Having spent 2 superb weeks in the Amathus over the Easter period (31st March to the 14th April) I felt it only right to share with you the outstanding service, facilities, food and most importantly the memories we will never forget. This holiday was a little different for us having decided to get married at the hotel after days (if not months) of research thanks to the excellent reviews on tripadvisor - and they were spot on!
From the minute we arrived at the hotel, we were warmly greeted with refreshments and informed we have been upgraded to a sea view room. The rooms were huge, excellently decorated and furnished and had a lovely view looking out to sea towards the castle at the harbour where we spent many an evening prior to go going down for dinner.
Similarly the high standards and decor did not stop in the room, the whole hotel from the bars to the pool was impeccibly clean and stylishy presented. We stayed at the hotel on a half board basis and as a fussy eater and struggling to eat in so many hotels in the past, I was delighted to say that they catered for literaaly everyones needs and if there wasn't anything the staff would go out of their way to cook you something. I have never eater so well and after the first week we were both concerned that we wouldn't fit in our wedding attire.
If you are thinking of getting married, make sure you choose the Amathus. Our family and friends stayed at other hotels (I won't name names) and despite my somewhat biased judgement, there is simply no comparison in terms of the time, quality and attention to detail that the Amathus put into their weddings mainly thanks to Marrios the hotels wedding planner and his devoted team. Everyone of our requests from tailoring a menu again to my fussy needs, to decorating the tables and gardens was completed to the highest standards and they even managed to order sunny blue skies on what was horrendous weather up until 20minutes before the ceremony :-). We got married in the gardens, had a cocktail reception in the NuBar and the reception meal and disco in the Orangery terrace. We would'nt have changed a thing. Thank you Marrios.
Following the wedding the hotel made us feel very special by decorating the bed in petals and providing breaky in bed the following day, inviting us to a complimentary candlelit a la carte dinner, endless bottles of champagne as well as vouchers for the spa facilities which the wife thoroughly enjoyed.
I really can't fault a thing. If you have any questions about getting married in Cyprus we would only be too happy to share with you our experiences. If you need a photographer Dimitri Katchis is quite simply a different class and Ruth at paphos prestige weddings (our wedding organiser) knowledge and expertise was second to none,
