Lets start by saying this was our first experiance with all enclusive through Thompsons. The hotel is not much to look at & is at the far end of the beach front strip which makes walking down towards the harbour quite a hike. They have no beach as such just a pebbled ocean front with palm trees. The hotel has rooms which look out over the sea on one side & others over the road & tennis courts our room looked out over the swimming pool & the sea which was terrific during the sunset. The rooms we found acceptable if a little bland but they do have A/C the beds are a little hard & if you have a family with kids a bit cramped. They do not have in room tea & coffee making facilities but then they do not need any as everthing is on tap all day for you. The televisions were old style tubes but I am told some rooms have flat screen TVs, they have no real English speaking TV channels to choose from except news. The rooms were kept spotless cleaned everyday with a change of towels as well which is not always the case elseware.
That said the hotel makes up for its shortcomings with its sheer delightful staff, animation team & food. The staff are excellent they are attentive & very informative, the bar & resturant staff are a joy with nothing to much bother but the highlight has to be the animation team ran by the "charasmatic" Dido who work long hours everyday entertaining the holidaymakers with games & quizzes & terrific shows on an evening & there boundless enthusium is not easy to do & maintain. We loved "Milli" the male singer who performs in the Atrium bar a couple of times a week & many thanks to "Kirsty for getting us up off our sunlougers to take part in the silly games shes fantastic. The hotel has a main resturant area where all the food is served on a buffet style the variations are to numerous to mention but there range of food is extensive wonderfully presented. The serve the food from early morning as breakfast, then bites around the pool, then lunch, more bites around the pool including an Aisian bar with oriental fare then on to dinner & to finish off up to midnight light bites in the resturant for those who have not had enough. The coice a vast & there is always a food bar for kids & some vegitarian choices as well.Drinks are free although you may pay for some cocktails, the local larger Keo is nice but after midnight you have to pay for everything.
As I have said the hotel is a little far from the main harbour but right outside tha hotel is the local bus which for two euros a day will allow you to be at the harbour in about five minutes, this all day pass enables you to use the buses all day.
The hotel has two large pools the only draw back is that they are not heated & can be very cold you need to take your own beach towel as they do not like theres being used, one of the pools is where the daytime activities are held with the terrific animation team & the pool bites are the pool is quieter but does have the new slide complex joined on to it & it will be noisy in the summer when its open. There is many playground areas for kiddies dotted aound the hotel which are not always supervised but the kids clubs with the animation team means that they will be. They have an excellent gym, jacuzzi, sauna & steam room complex with a indoor heated pool if the water is to cold outside, towels are provided & again this area is well supervised.
The "Chariots nightclub" is where all the nightime activities are held usually kids discos then games for the adults & kids followed by cash bingo. After that the superb animation team present a variety of songs from hit shows which are fantastic & then there is the Dido fire show which is not to be missed.
Upstairs is the Atrium bar & a coffee shop for all your needs wether its pre meal drinks, snacks or coffee & tea at anytime of the day or maybe listen to "Milli" the terrific young singer play his guitarin the evening somwhere to chill out after a days eating.
This hotel with its brilliant animation team & staff is fantastic, not for a quite holiday but if you have a family & want some good food & great entertainment this is for you I would recommend this to anyone its tremendous food & entertainment are second to none.
I give a special thank you to Dido & his animation team Kelly, Kirsty, Keby, Charlotte, Ash, Milli, Karbula, Billy, Jaz, Emily, James & Cassie who made our holiday such fun many thanks guys.
