“Lovely location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

On arrival at the hotel we thought wow but we were a bit disappointed on being sent to our room which was a long way from the main part of the hotel, the room was apparently typically Cypriot in being very basic and out of the 80's but spotlessly clean. The whole complex was clean and well looked after and the snorkelling was great, it was a bit choppy somedays but you could still swim in the salt water inlet pool and in the 2 hotel pools so not a problem, the breakfast was average but better in the restaurant at the top end of the hotel. I don't think the hotel does itself any marketing favours though, we were told nothing on check in, all info was left to the Thompson rep(well worth investing half an hour) room packs would be a good idea with info about the restaurant, menus etc, we stumble led on a fun music/ cocktail night by the pool by accident, and I think the hotel could do more to let you know what's happening. But all said would definitely revisit and we loved a housekeeper she was great and looked after us.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main hotel and a superior as no tea and coffee facilities in standard room whi...

“Cynthina is getting better and better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

I arrived on tuesday 23rd of october for a few days visit. The hotel was perfect,so clean refreshing, staff so welcoming, the management always in hand to help you.Lunch food was excellent At night.Dinner was out of this world .Back at the bar ,the entertaiment was perfect.
Cynyhiana is not only a hotel with the most percentage of repeated customers in cyprus, but most customers regard it as there second home.I agree with them.
Its unique, its perfect.

Room Tip: Saa view of course. In the main buliding if possible, but in cynthiana all rooms have sea view.

“Wake up by the sounds from the sea”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

An average hotel, a bit worn out. Average breakfast with a lot of noise and dull food (last day we found out it was possible to have breakfast in the upper part of the hotel, do that!) The grounds are nice, but you must lay towels before breakfast on sunchairs. Lots of rude russians. Stay away from dinner at the hotel. Use the resturant next door instead or take the bus (every 15 min) to Paphos or Coral bay. Stairs to the sea with very clear water. NO BEACH, but swimming pools for the kids. You must by cold water from bars, the kiosk was not alowed to sell cold water!! But you get 6 botles for the price of one in the hotel at Lidl on the way to Paphos (if you go by car) If you rent a car, go to Polis by E709) Lots of historic placec to see in Paphos.

Room Tip: Choose room against the sea! The view is stunning and you fall asleep to the sound from the waves.

“OK but pretty remote”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

Hotel was booked last minute and we got it for a reasonable price for bed and breakfast. Room was clean and cool. Shower was ok. Housekeeping were very efficient. Only meal we had was breakfast which was a buffet. Nothing outstanding here but plenty of dull food to choose from. No fresh fruit which i found odd or even fresh fruit juice. Location looked beautiful and the coastal view is spectacular. Pool and garden areas were busy early on with loads of Russian guests staying the week we were there. Pool bar was very nice and had a few nice lunches here sitting in the shade. Taxi to Paphos was about £15. Bus is fairly regular into town but the main road is a 15 minute walk up a hill which was fairly unpleasant in the boiling heat. Bus was one euro during the day and two euros at night. The travelling was too much of a pain for me with hindsight so would rather have paid extra to be more central for the week.

“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

We stayed here in September 2011. We did not book a hotel before arriving in Cyprus and called in at practically every hotel in Paphos and a long the cost. The Cynthiana was the most reasonably priced and in a great location being on its own peninsula. We were shown a room in the main building with sea view and although clean it did not excite me too much. The hotel does need a bit of a makeover and I think my face must have shown it as the receptionist took us to the Olympian wing and offered us a room there for the same price. This did the trick and instead of staying two nights we stayed for a whole week. The room was spacious and the view to die for! The staff are very friendly , the Olympian pool very quiet and relaxing and the beach bar fun for watching strong swimmers braving the rough sea. For me- I swam in the calm man made area! I grew quite fond of the Cynthiana.
