check out the cocktails at Baywatch!).

Apartments are cleaned daily.

Staff were excellent, great with the kids, and very helpful - many thanks to them for an early breakfast on our departure day.

No TV in the rooms, but for us that was a bonus - 2 weeks without the kids clamouring to watch the box!! And if you're going to Paphos to stay in and watch TV, you've got the wrong idea!!!

Will definitely go back! Loved it!

Room Tip: If you can get an apartment which opens onto the Pool area, you'll likely be in WiFi range.

I just don't believe some of the reviews on here. NO TV !!!!! so what????....I didn't come all the way out to Cyprus to keep up to date on Eastenders.
We both had a wonderful time during our week at Pagona Hotel. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were all very helpful and very friendly. It's situated in a quiet area so no lager louts screaming at silly O'clock in the morning. Again, I cannot understand why people complain....typically British I suppose.
Personally, I can't wait to go back.
Thanks to you all for a great time.

Attending our daughter’s wedding in Paphos we wanted accommodation that would not only suit everyone's pocket but also the age range of 3 – 77 years and l'm pleased to say the Pagona proved to be an excellent choice.

Accommodation - As stated in previous reviews if your looking for luxury with a room overlooking the sea, and a phone and TV in your room, then the Pagona is not for you. But If you’re looking for reasonably priced, friendly, large and clean accommodation with an amazing pool area (where excellent music was played) along with a superb bar and dining area then the Pagona is perfect

Food and Bar - The bar and food prices are very reasonable - beer 2 euros, cocktails from 2.60 – 4.50 euros, full English breakfast 4.50 euros. The food throughout the day was excellent with lots of choice (the tuna pita breads are amazing but large enough to share!) As a family run concern, the two sons and partners run the bar and do the cooking and they couldn’t have been friendlier. The bar in the evening is open until the last person leaves.

Location - its about a 10 minute walk into Paphos, so far enough to be away from any noise but close enough to visit the lovely harbour and all the excellent restaurants (and bar street which the younger ones enjoyed!) If you don't like walking or find it difficult then reception will order a taxi and there are plenty in Paphos to bring you back.

Finally I would like to give a big thank you to Angie on reception who organised a florist to supply all our wedding flowers which were beautiful (and half the cost quoted by the wedding venue). Angie also arranged our transfers which were waiting for us at the airport and were spot on time to return us to the airport.

Would l recommend the Pagona? – definitely!

Room Tip: I would recommend the rooms around the pool area. If you have children ask for a ground floor one.

The Pagona Hotel is in a quiet gated area with 65 rooms of varying size. It is pefectly located to walk to the beach, the shops or to find more exciting night life.

It is family run and each guest is made to feel special. Stavros and Georgia, the owners and their two sons always go the extra mile to make everyone feel happy and welcome.

The hotel is clean, serves delicious home-made food, has a bar and pool table and the most beautiful swimming pool. Check it out - it's paradise !

Room Tip: The family will let you choose a room provided they are not full. Personally B8 is my favourite wit...
