“Great Place to stay, kids will love it.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

Went to the Aliathon in April 2013 for a week. Great place to stay with loads for the kids to do. Make sure you pay for the Deluxe room (fishing village) as the Original Standard rooms are in the old complex when it used to be a time share complex. Out two aged 6 & 11 enjoyed all the clubs on offer and the lad who's 6 loved the football academy and swimming lessons that cost a few euros extra but were well worth it. All the other clubs were well entertaining for the children, the little lads was worn out by 9pm so I didn't sample too much of the night time entertainment apart from certificate night. The missus went with my daughter to watch a couple of shows and and said they were good quality and quite entertaining.

The food is varied and you get a good selection. There's always something available from the snack bar if you don't fancy sitting in the restaurant during the day.

Room was excellent and very clean with plenty of space.

Swimming pools were pretty nippy when first getting in but didn't spoil the fun. The splash park was great for the kids. All the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and the kids entertainers do a fantastic job with the children. Special thanks to Nicola for having the patience of a saint trying to get my lad to swim and Chris & Ollie from the football academy for running some great classes.

I'll be going back this year as the kids haven't stopped going on about it. Good Value and highly recommended.

Just make sure you buy any food at the airport on the way home as they had ran out of everything to eat on the return journey.

Room Tip: Make sure you choose the Deluxe in the fisherman village.

Just returned a week ago with my 15 year old daughter and her friend, room was clean and basic, I've been to a lot of 4+5 * hotels and this one was more like a 2* unless you were in the new part, the fishing village which was in the thomas brochure. Food was nice, nothing to do for teenagers and they had to go to harbour for free internet as the hotel wanted 9 euros a card which i think should be free? Unless you had young children and stayed in the fishing village, its not worth the money.

Room Tip: Make sure you stay in the Fishing village and not the old part?

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write this review on Trip Advisor. At the Aliathon we make every effort that all our guests have a fantastic time and our reviews show that we are pretty successful.

We are glad to hear that you found our rooms clean and that you liked our food. However, we are really sorry that we did not manage to meet your expectations with regards to the facilities for your teenagers. It is unfortunate that they did not participate in the clubs and evening entertainment as most of our guests usually find this facility fantastic for teenagers. We would also like to inform you that there are many other facilities available within the holiday village such as a full equipped gym, a tennis court, high ropes and an archery range that can be used by all our guests during their stay with us.

Please also note that our Holiday Village is split into two villages the Aegean Village and Fishing Village which are decorated in different styles both of which are highly rated by our guests. The Aegean Village is more relaxed and gives the sense of tranquility whilst the Fishing Village has more action due to the proximity to Splash pool and the big pool. The Aegean Village rooms are of simpler in decoration according to style. Please also note that the Aegean Village has had many rooms renovated this winter and have received some fantastic comments with regards to the rooms facilities and deco so it is unfortunate that it did not meet your taste.

In common to many other hotels, there is a small charge for the use of wifi internet, as a partner is providing this service and we have a huge area to cover which requires substantial investment and maintenance.

Thank you once again for your comments. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to the Holiday Village Aliathon in the near future in order for you to enjoy the true Aliathon Holiday experience.

Just back from a week and am full of praise (rare for me!). The village is lovely, quite large but easy to get around. The pools are lovely. I went alone with my 6 y.o daughter and we both had a lovely time. I had been a bit concerned that i might stand out amongst the families, but there was a real mix of parties, we weren't the only ones on our own and met up with some lovely people. Pools and complex are very clean and well maintained, the food is lovely and plentiful, the drinks are good and the only things you have to pay for are the kids slushies (eur1.50) and the branded lollies.
The first choice team are very enthusiastic, my daughter did the swimming lessons and a special mention should go to phoebe and Nicola who were both lovely. The evening kids entertainment is cheesy but daughter loved it. Aerial adventure "interesting" but definitely worth a go. Again, staff were lovely, Niall, Rosie and Lauren especially...
Kids club was good, though daughter only wanted to go a couple of times as she loved the pool so much. But when she did go she enjoyed herself!
Basically, if you want a good value, all round fun holiday then go for it! We would certainly go again :-)

Room Tip: If you are with kids, choose a deluxe room -these are in the new Fishing Village. The Aegean village...

Just arrived back after a week at the Aliathon. The weather was surprisingly good for the start of the season, just a couple of cloudy starts. We chose the holiday via First Choice and departed from Doncaster. The booking in process took only a few minutes and the flight was excellent. The leg room was far superior to a Thomas Cook flight we endured two weeks earlier to Lanzarote. The cabin staff were also far more attentive efficient. It was a perfect start to what turned out to be a wonderful holiday. Only a 25 minute coach transfer to the hotel and the booking in procedure was well rehearsed and took only minutes. First Choice reps actually had our key card ready for us when we left the airport. We were given a form to fill in that contained all our details that we just handed into reception, therefore no hanging around to get booked in. We were given a top floor apartment in the Aegean Village part of the complex that suited us just fine. This is the quitter part of the complex and had two swimming pools and a bar. We had an apartment adjacent to the bowling greens that were well used by what appeared to clubs made up of ex - pats. The apartment had been given a facelift and was spacious with a separate bedroom. A well equipped kitchen area including a kettle, fridge and microwave. Both rooms had LCD TV's with Sky sports and a few other English channels. The Aegean village though is eclipsed by the Fishing Village side that appears to have been constructed based on Venice. Absolutely beautiful and a real credit to the architect. This area hosted some marvellous swimming pools and activity centres for the kids. Although our kids are grown up and not with us I could not help thinking that this would have been brilliant had we been here when they were younger. The First Choice activity team provided plenty of day time entertainment for the kids. The food at the hotel was far the best we have eaten on similar holidays for a long time. A real credit to the Chefs. The food was well presented and tasty. The pastry Chef should get a medal for some of the creations they made. Work is still on-going in the complex in respect of redecorating an extremely large hall that I assume will be used as an entertainments area on an evening. Only a 25 minute walk along the seafront into Paphos. We walked it on the mornings that were a bit cloudy. Be careful though, because you will still get a suntan and need to have sun cream applied. We didn't and got a little burnt on the first day. The staff within the complex are really pleasant and friendly. They work well together as a team and always appeared to be in high spirits even though Cyprus is going through a bad economic time at the moment. A few hundred yards away is a bar called The Fiesta that serves up Boddingtons at just under 3 euros and half price cocktails after 5pm. The Boddington beer was spot on especially after tasting the local Keo beer. The bar also provides free Wi-Fi and is a better option than having to pay the Hotel for the use of its Wi-Fi system. I think the hotel should look into the charging for Wi-Fi especially as most good 4 star hotels usually offer this service for free. There was another poor mark for the hotel in that if you stay in the Aegean side, then you have to hike over to the fishing village to fill up a small plastic bottle that is provided to you for water upon arrival. Come on guys, surely those staying on the Aegean side should have nearby access to a water fountain. therefore two small gripes that could be easily rectified, free Wi-Fi and another water station. I actually bought a 5l bottle of water at the nearby supermarket to prevent making the daily hike to the water station. The gym that is located within the Fishing village was excellent, probably the best I have used whilst on a holiday. Loads of up to date equipment. There is also an indoor pool and spa within the same building.
Overall a brilliant holiday and bordering on excellent. A big thank you to all the staff and hopefully a fantastic season for them.
Rob and Jan

Room Tip: Fishing Village apartments looked brilliant. Aegean side apartments though if you want the quieter t...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review and choosing the Aliathon Holiday Village for your recent vacation.

It is a pleasure for us to hear the kind words you have to say about our Holiday Village Aliathon. We are grateful that you felt our chefs deserved a medal and that you appreciated the Aliathon’s architecture, it is these kind comments that keep the Aliathon team motivated to keep moving forward.

Concerning refilling your water bottles in the Aegean Village you can do this through pumps at both bars in the Aegean Village it is unfortunate that you was not aware of this during your stay. With regards to the WIFI charges I will pass your comments onto the rest of the management team to discuss.

We hope to welcome you back to the Aliathon Holiday Village soon. Please feel free to email us prior to your next arrival with any specific requests you may have and be assured that we will do our best to satisfy all your requests.

Everything was fantastic from checking in to departure. This holiday village is outstanding and very well managed and run. I've never seen so many staff work so seamlessly and always have the time to smile and say hello. A real credit to the hotel each and every one of them.
Checking in was very fast and easy which was well welcomed at 11pm with two small children. The bags are Taken to the room and you get a ride to the room where the driver waits to see you get in safely.
The room, we had a delux apartment in the fishing village, was wonderful! Spacious, bright and airy, clean (and kept clean to a great standard). Very comfortable too with everything we needed and extra touches too. Great balconies with furniture everything was finished to a high standard.
The whole complex is kept neat and tidy, clean and beautiful. It's easy to get round the village, nothing is too far away.
Couldn't believe how impressed we were with the food! Again, a fantastic clean and well set area with plenty of seating and felt spacious. Staff cleared plates amazingly quickly and were always so friendly. The food was gorgeous, plenty of choice, easy to access and very tasty. The wine is lovely too! Well worth getting dressed and having lunch in there too, always something to tempt you! Food is replaced when needed and never ran out. You can eat outside too which we did a few times. There is a lovely water feature outside too.
We ate in the Greek restaurant and that was lovely, well worth a visit. We didn't eat in the meicn, we were too busy loving the buffet relly! Next time..!
The pool bar area does food too during the day if you don't fancy moving far from the pool. I didn't really use it but the kids did sometimes and it's good to be able to grab a snack poolside.
The bar staff were very friendly too and we never found a queue which was fantastic. Adult bar is very relaxing as well.
We went in April 7-14 and it was lovely weather, happy in swim wear. Lots of kids in the pools, great atmosphere with music and games too. The splash pool was loads of fun too kept kids entertained for hours! I thought it was cold but it was always busy. Pool towels provided and easy to change too.
Nice play area too with swings, slides etc which was well maintained and attractive.
First choice also do an excellent job on site, always on hand, easy to find, remembered guests names, happy to chat and always smiling. We thought the variety and amount of kids clubs available was impressive and ours loved going. Felt v safe to leave tem and they had a great time. We ended up very relaxed and had meals when they were At club, evening drinks, just that bit of time to completly chill out.
We didn't do much evening entertainment, so busy during the day that the children (6 and 3) were exhausted after the mini disco or kids club. Never noisy or rowdy at night and we found it warm enough to sit on the balcony in a light fleece.
They have a great Facebook page hitch is worth looking at, though I'm now jealous when I see how much fun they are still having now I'm back!
aliathon holiday village....you are fantastic and everything we could have hoped for. I really do hope to return next year. :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay. The kids enjoyed the football, party nights and family events (rounders, water cricket, boules, aero-ball, high-ropes. etc). They made many new friends and never seemed to stop. They loved the independence that being all inclusive meant - at 8 and 11, they could lunch or get drinks from/near the lighthouse whenever the liked (which meant some lovely lunches with just my wife in the main restaurant!).

It has to be said, that the quality and variety of food was excellent. I was wary of going all inclusive, having stayed twice before on a self-catering basis but I was pleasantly surprised.

The football coaches were superb, our boys only missed one session each in the two weeks. I even played in the adult matches.

The reception staff were also great. We asked to change to a room we had previously stayed in and this was handled very professionally.
