“Brilliant Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2014 via mobile

Still at this lovley hotel, 4 plus weeks into a 6 week stay.
Quality 5 * hotel with a comfy feeling. Perhaps not as posh or smart as a modern new hotel offering 5 * but all the small limitations are made up for by the brilliant staff. Every member of staff is happy, friendly, cheerful and talkative. They all without exception want to help and be the best which they are.
By far the best all round 5* hotel we have been to. Yes the hotel in parts, like the bathrooms could do with a revamp but overall the atmosphere and culture by far make this hotel better than a new posh hotel where the staff are perhaps cold and look down thier noses. This hotel simply ouzes quality.
Designed for the older couple, not really suited for kids, but not trying to be all things to all. If your 50 plus want a lovley holiday with service but with no kids 5his is the place to be.
Location close to Pafos hourbor it is really good.

It was our first visit to the Annablle and we weren't disappointed. The hotel is approximately a 20 drive from the airport and a 15 minute stroll to the harbour and castle where there are many restaurants and bars.

The hotel is set well back from the road and faces the sea, so is very quiet.

We had booked a sea facing room but were very pleased when without asking we were upgraded into a room with a private terrace.

The clientele was predominantly British elderly with many of them seeming to stay for a number of weeks and for many of them it was for repeat stays. Elderly they may have been but that didn't stop the early rush to get towels down on the sunbeds.

There was nightly entertainment in the bar/lobby that did get busy, however it was technically the winter and I'm sure in the warmer months the pool and gardens are openned up too thus relieving pressure on the lobby.

Staff were excellent - friendly, helpful and efficient.

Food - buffet style so did get a bit busy, however the food quality, standard and presentation was very good.

Room Tip: Take a room with a sea view - it is worth the extra cost

We have just returned from our first experience of the Annabelle and I must say what a great stay we had. The place, it's facilities and its location are terrific, with the added benefit of being able to visit the Almyra next door at no extra charge.

We were on a full board package but ate out at least once a day. Pinguino, Adelaido and a local Italian were favourites and not expensive.

One thing that anyone visiting in February should be aware of though is the age profile of the other guests. We are both in our mid to late 50s and there were very few families or other guests that were younger - most were 15 to 20 years older, which means that the atmosphere about the place is more M&S than Party Central.

Anyway subject to that comment I would wholly recommend the Annabelle.

we had a couple of concerns ie do not get a room, near the service door as all through the night , staff come and go very noise , however
made our concerns next morning , went for the excellent breakfast , came back was told we could move to a quieter room,no problem.
the food there was an excellent choice even though it was a buffet style , drinks as previously said on other reviews , a bit expensive
however if you went for walk along the harbor drinks in other places were reasonable ,

Room Tip: not on ground floor near lifts

Having stayed at the Annabelle last year for 3wks (Jan/Feb) and enjoyed a wonderful holiday, my husband and I wondered if our second visit would be disappointing. Far from it, we had a truly fabulous time! We arrived home yesterday and have withdrawal symptoms already! We cannot find anything negative to say about our stay. The hotel is lovely. The staff are, without exception, courteous, helpful and efficient. The restaurant staff were always most welcoming, friendly and professional and we would especially like to thank Andreas who gave us such excellent service throughout. We enjoyed every meal. Our room was very comfortable and had a fabulous view, It was kept immaculately clean by our maid,Savoulla. This year the addition of a kettle and a tea/coffee tray was a great boon, extra mineral water could be bought and was delivered to the room. Walking through reception was met with friendly smiles and a warm greeting too from the gentleman doorman. Thank you to everyone at the Annabelle, we hope to see you all again next year.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

My husband and I stayed at the Annabelle for three weeks in January/February 2014 and really enjoyed it. The staff throughout the hotel couldn't do enough for us and put themselves out on so many occasions.
My husband has a wheat allergy and found it difficult at first to find dishes in the restaurant to suit his needs, but as soon as the staff in the restaurant became aware of this, they engaged the help of the chef to create something for him each day, if needed, and Yiannis, the brilliant Food and Beverage Manager, even put into practice a system to label the food to make my husband and other guests aware that the food contained gluten, or was suitable for vegetarians etc. We were very grateful for the wonderful service from the restaurant staff generally, but especially the wonderful George and Nicholay who made our stay so much better for having their friendly but totally professional attention.
Our room was upgraded from a sea view room to a terrace room and although we could see the sea, it was through trees and foliage, but on the whole, we thought the extra terrace area and the fact that we could just walk off our terrace and round to the pool was better than the smaller balcony we would have had if we had just had the sea view room we paid for. The only downside to the room was that we were quite overlooked by other terraces and as the rooms do not have curtains - only wooden Louvre sliding doors, if we wished to have privacy to get changed or have a nap in the afternoon, we had to close the sliding doors which plunged us into darkness. I think that the ground floor rooms at least could benefit from some form of net curtains.
The very comfortable lounge area which is used for entertainment at night was a bit crowded when the hotel was full when we first arrived, so for the first few nights there was nowhere to sit and have a drink and we just went back to our room. Unless we had a very early dinner (which we did not want) we were unable to get a seat to enjoy a drink and listen to the entertainment . We eventually found a quieter bar, adjacent to the lounge, which was nice, but as the evening wore on guests would remove the seats from this bar to take into the lounge to alleviate the seating shortage which meant there was no seating left in the bar and it rather killed the ambiance for those of us who wanted to enjoy a quieter drink away from the entertainment area. After the first week, the hotel wasn't quite so full, so the lounge wasn't so full either and we were able to sit and enjoy a drink at last. It really is a very pleasant area.
We really thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing holiday and hope, sincerely, that we will be able to visit the Annabelle again very soon.

Room Tip: We had one of the corner terrace rooms which had a fair bit of shade from the orange trees in the ga...

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and it was great. Our room was upgraded, and made our stay even more wonderful. I also celebrated my birthday and received a complimentary birthday cake! Only negative is the price of water. Extremely expensive!
