Six family members (including one vegetarian) visited Cyprus from 28 December 2011 to 4 January 2012. We dined in our hotel on New Year's Eve and on three occasions at the Colosseum. It was recommended to us by Nicholas, Chef/Proprietor of the Ficardo, which was closed during our holiday.
What a find and what a recommendation! The set menu at 15 euros (plus a free bottle of wine for 4 diners), was outstanding. It was difficult to make a choice from so many mouth-watering starters, mains and desserts. Genuine warmth of welcome combined with the use of quality ingredients and cooking flair were outstanding. We are all discriminating diners and all pronounced themselves well-pleased with everything placed in front of them. On one visit my main course was slightly delayed. The waitress was effusive in her apologies and provided a large Keo in recompense. I had the opportunity to play the grand piano whilst waiting.
Nico was most welcoming as was the waitress. Nothing was too much trouble for either of them and Nico regularly checked that the food was to our liking and satisfied himself that it was up to the standard of his culinary flair.
Overall, an outstanding dining and warm experience - one that we shall be anxious to repeat when we next visit.
