We arrived here after the restaurant had closed and not only did they provide a voucher for a meal on our last day (checkout time is 12 but our flight was not until 11:15), there were also sandwiches in our rooms and the reception pointed us to a nearby restaurant for a quick bite to eat... and a welcome beer after our journey! The hotel is lovely. Clean, spacious, the rooms spotless and roomy with excellent Air-Conditioning. We had a couple of adjoining rooms on the pool side of the hotel and it was great to sit on the balcony in the evening. We watched the entertainment a couple of nights, but preferred to listen to it while we played cards or whatever. As others have said, it was variable but there were a couple of very good singers and the Greek dancing was a lot of fun! All the staff in the hotel were so friendly. They were attentive at all times and couldn't do enough for us - especially in the restaurant.... which brings me to the food. We had booked Half Board because it was the same price as B&B. We figured that we would eat out some nights, eat in the restaurant on others..... Well we actually never went out to eat at all, the food was so good. It was a buffet set-up as you would expect, but the food was themed each night and well presented and cooked. Everything was clean and tidy and the waiting staff were lovely. The selection of salads for starters was really impressive and my wife and I ate far more desserts than was good for us!! The hotel is set in extensive grounds and it was good to be able to cool down under the trees. The pool area was clean and tidy and the pool bar very efficiently run. What else? The sea is only a short walk away and we did venture down there a few times. There's a Blue Flag beach 150M away and the water was very clean. There are Jet Skis and various watersports to try and the harbour is just a 20 -25 minute walk away along the shoreline. This path will probably be finished in time for next year. The suface hadn't been paved fully when we went, but it was fine and the low level lighting all the way to the harbour was a neat touch.... Back to the hotel, there was a "meet the management team" evening on the terrace which I thought was a really nice touch. A free drink and some nibbles, but better, an opportunity to meet the manager, owner and other senior staff. They seemed genuinely keen for us to tell them how we found the hotel - which, along with the Avanti Village, is famiy owned and run - and it shows! All in all a fabulous holiday in a lovely hotel. I heard someone say that Paphos is a bit "soulless", but frankly I didn't find it so. The harbour is charming, if a little "touristy" (but what else would you expect) and all the hotels along beach are beautifully kept, clean, new and fresh. The bus service is excellent. One euro each way to the harbour or Coral Bay (which is a good beach a little up the coast), or for 2 euros you can buy a day ticket. Bargain. The buses are all brand new and run regularly about every 20 minutes. Personally I couldn't fault any of it. We don't generally have a habit of going back to the same place twice, but Paphos and the Avanti Hotel have certainly given us something to think about on that account. If you're thinking of booking a holiday here, don't hesitate, just go for it. you won't be disappointed. when we were there the hotel was completely full, but it never ever seemed at all crowded. The owner told us they had permission to build an extra wing on the hotel but decided to just leave it as it is and keep the space..... which I think shows that these owners at least, are not just interested in making money but really want to provide a good service.... And in my opinion they have succeeded.
