“loved the mayfair”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2008

Stayed at the Mayfair Hotel in Pathos,Cyprus in October for two weeks can't say anything bad about it at all.We had a nice room overlooking the pool, clean and tidy, great staff. The food was fab every night best we've had on holiday yet.The entertainment staff we're brilliant a different show every night, but also a good show every night you did'nt want to go out anywhere in case you missed the show, well done all of you. We'll definately go back to the Mayfair.

me and my partner arrived at the mayfair with high hopes.on are first visit to cyprus.and what a let down this hotel turned out to be.situated in a very run down area with only one bar near by and a couple of so called supermarkets. the only plus was that the market and harbour where only 20 mins walk away .the hotel it self bearing in mind did have above average pools.the rooms where small cleaned so so everyday bar sundays and where also full of ants.food was very poor very blend as we went half board .drinks where expensive so drink out two coffees cost 5 euros.entertainment was very cheesey same thing from day to day .hotel staff where pleasant enough.so if you like screaming kids running round blend food and ants in your bed this is for you. otherwise give this hotel a miss..

Like many other people, I have read some of the poor reviews about the Mayfair Apartments and would like to try and advise future visitors that they should not worry and that the Mayfair is fairly good value for money in a residential area that is quite close to the town centre.

From the outside the hotel looks fairly average but inside the reception is large, modern, cool and clean. Check-in was effortless and the route to our room consisted of a walk through a bar, the main pool area, up 2 floors in a small lift, and then along an old looking smoky corridor. The rooms itself was spacious and clean with a king size bed and a decent size bathroom. The balcony view was awful, face to face with the drying laundry and satellite dishes of our Cypriot neighbours.

Food and drink in the hotel was OK and so too was the service. I went with my partner without children but I could not help but notice that the entertainment staff, who are there for over 12 hours a day between them, did a great job of keeping kids of all ages entertained.

The hotel is bang in the middle of a residential area about a 15-20 minute walk away from the harbour and main stretch of bars and restaurants. The area is a working one with supermarkets, garages and partially built houses which is not that picturesque but does have its advantages. All the main bus routes are close the hotel; everything is cheaper than the town centre plus it is quiet on the night.

The Mayfair is a little old and a bit of TLC would not go a miss. However, the hotel deserves its 3 star rating for the other useful services it provides. Paphos is a great place to be all year round and such is its popularity it’s becoming more expensive and the Mayfair is a reasonably priced budget hotel.

The rooms are quite basic and a little shabby but have all the necessities and a balcony which is nice. Try to avoid getting a room that faces the road as the traffic can be quite noisy and carries on through the night. The BIGGEST problem is they only offer BBC 1 on TV. We were hoping for a few quite and relaxing nights in but it's a very boring with only BBC1. There were 2 other channels but they were very fuzzy and when I asked reception they said that's just the way they are and if BBC is working then that's fine. The hotel has a kids club for 5 year olds and up. It offers nightly entertainment. The location is good as it's within walking distance of the harbour and bar street with many restaurants.
I wouldn't recommend the hotel as there are so many better options available.

Really enjoyed my holiday to the Mayfair hotel. The hotel was situated in an ideal location close to the town centre. The room itself was really good and was cleaned fantastically. The staff were also very friendly from the reception to pool bar. The entertainment team, Bex, Coco, Jennilee, AJ, Leighton and Mel, did a magnificent job of keeping me and my family entertained on holiday, with daytime activities and the evening shows. I have stayed in this hotel 7 times in the past 9 years and everytime has been very enjoyable.

We have just returned from a half board holiday at this hotel which we found to be a poor example of Paphos hotels.
For the evening meal there was plenty of self service food but the quality was not always good if fact some days was very bland. The breakfast was very good with a large choice.
The hotel is set in a very poor area with only one bar locally. The hotel bar was expensive. Although we book a superior room the was very pain there was no hot water after 3pm.
As older travellers we found the location of the hotel very inconvenient and had to hire a car to get enjoyment from this holiday.
I could only recomend this hotel to families whos only wish was to remain in the hotel and use its excelent swimming and gym facilitiers

Well, where do i start about our stay in the Mayfair. Myself, my husband and my children loved it. This is the second time we have stayed here.
we had a ground floor room near the small childrens pool, it was perfect for our small children. We initially stayed at the Mayfair half board but after the first week decided to go all inclusive as it worked out a lot cheaper.
The food was lovely, had enough choices to suit everybody. The waiters/waitresses were all very friendly and made you feel welcome.
My daughters loved the entertainment every night and joined in with all the fun and games with AJ, Bex and Coco. Mind you, me and my husband also got roped into some of the games. It was a laugh!!
Definately are hoping to go back next year if we can afford it.
