“excellent restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2009

We ate at the Rendezvous twice on our visit to Cyprus and it was our favourite restaurant. The first time we went there were12 of us including 5 children. The kids meals were a good size and very tasty. The rest of us had the set menus and again the food was lovely.Wine was 10-15 euro a bottle.Meals were 10 or 15 euro.Play area for the little ones.Staff were very good.
Second visit was just the four of us.With older children we all ordered set menu again. My 11 year old son said they had the best Kleftico in Paphos and the stuffed pork fillet was huge.Again excellent meal, complimentary drink and great service.Bill was just over 60euro.

“Would go again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2009

While visiting friends on holiday in Paphos, who were staying in one of the nearby hotels on Poseidonos avenue, we went for an evening meal in Rendezvous. (We got there by the number 15 bus from the harbour, which stops just outside). The first impression when you walk in is that you are coming into a proper restaurant, with nice china, glassware, cutlery etc. and not just another taverna. Friendly welcome from the staff and quick service on the drinks.

Local wines were 10-15 euros a bottle which is similar to other restaurants in the area. The food is a mixture of international, local and rather curiously they also have a selection of Mexican food on the menu. There were set menus (three courses) of 10 euros or 15 euros. The menus were a bit limited in choice for starters and desserts but there were loads of main courses to choose from and included king prawns, steaks and fresh fish.

First off I had tomato soup. Sounds boring but was homemade and delicious and probably the best tomato soup that I have ever had. For main I had sea bass (on the 15 euro set menu) which again was delicious, although the chips with the sea bass were average. One of my pet hates is having to "dissect" whole fish but the chef had butterflied out the fish to make it easier for the customer to get the fish off the bone - a very nice touch. My wife had the "chilly soup" (spicy veg soup) which she thought was great. For main course she had "polo merida"! (chicken and spicy sauce). This was OK but she did say that the sauce on the chicken was very similar to the soup so she was a bit disappointed because of this. The desserts were very nice.

At the end of the meal, we were offered a free drink or coffee of our choice. Most of us went for a glass of filfar, the local liqueur - similar to cointreau but with a slightly more marmaladey flavour. The total bill for four adults (including two bottles of wine) and one hungry child was less than 100 euros which is very good value for the area considering the standard of food and service.

The main toilets were upstairs via a very narrow spiral staircase. I am not sure if they have a disabled toilet so I would advise you to check on this if that might be a problem.

All in all a great meal and great value.

“Great Value - Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2009

We went to Rendezvous twice during our stay in Paphos. We went there on our first night - it was quite cold outside and the fire inside and friendly waitress appealed to us!

They had a huge range of food available - probably a bit too much - so we picked from one of the several set menus that were available - which worked out significantly cheaper than ordering from the main menu.

The food was great - simple but very tasty! There was also a large selection of wine available. As I noticed with all the restaurants in Paphos - any imported wine is very expensive. The local wine is very cheap and very good. I asked the waitress which wine she would recommend based on the style of wine I like - and she made a superb choice!

The first night we went - the restaurant was quite quiet - it's quite large inside, so maybe lacked a bit of atmosphere. The service was very efficient and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. The second time we went (on the last night of our holiday) it was much busier - the service was a bit slower, but still to a very high standard and the food was still superb!
