“budget break”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014

I booked the above hotel because of the value and location which was recommended. My review is true and frank and to honest five star reviews are unbelievable. The hotels location was great for me,top of the town. Its a bus ride away from the harbour and the bus stop is just outside the door and a bus every 15 minutes or so. Its 15 euros for a weekly ticket so those who complain are just being silly. If you wanted the harbour book it and pay double. The rooms were clean smart and adequate. If you book with Mercury Direct don't upgrade to a pool view as have a feeling you wont get one. I was road side and to be honest its only noisy on a Saturday. The food is very repetitive so if you don't like pork or chicken legs don't book as together its the main dish five times a week. The choice could be better whilst its a cheap holiday and you get what you pay for doesn't take much to vary the menu. trust me I no I cook for a living. I paid 349.00 two weeks DBB third week BB. But listen please take into account what the hotel gets in the way of the cut of your holiday. probably about 10euros a day. Out of that work out what needs to come out of that price and the hotel does need to make a profit!!.
Staff on the whole are ok some training could be done with the guys in the bar. Chambermaids were great and rooms were kept smart and clean. Reception on the whole was good Vesilene was great. The head receptionist well organised and polite. One big downside of the hotel though is Joe the Lazy receptionist very arrogant man. Language at times whilst guest were around or to other members of staff was disgusting. A man like that should never be in the front of house. I feel though doesn't matter who complains and there are many it falls on deaf ears. Don't let that effect your booking as ignorance is bliss so book and ignore him.
Remember you get what you pay!!!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2014

Returned on Monday from a three week stay at the Agapinor. Staff very nice and helpful. Typically what you would expect from a 3 star hotel. Room clean and spacious. En suite was clean altho, floor had a small deep hole by the bath which we stuffed with toilet paper after seeing a cockroach emerge from it. The plug didn't fit the plughole in the bath and altho we had this changed the replacement was no better. Always plenty of hot water. We had a town facing room and road was sometimes noisy especially in the mornings. Our balcony only got partial sun for a couple of hours in the morning. Food was very repetitive, same menu everyday for breakfast, which would be much tastier with bacon instead of spam and real sausages instead of small frankfurters. Dinner menu was the same from week to week, which was a shame
because with a few tweeks it could have been much improved. Mealtimes could be a bit of a free for all due to the layout of the buffet system. Our last week was on a bed and breakfast tariff and we ate out for dinner and lunch, two restaurants we could recommend are the Adelaida which is opposite the Almyra Hotel along from the harbour prom in the 'posh bit' of town, they do a three course dinner for 10 Euros, incl of a half carafe of wine, and also the 'Tea for Two' which is just up the hill towards the market from the Agapinor. Quite a walk down to the harbour area but there's a good bus service every ten minutes and fares are very reasonable.

Room Tip: Rooms on back of hotel looking out to the sea would be sunnier and quieter.

Dear Guests,

Thank you for choosing our Hotel for your recent holiday.

We would like to say that our Hotel does have full pest control systems in place however this is Cyprus and if patio doors are left open or food is left out in the rooms then insects will be tempted to come inside.

Regarding the bath plug, this was changed by our maintenance department as soon as it was reported and was found to be suitable and working 100%.

At Breakfast there is a varied selection on offer and we would like to say that we use local bacon not spam and you are correct we do not serve English Sausages but we offer International Sausages (Frankfurters) and these are used by most hotels in Cyprus.

Finally, we were pleased to hear that overall you had an enjoyable stay and should you require any assistance in the future do not hesitate to contact us.

Thanks to all the staff in agapinor hotel expecially this guy called vesilni he was very helpfull and will always put a smile on your face. i and my wife had a lovely time there. the food was Very good compareing to the price paid, the room is very clean with a good view to the sea.the hotel location is very good for commuting to diffrent parts of cyprus. I will surely recommend this hotel to those who like value for money.
But there was a guy called JOE at the reception who was very rude, not very helpfull, saying hello, good bye and attending to customer seems a big task for him . Customer service from him is zero. He should be working behind the sence and not attending to customers. He deoes not care. Apart from this , this is a great hotel to stay . Thanks

Got back yesterday from a weeks stay at the Agapinor hotel,
On the whole this is a decent hotel for what you pay, we were greeted by Joe when we arrived who explained things and checked us in and was very helpful. Our room was clean, spacious and basically what you would expect from a hotel room. The staff at this hotel are very friendly and very helpful and an absolute credit to the hotel. The food in my opinion was ok with some days being better than others but on the whole petty good.
All in all we enjoyed ourselves and would like to thank the following staff
Joe on reception, Ann, Maria, Mironel, Ivan,Gertrudes, and anyone else I may have forgotten.

After a short transfer arrived at the Agapinor. Well greeted and was as expected for the room. Clean and well presented. Meals were fine with sufficient choice and quality and quantity also good.
Everything went well with friendly staff (even the 'foreign' ones, ie non Cypriot)
Position of the hotel was good as the bus stopped right outside and we travelled all over on our weekly 15 euro ticket.
All in all we had a very good stay and were not dissapointed with excellent value for money.

Room Tip: pay the extra for the sea view but the quadruple glazing on the road side still ensured a quiet nigh...

will keep it short as it wasnt for us but others enjoyed it. stayed early december so very quiet. mostly older couples or singles who seemed to be there for a few weeks with a few younger ones for the week. we didnt like the food, not a lot of choice ,tinned veg, fruit was clementines ,clementines and more clementines but cheap to eat out anyway. 15-20 mins walk to pubs but maybe not for anyone with difficulty walking. only 2 nights entertainment so boring on hotel at night. resort too quiet for us at this time of year.

Just back from a 10 night stay.
The room was clean and spacious and the beds comfortable . The bathroom was also of a reasonable size and looked as though it had been recently refurbished.
All of the staff were extremely courteous and helpful and the reception staff were very welcoming at all times.
The food was good with a varied evening menu of three hot dishes as main course and several different salads. All food was from a buffet.
The breakfast was also good but I will point out that the bacon and sausages were Cyprus style - they are not as we know them in the UK.
At breakfast there were either scrambled or hard boiled eggs on the buffet and fried eggs were available on request.
Overall, this was a very pleasant stay in a clean hotel with good food and excellent service
