“As good as ever”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013 via mobile

4th visit to the Damon and stayed in superior refurbished apartment which was excellent, as always very clean and daily change of towels and even a nightly turndown service. Staff all so pleasant and friendly and so hard working. Entertainment and music around the pool daily was enjoyable and not intrusive. Busy but always got a sunbed although the Brits still seem intent on getting up early to bag a bed. Why? Nice mix of clients mainly Brits but various ages. Pool bar food very good and reasonable prices for both food and drink. For a reasonable priced hotel with two pools, clean and well maintained facilities, excellent staff and well positioned for tok road, old town and the harbour area all within easy reach the Damon has it all. We will be back next June.

My husband and I were on a budget this year and so didn't pay a lot for our holiday to Paphos. I was a bit apprehensive about the accommodation, but when we arrived I couldn't believe how nice the apartment was. The self catering facilities were excellent and the food and snacks throughout the day were excellent (recommend the Greek pocket pitta). The staff were so so friendly and very welcoming. The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels are provided daily. I'm looking forward to going back again next year as I enjoyed it so much. The staff and the food are the best things about the Damon. Thanks for a great holiday Damon!

Arrived late in the evening and the staff were all very helpful and our room was perfectly clean upon arrival!
The location is perfect, within walking distance of lots of restaurants, the harbour and the Tomb of the Kings, only a short drive to Coral Bay, a lovely sandy beach, and the waterpark!
Lots of entertainment throughout the day and evening, can get quite loud by the pool, but this didn't bother us! Our apartment was facing the main road, so couldn't here the noise from the hotel in the evening. They had fire shows, belly dancers and live music at the hotel!
Food served at the hotel is of a great standard and cheap too, but there are plenty of places to eat in the surrounding area... I would recommend a visit to Fat Mama's, by far the best food we had all holiday!!
If its a cheap sunny holiday you want, then the Damon is perfect!

We had a great stay at this hotel on our first visit to Cyprus.

Our room was on the ground floor facing the main road but after midnight it didn't seem to be too busy and we had no trouble sleeping.
The room was spacious, has been recently renovated and had everything we needed. The maids came in everyday and we had towel changes twice in our 10 day stay.

The pool area was very nice with a good value pool bar and always plenty of sunbeds. There was another quieter pool but we didn't use this.
There is entertainment 6 days a week in and around the pool with dart, billiard competitions, aqua aerobics, water polo etc. The guy running the entertainment was very good and a laugh.
There is evening entertainment as well although we only went to the BBQ night, which we would recommend. It was 15 euros and we thought it was a very good BBQ with good entertainment afterwards. I think this is included though for people on half or full board.

The staff are all very friendly and make you feel welcome. They get to know you which gives the hotel a more personal touch than other hotels we have stayed in before.

The hotel is in an excellent location, with the bus stop right outside going to the harbour and to Coral Bay beach. It was 1 euro for any trip or you can get a day ticket which I think may be 3 euros. We only used the bus to go to Coral Bay as we walked to the harbour most nights. This only took 15-20 minutes and was a nice walk in the evening warmth.

There are plenty of restaurants at the harbour catering for all tastes. We were slightly disappointed with the nightlife after we had our meals each night though. A lot of the bars in Bar Street have closed down and it is quite quiet down there. We did find Linekers and Flairs to be lively though after 10:30pm. There are a couple of clubs that open at 1am but we did not visit these. I imagine they would not have been too busy though.

We also visited the waterpark at Limassol which was 35 euros each for coach transfer and entry ticket. We went during the week and it wasn't busy at all so no queues for the rides. I imagine this would be different during the holidays though.
There was a waterpark in Paphos but this is smaller than Limassol so we decided it was best to go to Limassol.

Now the warning for people on the ground floor (especially facing the main road). My bikini was stolen from our balcony as it was drying over night. There is a 6/7 foot metal gate surrounding the ground floor balconies facing the road, however on closer inspection it appears it would be easy to crawl under the gate at either end of the row of balconies. It was a bit strange this was the only thing stolen as there were also tshirts and shorts on our balcony too, so it seems anything could be stolen really. I did report this to reception but they didn't seem suprised by it so we would advise that absolutely everything that you are drying is taken in when you go out/are asleep at night. Although it sounds common sense I really didn't expect someone would want to steal a £20 bikini!

A slight shame that happened but did not spoil our excellent holiday. We would probably not come back to Paphos in the near future as the nightlife was not quite lively enough for us, but if we did come back later we would definately consider staying at this hotel again.

We arrived here on 01.06.2013. Have had a great time. Very convenient for most places to visit. Apartments are very clean and tidy. Have everything you need. Staff are very attentive and so very helpful. Pool is really good. Pool bar is well stocked and does small snacks. Entertainment is really good. Plenty of choices for breakfast. Nearby there are a few really nice restaurants. Ask staff to recommend somewhere to go for local food. Could not fault the hotel or staff.
