“Extremely enjoyable week at the King Jason”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2011

We booked at the Louis King Jason after reading the good reviews on Trip Advisor. It absolutely lived up to our expectation. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week and would not hesitate to go back.

We are a couple late 40's early '50's and wanted a nice relaxing break in the sun. Firstly , the location is perfect for us . It is in a quite residential area but it is only a 15 / 20 minute walk to the main harbour. Also, given that quite a few of the top rated restaurants were further round the bay from the main harbour area, these were also easily walkable in about the same time as King Jason is positioned centrally for both. If you want to take a cab, it was the minimum €8 charge.

It's also only 20 minutes or so to walk into Paphos old town , though to be honest, we weren't that impressed.

We stayed a 1 bedroom apartment on the second floor. It was clean and comfortable. Hardwood floors throughout so no hard ceramic floors. The furniture was decent quality . The lounge area had a couple of decent sized sofas which could be used as beds if there are 4 of you.

Bathroom had a bath , much to my partners delight, and a shower over the bath.

Good sized bedroom with comfortable twin beds pushed together.

The balcony overlooked the pool although wasn't in direct sunlight but actually I wasn't bothered as it meant it was a little cooler.

Air conditioning units are in the bedroom and the lounge area.

One observation is that you couldn't access the upper floors by lift although there are plenty of ground floor apartments and so if stairs are a problem , I would recommend you make this clear when you book.

Pool area was nice - loads of sunbeds and also quite a bit of natural shade from trees etc... if you want to get out of the sun for a while.

The restaurant and bar are very comfortable and the terrace area is lovely.

We went self catering and preferred to go out at night so we only ate in the hotel a couple of times at lunch , but the food was good and we were told by others that they enjoyed the food.

I can't speak highly enough of the staff. Always friendly, very courteous, helpful and accomodating.

Finally - the cats ! As it happens, we love cats and so for us it was part of the attraction of the place. There are quite a lot of them and some of them extremely friendly. Some were a little timid but they all seemed nice natured. They come up to you on the patio area by the pool and they do appear when you are eating on the terrace. If you do not like cats, you may be put off by this. However, if you ignore them, they will ignore you and they only seem to hang around people who actively show an interest, and quite a lot of us did. In fact we adopted one for the week and fed quite a few of them, though we found out towards the end of the week that one of the staff also looks after them and feeds them.

The manager told us that they are closing in December to refurbish the bathrooms and upgrade the pool area and put in a jacuzzi in the outdoor pool. Good to see they are maintaining the place to their high standards.

In summary, if you are looking for somewhere where there is lots of activities, evening "entertainment" and a raucous place you can let your hair down for a fortnight - then I don't think this is the place for you.

However, if you want a quite , relaxing break in a nice, clean, comfortable apartment in a smart, well-run hotel, staffed by very friendly people (and cats) and where you enjoy a leisurely stroll in the evening to the bars and restaurants, the I can heartily recommend Louis King Jason. We thoroughly enjoyed it, wished we'd booked for longer and will definitely go back.

we stayed here accommodation only for 1 week (end of Sept 2011) and can honestly say it lived up to all the good reviews I read before booking! Extremely helpful and courteous staff with gentle humour, nothing was too small a request for them - and we weren't having meals either! We did dine in on the last night and the food too was excellent - as good as that we had eaten in local restaurants. This area of Paphos is quiet and the hotel facilities are better suited to couples than families with children we think. We hired a car from Petsas (whom we can also recommend !- reliable and cheaper than the tour companies) and went out every day. By some odd technical thing our TV received ITV1 - so I caught up with a few Midsomer Murders episodes whilst cooling off at the end of the day...

The hotel is to be refurbished over the winter months - and we are looking forward very much to going back there before too long. Definately recommend it .

This was our first visit to Paphos, Cyprus. The Louis King Jason has great apartments (we booked a 2 room apartment for 2), nice and quiet environment and superb breakfast and dinner buffets. The facilitities are very good, clean and well maintained. Management and staff are very helpful and really give the feeling that one is an honoured guest. Their personal touch is something we did not ecperience in many 5+ star hotels anywhere else in the world. The outdoor pool is very nice, both for children and adults. And above all: they care for a bunch of cats that are at least as friendly as the staff. We definitely do not intend to stay anywhere else in Paphos (and maybe in Cyprus) than the Louis King Jason.
The fact that the harbour and all the usual tourist attractions are a little bit further away (a half hour's to twenty minutes walk) was definitely an advantage. Within a couple of months we again go to Cyprus and we definitely go to the Louis King Jason again.

My husband and I have recently returned from an 11 night break at the LKJ. I could not fault the service we received from Andreas and his team. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment and took in breakfast. The quality of food was outstanding and plenty of choice for all.
Our apartment did look a little tired but with the hotel due for refurbishments at the end of the year hopefully these will be given a facelift to.
It was our Wedding Anniversary whilst we were on holiday and was suprised to find a bottle of champagne waiting for us on our return from the pool.
Thank you for a lovely holiday, we will be returning to the LKJ next time we decide to return to Cyprus.

My wife and I have just returned from two weeks stay at the King Jason. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave all the staff make you welcome and are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and tidy and is situated in a quiet area of Paphos handy for the harbour area and the old town but away from the more noisy activities in Paphos. We did appreciate that the pool area, which is extensive, was tidied every evening by the staff lining up sunbeds, tables and umbrellas for the next day and every morning the pool area was mopped clean for the new day. We understand that the hotel will have another makeover in the winter and this should enhance the experience. Highly recommended. Our thanks to Andreas and Maria for making our holiday so memorable.

My husband, 2 year old daughter and I are just back from a wonderful stay in the Louis King Jason Apts. On arrival we were greeted by a helpful member of staff who showed us to our one-bed ground floor apt (as requested when booking our holiday). The apt. was freshly painted, very clean and most importantly, was very safe for our little one to roam around in. A comfortable cot was provided for our little lady. The patio doors in the living area and bedroom of our apartment opened up to a pool view and the pools were literally fifteen steps away from our door (doors had safety locks so little ones would not be able to open them). The pools were well maintained, a comfortable temperature, and our little one was in and out of the childrens pool all week and it was just perfect for her. There is a playground located at the rear of the apartments however this is in need to some attention. The apts. are in a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle but yet close enough to the Harbour (15/20 min walk). We had breakfast one morning and found the selection of food and quality to be fantastic and the service was top class. I could not reccommend these apts highly enough, or Paphos for that matter. We had been told that Cyprus was very expensive and were surprised to find that it was very cheap to eat out, one morning we got a very decent english breakfast for €1.20, a three course meal can be found for €11.00. We visited Coral Bay twice during our stay, we had a half day trip on the Jolly Roger boat, visited the bird and animal park, and the Harbour itself is a lovely area...we would reccommend all this and would definately come back again. Thank you to all at the Louis King Jason who made our holiday so special.

Room Tip: We booked our package holiday on-line last January and requested a ground floor apartment and this i...

Just returned from a first class experience at the King Jason. It starts from the moment you arrive with complimentary drink and cake, (also provided while waiting to picked up for the return journey) The manager Andreas and staff are friendly and attentive and provide the extra touches to make your holiday special. The hotel is to be refurbished over the winter and this will make the holiday experience even better. The surrounding area is quiet and residential with a 15 minute walk to the sea front. We stayed half board and found the food realy good with the sweet/desert selction to die for. All in all a first class holiday and we will return.
