“Terrific village but be careful in picking you apartment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

This is a well-kept and nice looking complex with a hotel and a village of small houses located right at the ocean. The houses have one bedroom, a small kitchen part, and a balcony. You can sleep there with four or five people (you have to change the couch and chairs into beds). Some of the houses are located at the seaside or on the side and these have a very nice ocean view and are quiet. Other houses are located inside the village and these have no view at all, they look at other houses or the lanes in between the houses (nice flower trees though). Avoid the houses that look out at the pool, you will have a lot of noise from the pool and late at night from the entertainment (disco etc). Also avoid the houses on the eastern outer side because of the smell coming from the sewer further down. The staff is very flexible in relocating by the way. The food is good for large buffet kitchens like these and the service is terrific. There is a lot of entertainment but it is low-key and fun. You can withdraw from all of this fun if you want by moving from the pool to the beach where you can relax on sun chairs on the green grass. This is a place that is terrific for families with children.

this hotel was so pretty, rooms spacious. beach area clean and no fighting for sunbeds no matter what time of day. All staff very helpful, would definatley stay here again so peaceful. My brother hurt his foot and had to go to hospital and the reception staff were very helpful in letting us know where to go and the Thomson rep that was on duty that day. rooms facing the sea are best, but our room was just as good down one of the pretty walkways.

Room Tip: sunbeds on the beach area the best, views great.

We have just returned home after our second stay at the Kefalos and it was every bit as good as our first visit. We stayed on a bed & breakfast basis and the buffet breakfast is excellent with so much choice. The apartment we stayed in was spotless and cleaned daily. The sea view is superb and the rest of the complex is excellently maintained. We will definitely be returning again in the future

we got married under a beach gazebo at the kefalos on the 27th April this year and it was the most perfect place we could have picked! we loved the village feel as there were so many places to take really unique pictures of us and the wedding guests, the sun was shining and sea so calm and beautiful. When we arrived we were treated to bubbly in the room and a fruit basket and we were staying in a sea view bridal suite looking down to the gazebo where we got married (perfect for spying on my groom!). we also came back on the wedding night to rose pettles on the bed.
The staff are so friendly and helpful and Elena and her team made sure the day went like a dream... it was perfect from start to finish! they will also give you a lot of flexability with unique personal touches (like releasing wedding doves after the ceremony or having music on ipod instead of a dj etc) so your wedding is very much tailored to you and your budget!
the rooms are also very clean and come with microwave, fridge, hob etc. we found the fridge very useful for storing our wedding bubbly!
i can't recommend this place enough for the stunning views, location, friendly staff and great service... both as a holiday hotel and wedding venue!

Room Tip: pay a little extra and book a sea view room... you are so close you can hear the sea when you wake u...

We needed a holiday and staying here helped it to be a great holiday. The 1 bedroom seaview room, on the ground floor, was simple yet comfortable and provided everything we required. The staff were very friendly and caring. When I reported to the front desk that a lightbulb needed to be replaced, someone was at the room within 20minutes to fix it. That sure beats what most 5 star hotels can do! The view from the terrace was directly towards the sea, and the sunset. The paved pathway to town was between our terrace and the sea. By walking along it we could be in town in about 25 minutes or less. The location of this property was ideal for us because we had the mosaics towards town, and the Tombs of the Kings just a couple of bus stops the other way. We would stay here again!

Room Tip: worth paying extra for sea view

It's a nice little sort of village. You have to be lucky (or pay) to get a nice cottage. But we had a very nice 1. Quiet and central. It looked all rather old, but everything worked. There was an oven, a microwave and a electrical cookingplate.
We were here for our honeymoon and got a complimentary basket full of fruit and a bottle of bubbles from the staff.
They have a really good swimming pool. It's next to the beach. We didn't go in the sea too often though. It's full of rocks and sand. So shoes for in the water are highly recommended! Still, even with them it's no picnic. But then again, the swimming pool is wonderfull. There were plenty of chairs and parasols.
We had bed and breakfast. The breakfast was very English with sausages, bacon, eggs. But also loads of Greek stuff, like feta with honey and nutts. It was every day the same, but there was enough variety. The bread was what stale though.
There are enough places to eat around the hotel. We recommend: Martelli's and Farmhouse tavern. 1 for their pizza's and the other for their somewhat cheap, but good traditional Cypriotic food.
You could get anywhere in Paphos with a 1-way ticket of 1 euro for the bus. The harbour is a less then 10 minute drive. Coral beach (a very nice beach) is about half an hour. Aphrodite's Rock (exceptionally clear water) is more like an hour drive, i think.
Conclusion: We had a wonderfull week in Kefalos Beach Village.

Stayed 25/4/13 - 5/5/13 in room 232 self catering. Room needs updating but can't fault the cleanliness or size of room.

The army of employees make the stay a delight and you will struggle to find anything negative about this hotel or its facilities.

The only negative thing I can think of is the price of bread 2.70 Euros, Cereals 4 - 5 Euros. In fact, to shop in Cyprus for normal day to day food is expensive and it is double what you'd pay in the UK, therefore, try to get the offer of B&B on arrival of 4 Euros (wish I had).

In summary, this is a fantastic hotel and it doesn't surprise me at it's ranking on here. I would definitely recommend my friends and family to go here as you will be hard pushed to find a better hotel for the price in Paphos - in fact, YOU WONT FIND BETTER!
