From start to end this hotel and all its staff were exceptional.
My daughter had her birthday the day after arrival and after asking Maria in the restaurant if they could perhaps supply a small and simple cake to mark the occasion she asked what flavour would be preferred and we were treated to a huge chocolate gateaux which was brought from the kitchen with a lit candle and staff singing happy birthday. We were told to keep the rest in our fridge for later as between 6 of us we could only manage to eat half.
The food was excellent - a couple of themes were a bit too adventurous for my (quite fussy) children but they were always able to eat and enjoy something. I did notice one mother asking staff for something entirely different for her children and this was done with no problem and wasn't just a freezer standby but a proper meal cooked to specification.
All the staff knew my childrens names after just a few days and they were always talking to them and playing with them, one also encouraging my youngest to eat up a bit more before pudding.
There were plenty of sun loungers round the pool so no need to get up at 6am to bag a seat - generally we didn't surface till around 9 and there were always beds free.
I'll disagree with another reviewer and mention that the rooms we had were cleaned/tidied every day with towels being replaced whenever requested by leaving them on the bathroom floor. We didn't need every towel replaced every day so when we hung one up, it didn't get replaced. On a few days we turned maid service down as we were happy with how the rooms were and without exception we were always asked if we needed new towels/toilet roll/bins emptied. The poor girl that got landed with our room had to twice remove wet linen after my son had wet his bed and there was no change to her smiley face, no grumbling or fed up faces, she just got about the business in hand with her usual cheery demeanour.
We stayed 2 weeks and my kids were more than happy with what was on offer - there's not much else on site for littlies to occupy themselves with other than the pool (and tv in apartment) but certainly for us that wasn't a problem. Realistically most people are going to head to the beach or water park at some stage and that's plenty for most.
Given a chance I'd come back to this hotel in an instant and hope I do get the chance again.
