What a fabulous hotel we choose. Christmas in Cyprus did not seem like the most attractive option, leaving family and friends behind, but it was a real bargain, and after not getting a real holiday in 2007 we thought we’d treat ourselves.

The hotel itself is well-maintained, doesn’t look brand new but the interiors of the rooms and the lobby, restaurant bars are kept up nicely. Its more of a classic hotel than anything, which may not be your kind of thing if you are looking for a hotel full of youngsters.

The service was alright, good food always readily available and the waiters were always smiling. Reception staff couldn’t do enough for us! Maybe this was because the hotel wasn’t all that busy, but for the week between 24th and 1st it was packed! Our room was clean, spacious, with a nice view of the not so nice weather although we did have a few days of sunshine, hot water, cable TV heating, hot pressurized water, what more could you ask for? The Christmas and new years eve entertainment was great! I personally cant see how belly dancing and ballet relate to the festive season but it was fun nonetheless. We also witnessed a Cypriot wedding party which was fun.

A very good hotel in general.

Arrived at 10pm. They didnt have any food kept for us even thought the restaurant only shut at 9.30pm! On entering the foyer it was very impressive and looked like a four star but when we went to the rooms well they were only 3 star standard. The toilet in my room was leaking and when i went to report it was told that there were no other rooms available and that someone would be up in the morning to fix it. Someone did come to fix it later the next morning. The rooms were in need of updating andthe electrics were not that good as when i switched on the light above the bed it made a buzzing noise and smelt a bit!!! Rooms were a good size and they had a TV althought the english channels were only on for about one hour each day (5-6pm) The outdoor pool looked very nice but needed cleaning around as there were cigarette butts everywhere and debris. It was too cold to swim in though. The indoor pool was nice and heated (not much) but be careful as there is a loose tile around the pool and would be easy to trip up. The food was nice but not much choice for children especially if they fussy eaters! It was always hot and plenty of it although it was always meat based and stodgy. The bar is waiter service and that is very nice to be seated and served (as long as they not too busy) and most of the staff as very nice especially the polish girl called Yolanda. The manager of the hotel just walks around smoking and looking grumpy and shouting orders to hotel staff in front of all the guests!! There is a bus stop right outside hotel which is only 80 cents and you can go anywhere for this, it comes every 15 minutes. The beach accross the road from the hotel is awful!! its a building site and has rocks and debris everywhere and dog pooh!! We went to coral bay beach and this was a bit better but also very scruffy but maybe that was because we were there in the Cyprus winter and they dont clean the beaches then? Paphos harbour was very nice with lots of restaurants that seemed reasonably priced. The shops were expensive in theis area. We had some entertainment on christmas eve but that was about it and of you have children with you they can become very bored at night!! Overall we had a good time and made our own fun. I would not go there again. I am a Travel Agent and would not recommend this to my clients unless they were a stag party (they have a topless strip club next door to hotel)!!)

We have just returned from the Avlida hotel. We stayed there for 2 weeks in the end of October and we really enjoyed our stay in this wonderful hotel. The hotel area is very nice and lovely. Service was excellent and the choice of food was amazing not only in choice but also the quality. All staff very friendly and helpful and the entire hotel is exceptionally clean. The pool was nice, but we always went to the beach, which is located near the hotel, you just need to pass the road to get there. The hotel is located in Pafos tourist area, so it is very convenient if you are looking for entertainments. I and my husband went out to tourist area 2 or 3 times to some really nice restaurants.

The wife and I have visited Cyprus quite a few times over the years but we always went to Limassol as it is more central. This year we choose Paphos and the Avlida as we found a good deal for it and we would like to see other places too. We were very impressed.A comfortable, clean and pleasant hotel.

Staff were very friendly, food was very very good, always hot and plentiful on a buffet basis. The dining room was very attractive and nicely decorated. The entertainment was ok, seeing as we were slightly out of season I suppose this should be accepted. But we did see a cyprus dancing night which was fun, and karaoke and singing was also ok.

The pool was lovely. The rooms were of good size and could easily accomdate another adult or two children. Pafos itself is absolutely lovely, just a short walk away to the main seafront and the road there is full of shops and eating places.

We would recommend this hotel for a quiet relaxing holiday.
