the tomb of the kings is a place you must see while your in paphos, there are some amazing underground tombs and tunnels that you can walk through, tombs 3 and 4 are trully awesome, with the big pillars and then rooms of different tombs going off a large courtyard, you can really get a feel of what it was like thousands of years ago.

its quite a large site, so if you want to see it all properly it will take you about 1 and a half hours, but try to avoid going in the middle of the day if its hot, there is not much shelter apart from actually inside the tombs, i am quite fit but it tired me out with all the steps and walking around, so i wouldn't recommend it for young children.

it cost 3.40 euros and you get a guide book for free, and it was the best theing i did on the holiday, well worth a visit,

This place is great! A sprawling site and very interesting. It was quite hot when we got there but we spent quite a lot of time walking around. And it was very inexpensive and very close to our hotel. One of the best sites in Paphos in my opinion!

We had a great time at this place. It is worth a visit and the tickets are very cheap too. You can also find a guide a book at the ticket counter which gives every detail about each individual tomb. However, going there before noon would be a good idea if you want to escape the scorching heat which can be very troublesome at such sites.

Being into history and culture, I was pleased to be staying only a few miles from this site, as after my first impressions of Cyprus, I needed a wow factor to make my holiday more memorable. After previous visits to famous sites in Italy where areas are rich in history, I wanted Paphos to be more than just another tourist resort otherwise I could of just of well been anywhere. Tomb of the Kings is a must if you are remotely interested in the past and you can spend hours here if you go early. I arrived just after 9am when it was cool, and peaceful, the hoards of visitors didnt start arriving until after 10:30, and you get to relive the past in your own time and study in facisination the relics and catacombe type caves which reminded me of something from raiders of the lost arc!

At 1 euro 70 cents it was also relief that this was an inexpensive attraction, seeing that the pound is so weak against the Euro currently you need to watch every penny whilst abroad in the EU at the moment.

From our Costa Concordia cruise visit to Cyprus in February 08,
I'm glad we purchased the tour to Paphos. Our guide Birgitta was very helpful & if you are visiting from a cruise ship hopefully she will be your guide also for English speakers. This area is quite interesting for all history buffs. It's a bit strange to drive past all the modern buildings & developements in Paphos & then come up to the shore at this site. It is nice that at least this place won't be developed! You'll appreciate this place with it's ancient history as you can see modern developement all around it.

Cyprus itself is a very fascinating island. Birgitta gave us a splendid commentary of its' history, ancient & modern. As a native Californian, I enjoyed seeing the orange groves on our way to Paphos. The drive through the British military base is also very interesting. Looked like a good duty spot to me!
