Wow, what a lovely hotel. Staff all lovely, not overly snooty but still make you feel special. as soon as you pull up the bellboy comes to take your bags, you check in & are welcomed with a cool drink. the rooms are beautiful, rose petals in the bath. pool area is fabulous & swim up bar is brilliant, keeps you cool & yet sun bathing at the same time. Really lovely lovely place

My husband and I went there on our honeymoon in 2005 and we loved the Elysium. Breakfast was a feast. Chilled face cloths given out whilst we lay on the sun loungers on the private beach. Staff were extremely diligent. We are going back in two weeks' time. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We booked the Elysium hotel after staying many times in Paphos at the Amathus beach. We realised that the Elysium was on the other side of town at that the area may be quieter (which it was). The hotel is in the façade of a castle and has excellent rooms as well as public area's. Service is generally of good quality. However there are many children between the ages of 6 and 12 that are allowed to run wild by both there parents with no sanction by staff or management. This makes having a relaxing afternoon by the pool impossible. Therefore you have to move far into the gardened area to avoid the noise. The same can be said if you have a seaview room overlooking the pool for which you pay extra. All you hear is screaming and shouting and although I am sure the children are having fun it hardly creates the atmosphere of a five star hotel! As for the prices I am sure you have read about them before in previous reviews. I knew about the high prices and therefore made my own decision to come to the Elysium. However when they charge €130 / £100 + to keep you room on if it extends after 14:00 I consider it a rip off. Especially after they have had you business for a week. My advise: if you want a holiday where you do not want to hear children running wild all day and pay over the top for the privilege do not stay at the Elysium.

In my opinion the hotel has the potencial to become a real luxyry hotel but needs a lot of work since the service level has to be improved.
