“Excellent Choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

Me and my family stayed at the Ledra Beach back in July 2005 which was then formerly by Iberostar. What a fantastic hotel though! We went for a week and stayed at this hotel.

Unfortunately we arrived late in the evening so we didn't get to see a great deal until the morning. Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome from the staff on reception and we had our luggage taken to our room immediately.

The facilities we're fantastic. The front of the hotel were you first walk in has marble staircase and looks grand, then you walk into a massive lobby/reception area-which has a reception, seating and a bar/cafe. There are also computers which you can use to access the internet.

The staff we're very attentive and friendly and there's always someone around if you need anything. The entertainment was great too, such as sports during the daytime ranging from volleyball, water polo, water aerobics, darts and basketball. During the evening the entertainment staff would lay on performances, bingo nights, karaokes and discos-so there was always something to get involved in.

There is two pools, one indoor pool which is a rather small in my eyes and a much larger outdoor pool. There are also plenty of sun loungers-however there is always a rush to get one of these. The beach is less then a 5 minute walk away from the hotel itself.

Wasn't really impressed with the choice of food really. There was a lack of selection, mainly just lasange, pizza and chips. The food wasn't particularly hot either, but it's edible I guess. There is also two bars serving drinks.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

I'm currently on day 7 of 14 as I write this review. The hotel is absolutely incredible.

From arriving at the hotel, to a complimentary glass of champagne and some sandwiches and snacks (eaten and drank whilst the concierge take your bags to your allocated room), I have been impressed.

The staff cannot do enough for the residents, so helpful, polite and nothing is too much trouble.

The entertainment team work so hard around the pool each day (except Wednesdays) to keep everyone smiling, from games like water polo or volleyball on the beach to magic tricks near your sun lounger, they've got it all! In the evenings then there are various events from bingo to discos, although I've not participated in any of these as yet.

The all-inclusive package is ace, so much food and drink available from early morning right through to midnight. There's a formal restaurant and a pool-side cafe bar for food all day long, something for everyone.

Highly recommend booking the gala dinner during your stay, you can do it once and it's on Tues or Fri evenings - it's ace. When I saw the menu, I didn't think I'd enjoy it but I'm so glad I did it now. Superb setting, pool side, eating sumptuous traditional Greek cuisine whilst the sun sets. Stunning!

The air conditioning works well within the rooms and there is a complimentary mini-bar stocked daily with soft drinks and waters.

Wifi is free within the lobby area and chargeable elsewhere within the hotel. The lobby area also houses another bar, but drinks are served at-seat/table and not from the bar.

All in all a great hotel, in a great location. One of the best holidays I've had, if not the best.

Stayed here from 5th June to 15th June for our honeymoon and we had a brilliant time. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Entertainment team worked so hard and were fantastic me and my husband joined in in some activities. We arrived to welcome drinks nd small cakes which were a lovely touch. Our room was very spacious we had flower's , bowl of lovely fruit nd champagne. Food was one of the best I have had and we have stayed in many alclusives hotels. Definitely worth paying for a sea view as its so beautiful. Hotel is situated perfectly, only a 25 minutes walk to harbour. definitely be returning with our 4 year old daughter, hopefully next year :) thank you for a wonderful honeymoon.

My daughter and I were on a well earned break for 10 days from 26 May 2013. This hotel was booked at short notice due to a change from our original holiday booking. I can only say this was a totally perfect relaxing holiday. The only fault to mention was the sunbeds being allocated before 7am each morning, this is understandable to get the bed of your choice but when these are allocated and not used for most of the day it is quite annoying. This hotel is perfectly clean, food was delicious, there is a menu choice for everyone. The staff were polite and helpful no matter what role they were in and they all worked extreamly hard. The hotel entertainment staff were brilliant and could not be faulted, however there could have been more entertainment arranged from outside sources. We arrived at the hotel late due to a flight delay, we were welcomed with a quick check in and sandwiches were left in the fridge in our room. Overall a perfect holiday, no hassle, no rowdiness, I would highly recommend this hotel which I hope to visit again very soon.

Room Tip: We had side sea view room on high floor, this was perfect as overlooked the pool area and beach. No...

Well Just back from a 2 week stay at the Louis Ledra Beach.
The hotel is lovely clean tidy and well presented. We attended for a friends wedding which went without a hitch, the staff cannot do enough for you special mention to Stafani.
The rooms are clean and modern and the food is superb anyone not able to find something every day has a real problem there are themed nights something different every day but some good old favourites if not, I am not a great fish lover so Monday fish night seemed daunting but there were other dishes and I was very satisfied.
The Animation Team work hard and are extremely friendly they even got me to attend, they work from early morning to late nights and made us laugh continuously especially Jenna and Adrien.
The worst I can come up with is our air conditioning was a little weak so I think that probably tells you how good this was.
I would have no hesitation in returning to the Ledra Beach and would like to thank one and all there for making this such a superb holiday I will be back
Thanks
Paul

We have just returned from a 2 week break at the Louis Ledra. Well I think we may have been in a completely different hotel to quite a few people on here because this hotel was nothing but a dissapointment! After reading the reviews we were so looking forward to going....first impressions were good.We were greeted with champayne and cakes and our suitcases were brought to the room. The room was ok and quite clean but we were placed in a basement room which had no view apart from the kids club (a small, hot shack like building). We then discovered the majority of the family's with children were placed in the basement which I suppose is not a great issue but when you have nothing but screaming, crying children and parents who are shouting and whistling at 7am in the morning then its not the best.
Yes the food was varied and plentiful but the quality was very average.Im sure the chef's were playing a 'what will the brits eat today' game...fishy roast potatoes, cod in a sauce which can be best described as tasting like rice pudding, trays of pizza (and other items)which were put out no matter how burnt they were, salad containing lots of flies and desserts which you could not quite tell what they contained. The drinks on another note were shocking! Im so suprised, as us Brits are known for liking a beer or two, that people were happy with the quality of them. The fizzy pop (cola, diet cola, etc) just tasted like alka seltzer, the red and white wine came off a pump so most of the time tasted weird and the lager...well what can I say...you were very lucky if you had a decent one...full of gas...just tasted watered down. The impression we got from the hotel was that us Brits will drink any old rubbish so why bother...well it was certainly the case.
Cleanliness in the hotel was average- the maid did come in every day to change the towels and make the beds. Not too sure what they did apart from that. The floors and bathroom were still dirty. The pillows were hard and our blankets were basically falling apart. the air conditioning worked but you could only really feel it if you were stood in the stream of it.The hotel and pools were ok but there were still tables that hadnt been cleaned, the lobby carpets were full of bits, the restaurant (or canteen as it felt) floor was dirty. (just happened to notice, when the red carpet was rolled out for a wedding one day, that it was also stained and full of bits- couldnt someone just give it a quick hoover for someones special day?). The pool toilets, we found, most of the time were smelly, dirty and wet. My husband had an experience in there, lets just say with overflowing and bubbling urinals, which if you heard the full story would make you feel physically sick!
Another thing, there was at least 2 or 3 weddings nearly every day whilst we stayed there. When i read the negative reviews regarding this I did originally think well whats the problem with that....that its until you are experiencing it. It meant there was large groups of people congregating everywhere around the hotel and pools therefore it meant straight away you were outnumbered. It only takes 1 person out of a group of 20 to put towels out for everyone; the veranda areas were just taken up by large rowdy groups of people; the restaurant area would just turn into one mass feeding frenzy. you were always against the masses at some point- not relaxing at all.
Now moving onto a major positive and probably the reason why so many people had a lovely time....they carry the hotel...the entertainment team!!! The team consists of Luci (team manager), Costin, Andrei, Genna, Audrey and Elle (kids club). If it was not for these guys we would not have enjoyed our 2 week break as much as we did and would have maybe asked for a tranfer. My son has a disability and each and every one of them went out of their way to make him feel extra special. They worked so hard and every day you would still see them laughing, joking and having fun. They always had the time to chat to you and make a special effort to encourage you to play in the games. Their enthusiasm was infectious....now i dont ever take part in anything whilst im away but they make you feel very comfortable and it was the least i could do. The only downside is that their shows are performed outside in the ampitheatre. This consists of rows of chairs which incline towards the stage. It doesnt really help when you want to have a chat with others....it was also full of bugs..flying and crawling...so take insect repellent! There was also a real trek to the bar so we spent the night taking it in turns so that we didnt miss any of the shows. Why they couldnt put a waiter down there to take orders was beyond me.
We have stayed in much better 4 star hotels (and for cheaper) who do not hesitate to offer the little extras to make it feel worthy of spending £3500! It just felt like everything was done to make do and on the cheap.

Dear guest,

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Louis Ledra Beach; thank you also for your review.

We are sad to read your dissatisfaction with our hotel despite our overall high scores from guests on both internal and external questionnaires and all other sources. With regards to being allocated in one of the ground floor rooms please be advised that we always try to allocate families with children into one of the ground floor rooms for safety reasons. If you had informed us that you would have preferred a higher floor room, we could have allocated you on the second or third floor. We nevertheless apologize for this.

We are glad to read that you have found our food variety plentiful, while we are sorry to read that you did not enjoy the quality of our food and beverage for which we usually receive high praises. Nonetheless, your comments will certainly be passed on to our kitchen brigade for reviewing.

Your reference to your room’s cleanliness disappoints us quite a lot as our housekeeping department is always the first department to receive excellent comments. Nevertheless your comment will be forwarded to the hotel’s executive housekeeper. Allow us to assure you that actions will be taken immediately if found necessary. Moreover, regarding the noise coming from groups staying in our hotel, we would like to believe that the recent actions we have taken have minimized the noise and disturbance of other guests. Your comment is noted and further actions will be taken if needed.

We were glad to see that you have appreciated the ‘arrival/check-in’ experience and that you have enjoyed the entertainment provided by our animators including the attention given to the little prince.

Once again we apologize for any inconvenience caused. Our only goal is to provide all our esteemed customers the ‘best possible holiday experience’ with friendly and courteous personnel, great food quality & variety, immaculate cleanliness around all hotel’s areas, good entertainment and around the clock assistance. To ensure this we have a duty manager present every day till midnight for any issues that may arise; in addition, our reception desk is at every guest's service 24 hours a day for customer attention, service and inquiries. All in all, we are happy to hear that despite everything you still had an enjoyable holiday and would herewith like to propose our 5 star property the Royal Apollonia Beach for your next holiday destination, which we believe might cater to your needs better.

We will be pleased to welcome you again to one of our Louis Hotels.

Best regards,

The Management.
