“Excellent property”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

My wife and I just got back from 2 weeks at Paradise Cove. We stayed in the one bedroom villa, Cerulean, and were very impressed with the property and with the service.

Location - the villas are a small development of about 10 buildings near to Kefalos Beach Village and the Elysium Hotel. They are in 2 rows, set back from the seafront by about 50-100 metres. There isn't much of a beach in front of Paradise Cove, although there is a municipal beach a couple of hundred metres along.

The Tomb of the Kings Road is about 5 minutes walk away in the other direction, with lots of eating places and mini-markets for stocking up.

Building - the actual villa was very modern and minimalist in design. However, that didn't make it feel sterile or clinical - just very simple and clean. The lounge/kitchen was a really good size for a one bedroom, and the bedroom size was fine too, with plenty of cupboard space. The bathroom (shower only - no bath) was a bit cramped, but we liked the fact there was also a separate guest toilet.

The sunbathing/pool area was again very simple (bare concrete walls), but a good size. We had 4 people sunbathing sometimes, and it didn't feel overly cramped. In September, the sun was hitting some part of the sun deck from about 10.30 till 6 or so.

The villa was well kitted out, with satellite TV in the lounge, free Wi-fi, and a good range of kitchen appliances, crockery, cutlery etc.

The pool was cleaned every morning (except on the weekend), and the villa was cleaned and fresh towels provided every 3 days or so. Great service.

The owners were living in one of the villas when we were there. It meant that any problems or requests were very quickly dealt with, but they didn't intrude otherwise.

That's all the good stuff. Things we weren't so keen on :

- Eating places in the area. There were plenty of restaurants and English pubs up and down the Tomb of the Kings road, but we struggled a bit to find really good ones - we ended up going into central Paphos or beyond to good places we knew from previous visits.

- Single beds. The villa had 2 single beds. What's more, the design of the beds meant that they couldn't be joined to make a double (believe me - we tried!) . In fairness, the villa description was very clear about this, so we knew it when we booked, but it still seemed a shame.

- Occasional noise from the Kefalos Beach Village, or from some rather boisterous children in a house behind the development. However, this was pretty rare, and certainly didn't spoil the holiday.

This is our fist villa in the Paphos area, and we really liked it. Well recommended.

My wife and I stayed in the 'Marine' villa for our honeymoon a fortnight ago and were really pleased with it. Super clean, very well serviced by the maid (who was very unobtrusive, quick and did a brilliant job), and with all the mod cons (air con, cooker, microwave, very good washing machine, dishwasher, telly, even a PS3). The pool was quite small, but was cleaned every day, fairly private and not overlooked.

The concierge from Meon VIllas was great too and even greeted me by name at the airport without even having to explain who I am.

My only criticism isn't one relating to the villas, as such, but we were a little disappointed by the "beach" nearby. The coastline is not hugely appealing close to Paradise Cove, although there is a path which takes you all the way to the harbour which is fantastic. There are also buses which take you from the main road to Coral Bay (about 15 mins) which is an excellent beach. This is what most people in the area seem to do.

I'd highly recommend seeking out the Harbour as soon into your trip as possible, get to grips with the bus that goes from the harbour to Coral Beach (hop off in the middle for Paradise Villas) and hire a car. Driving in Paphos is a piece of cake and means you can shop at the nearby Lidl (which is brilliant), rather than the laughably extortionate local supermarkets. Lidl is also on the bus route already mentioned.

Great holiday and highly recommended. Check out my photo's! :-)

We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa Turquoise - simply stunning. Modern, spacious and fully equiped.

Owner Antonis and his family live across the road and help and advice is always on hand. The cleaner came every 2nd day to clean the villa from top to bottom and change bed linen and towels. The caretaker was always around looking after the immaculate gardens.

The private pools are ideal and the beach is 3 minutes walk away. There is also a small beachside bar with private sunbeds for use by Paradise residents.

There is a well stocked shop in Kefalos Beach Tourist Village 5 minutes away and if you need a cooked breakfast there is a discount for Paradise residents at their restaurant.

The walk into the harbour is a nice 25 min stroll in the evenings or there is a taxi rank on the main road opposite McDonalds. The bars and restaurants are slightly cheaper at this end of the Tomb of the Kings road and they are very welcoming to tourists (a Cypriot trait - extremely friendly and welcoming).

I would highly recommend Paradise Cove - high quality, private, spacious and modern villas right next to the beach.

This is a little piece of Paradise! We stayed in a 2 bedded villa named Aqua. AllI can say is....STUNNING!!. We were met by the owners mum and shown round the property. It was even nicer in real life than the photos, and the photos are beautiful! Nothing is too much bother for Antonis and I wholeheartedly cannot praise these properties enough. Next years booking already being planned! Thank you Antonis! See you next year!

Just completed our stay at villa Cyan. Truly wonderful villas, top class, spotless and true paradise break. Very reassuring with the owners on hand with excellent service and attention to detail. Have now stayed at both Sapphire and Cyan and these villas are by far the best ever.

We stayed in Villa Periwinkle via James Villas...as per all the other reviews this is a very smart, modern and clean villa. The owners own entry on domegis.com which we were sent as link to review after our stay actually gets several things wrong ! There is an outside shower and sink area and concrete worksurface with a basic portable BBQ, not built in BBQ area. There are three bedrooms and three shower rooms; both the upstairs bedrooms have very small ensuite toilets/showers and the downstairs bedroom has one next to it- actually the largest of them all.
Pool is shallow (1.4m) and water was very warm. 6 heavy wooden recliners provide around the pool but only two basic parasols.

Largely quiet as it is set back from the beach ...but there were several instances of prolonged intrusive P.A announcements from the Kephalos beach complex about 200m away as they ran lunchtime and early afternoon sporting events, also plenty of noise on the Saturday night. The villa does have double glazing and the A/C drowned out most of the rest that night...the wine also helped!

Last 100m of access road is not constructed yet.

Rep. stated a 20 minute walk into town via the coastal path/boardwalk but its much more like 30 minutes. It's unlit but there was plenty of moonlight on the way back but we felt mighty sweaty once we got into town and used the bus after that.

No local information in the villa; access to the 615 bus route which goes from the King of the Tombs road ( 5 mins walk away) into the centre of town, local Dr's , map showing supermarket etc were all lacking.

King of the tombs road full of basic restaurants but we went into town and ate around the harbour each evening; THEO's being our preference.

Would suggest trying to book direct and hiring your own car; be wary of the paying for a full fuel tank and returning it empty unless you intend to explore the island considerably. The airport is less than 20k from the resort.

James Villas need to discuss the welcome pack with the owners...Earl Grey Tea and Tango are not to everyones taste!!

If booking via james Villas be aware that the 10am check out and the 23:30 flight back to Gatwick are a nightmare combination !!!

Cleaner came in twice in the week and changed towels, sheets etc. Excellent.

My partner and i stayed for 2 weeks in the villa marine . From the welcome pack right through to our return taxi back to the airport the service and welcome from both the family onsite and the thomson concierge was excellent . Nothing was too much trouble from the friendly pool guy to the always smiling cleaner.
Whilst on our stay we had requested if we could use our villa for our wedding reception . The family said this would be no trouble at all which helped make our day even more special . Even down to the owner actually delivering a bottle of champagne on our wedding morning .
All we can say is if you decide to book just one villa holiday to Paphos then make this complex your base as they will not disappoint . Any questions on good taxi service or wedding plans please dont hesitate to ask

Room Tip: no tip really needed all the villas offer excellent standards
