“12 years on!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2011

What can I say about the King Jason that has not already been said in other reviews? We stayed there for 2 weeks Jan/Feb and was greeted by Andreas, it was as if time stayed still!! We first stayed there 12 years previously and the greeting was the same, the people were the same and so were the cats(well maybe not the same cats). Nothing had changed after all these years. Standards had not dropped and Andreas, Maria etc were still wonderfully attentive to everyone.
I don't know their names but anyone who have been there will know who I mean, the gentleman who always wore a cream jacket at reception was amazing and arranged a hire car for us and the car was with us within the hour (unlike Thomson's rep who couldn't get us a car till the Saturday....this was Thursday NOT IMPRESSED). The car was a better price than Thomsons and was excellent, no fault to be found at all. The fields in and around Paphos are full of hire cars waiting to be hired, come on Thomsons!!! Sorry back to KJ....The bar staff were also great and always had a smile when you walked in, nothing was too much trouble for them but I do agree it was a little pricey. We didn't try the restaurant but that is because my husband is difficult to feed lol but it was not held against us for not eating there. We spent a good deal of the time in small tavernas in a little village outside of Paphos called Mandria where the food was much cheaper than in town and really really excellent. Must mention the Keg and and Barrel pub just off bar street great for all your rugby games and they now do a limited food menu. Well done Pana and Theo for the warm welcome as ever.
Would I go back to KJ? You bet I would in a heart beat. I do hope that Andreas or any of his staff look at the reviews because they are a testament to all their hard work, even thought they make it look effortless and that they are genuine in their need for you to have a good time. The little gifts they left in our room, bottle wine 1st night, Champagne 2nd night and honey on departure was so appreciated. Well done to the Louis hotel chain, you have a little gem in this hotel and staff, cheers to you all.

Only managed to fit in 3 nights but will certainly return for more, upgraded to half board for 2 days after seeing the breakfast & evening meal choices, great value & fantastic food.

The Louis King Jason hotel blew us away with its hospitality and friendliness. I've never felt so pampered as the whole hotel team seem to have the aim to make every moment perfect. We stayed in a spacious, clean and comfortable apartment with wonderful views to the sea. We were booked in for bed and breakfast, and were so happy that we'd done that. Breakfast was amazing, it seemed like we had about a hundred choices of lovely fresh food. Dinners at the hotel are buffet style too, with lots of choices. I don't eat meat, so only tried the fish which was tender and well flavoured. The first night we had dinner, we were tempted to eat too much, so scaled down the second time and didn't go so mad with the amazing range of desserts! The manager Andreas Kyriacou is very keen that everybody has everything they want and enjoys their meal, he's a lovely, friendly presence at mealtimes. Although the hotel is a short walk away from the harbour, it's a little oasis of calm and tranquility with a delightful poolside area and terrace. I stayed here with my mum, we'll definitely be going back and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed here from the end of January to the beginning of February. When we entered the posh, spacious lobby we knew we were going to enjoy ourselves here. We were greeted by friendly reception staff and as we were filling out our details a porter suddenly appeared behind us with a tray of complimentary fresh orange juice and homemade biscuits. We were then taken to our room, which was a nice clean twin with an attractive view from the balcony and a well-equipped kitchen. We didn't have to ask for anything extra at reception as we had everything we needed. The only thing wrong with it was the shower, which tended to judder as the right temperature was reached. I found I was better off using the one in the gym, although it was a little cramped. Speaking of the gym, it was adequate but not brilliant. Out of the 5 pieces of cardiovascular equipment there, only 2 of them worked properly: the treadmill and the rowing machine. The computer didn't work on one of the bikes and the step machine and other bike didn't work at all. In the weights section, all the weights on the machines were stuck together, probably through lack of use. The indoor pool was nice and warm, but not ideal for swimming as it was a bit on the small side and an octagonal shape, but it was nice when the jacuzzi was on. Of course we didn't go in the outdoor pool as it was the middle of winter. In the bar area they do free wine tasting one Friday, then free cocktails the next Friday, and so on. Oh and there were rather a lot of cats, which were friendly enough but they were a bit of a nuisance. Sometimes they followed us to our room and tried to get in which my wife didn't like. You may be woken up by bells from the nearby church at 6:30-6:45am. Not that I have too much of a problem with that as we are both bellringers! And they sound rather nice.

Paphos itself is a lovely resort with a beautiful harbour and no shortage of shops, bars and restaurants. Kato Paphos was rather dead at the time of year, but the harbour area was busy. The best supermarket is probably Papantoniou near the harbour, which is a bit like Tesco's.

If you want somewhere to eat on the first night, I would strongly recommend Romeo's, just down the road round the corner from the apartments, on Agapinoros. The owner, Phytos, is a top bloke and is a natural in making people feel welcome and want to come back. Well, it worked for us! The food there is also excellent. But if you are a non-smoker like us and if you do go make sure you try and get a table on the TV side of the room as it is also popular with locals (one of which looks exactly like Barney from The Simpsons) who like to have a good smoke, even though there is a "no smoking" sign just there. When we went one night is was my wife's birthday and they came out with a big cake and sang Happy Birthday. Also if you frequent the place you are likely to get a lot of free wine!

If you decide to go at the time of year we went, it won't be a "shorts and t-shirt" job like some people thought. It'll be cooler than you think! Especially if you go up to the Troodos Mountains.

We only stayed for 4 nights at the King Jason hotel. We were upgraded as the hotel was quiet - we were supposed to be staying in studio apartments and were moved to 1 bed apartments for no extra cost. Andreas and the staff were very friendly and informative. We booked an excursion through them at no notice and they managed to get it sorted for us even though it wasn't available for another 3 days! The indoor pool was lovely, warm and clean and the indoor shop was useful for little bits and bobs. It was a little bit of a walk to find big shops etc and the taxis were expensive. I would return there again for a relaxing break.

What a lovely place - and what a fantastic friendly service we had (especiall Andreas, who was very friendly) . It was my birthday and my husband ordered a cake - the management gave me a bottle of bubbly! Wine in the room on arrival and a jar of honey for us to take with us. Lovely spacious, clean apartment. Enjoyable walk to restaurants, etc in evenings. Only thing we would say was the drinks in the hotel were very expensive, but I know this happens everywhere. We were even blessed with lovely weather for the time of year.

Was greeted very warmly when we arrived, and throughout our stay the manager and staff can't do enough for you. The room was nice with great views. And the hotel is in a ideal spot for getting anywhere, there is a short walk to the front/harbour where there are lots of shops and restaurants.
Overall our holiday was fantastic, i will highly recommend this hotel to anyone!
