My wife and I just got back from 2 weeks at Paradise Cove. We stayed in the one bedroom villa, Cerulean, and were very impressed with the property and with the service.
Location - the villas are a small development of about 10 buildings near to Kefalos Beach Village and the Elysium Hotel. They are in 2 rows, set back from the seafront by about 50-100 metres. There isn't much of a beach in front of Paradise Cove, although there is a municipal beach a couple of hundred metres along.
The Tomb of the Kings Road is about 5 minutes walk away in the other direction, with lots of eating places and mini-markets for stocking up.
Building - the actual villa was very modern and minimalist in design. However, that didn't make it feel sterile or clinical - just very simple and clean. The lounge/kitchen was a really good size for a one bedroom, and the bedroom size was fine too, with plenty of cupboard space. The bathroom (shower only - no bath) was a bit cramped, but we liked the fact there was also a separate guest toilet.
The sunbathing/pool area was again very simple (bare concrete walls), but a good size. We had 4 people sunbathing sometimes, and it didn't feel overly cramped. In September, the sun was hitting some part of the sun deck from about 10.30 till 6 or so.
The villa was well kitted out, with satellite TV in the lounge, free Wi-fi, and a good range of kitchen appliances, crockery, cutlery etc.
The pool was cleaned every morning (except on the weekend), and the villa was cleaned and fresh towels provided every 3 days or so. Great service.
The owners were living in one of the villas when we were there. It meant that any problems or requests were very quickly dealt with, but they didn't intrude otherwise.
That's all the good stuff. Things we weren't so keen on :
- Eating places in the area. There were plenty of restaurants and English pubs up and down the Tomb of the Kings road, but we struggled a bit to find really good ones - we ended up going into central Paphos or beyond to good places we knew from previous visits.
- Single beds. The villa had 2 single beds. What's more, the design of the beds meant that they couldn't be joined to make a double (believe me - we tried!) . In fairness, the villa description was very clear about this, so we knew it when we booked, but it still seemed a shame.
- Occasional noise from the Kefalos Beach Village, or from some rather boisterous children in a house behind the development. However, this was pretty rare, and certainly didn't spoil the holiday.
This is our fist villa in the Paphos area, and we really liked it. Well recommended.
