My boyfriend and I visited the Amathus Beach Hotel last spring and were pleasantly surprised with it. We had searched for a while online so it was a bit of a gamble as neither if us had been there but we would highly recommend it.
The hotel has a lovely large pool area with a fantastic selection of restaurants and great outdoor seating area for a cocktail in the evening. My only gripe would be that the hotel bar wasn't open very late. Even if we wanted to stay and have a drink it two after dinner they shut the bar regardless.
The staff were extremely helpful and always made you feel welcome which we really appreciated. Some of the rooms, however, need upgrading. We booked on the basis of the rooms that were advertised on a number of websites and these turned out to be the luxury upgraded rooms. The standard ones are very different and pretty dated. Apart from that a lovely hotel!
