Description: It should be noticed that the establishment is a very traditional one, in more ways than appearance. It is an old building of stone and wood. The two dining rooms are decorated with antiques and items from the old household of rural Cyprus. The garden is very pleasant with flowers and herbs growing all around it. The food is traditional and seasonal. We cook everything that can grow in Cyprus, basing a lot of our food on traditional dishes, and wild vegetables, picked by ourselves. We serve Meze, which traditionally means delicate taste, and in Cyprus it is used to mean a variety of delicacies. A typical meze at the 7 St Georges will start with salad and between 6-10 appetizers, this will differ every night but may include, homegrown olives, cured meats, dips and pickles. The meze will continue with a variety of traditional and some times contemporary meat and vegetable dishes. We use only the best meats to provide mouthwatering roasts and succulent casseroles, you can expect to enjoy our now well known Kleftico (lamb or beef on the bone cooked in sealed ovens, succulent) and a vegetarians delight of vegetable dishes, depending on the season they will include, rice stuffed marrow flowers, bumyas (ochra) cooked in a tomato and mint sauce, black eyed beans with home grown marrow, tomato fritters, cheese and vegetable pies. The meze will be about 20 dishes, depending how much one can eat, expect to be surprised and delighted at the array of dishes that will be brought to you over the meal (expect to be eating for about 2 hours), at the 7 St Georges we serve quality food in an informal and comfortable setting, take your time and enjoy the experience.

“Don't miss this wonderful taverna on your visit to Paphos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

A wonderfully relaxing experience with amazing food and wine. Locally sourced organic and seasonal produced cooked well and served in lovely small tasting portions so you sample as much as you wish - the dishes keep coming until you say stop! The pork casserole and beef stifado were particular highlights along with the organic wine which leave you with no hangover too! This was recommended to us and I am almost loathed to share the secret, but this place is somewhere that deserves to be shouted from the rooftops! Thank you :)

“Good quality meze”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

It is a great place, great host, great food with a good quality. They serve meat and fish meze, but fish one is not served every day. If you want to be sure to get it you have to call a day before you go there, as they buy only fresh food. Good price also. They have organic red and white wine which is also good.

“True Cypriot food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2014 via mobile

Where do I start, this restaurant was pure heaven. The host was informative and passionate about his country and his organic food, it showed in the feast we received. We enjoyed every dish and they are many on his meze no menu to look at he just brought out dishes when required. No rush to the evening my girlfriend and I had over 24 dished everyone as good as the last one, the sweets were amazing too. The organic homemade wine didnt leave you with a heavy head either. Please go it will make your holiday as it did ours.

“A Mediterranean gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

Visited this tavern on recomendation from local hotel where we were staying. On arrival we were warmly greeted by Ben who explained there are no menus, just small bites with no hurry to leave. We wanted an authentic mezze meal and we certainly got it here. Dishes on the first course were raisin bread, lettuce and tomato salad, carrot salad, cauliflower salad, olives, beetroot salad, yogurt with coriander, cheese, potato salad and aubergine with onion. Courses that followed included, pork casserole, roast lamb, roast carrots, apple and mango chutney, courgette and egg omelette, rabbit and brown olives, beef, green tomato chutney, roast beetroot, kleftico lamb and roast potatoes, banana cake with caramel sauce and lemon cake with fresh cream. Easy dish was nicely presented and just enough for the 2 of us. The ambience was great, the food was perfect and we would definitely eat here again if we get the chance. Thank you to Ben and Damien for a wonderful experience. If you are near Pathos do go and give them a go, you won't regret it.

“EXCELLENT!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

I can only agree with the other positive reviews on here. We phoned ahead to ask for one of our meals to be fish/veg only and they were happy to help. We were told that there would be a salt baked sea bass and some calamari to go with it. When we arrived Ben told us that he had the fish but couldn't find any nice calamari so had got us some fresh prawns instead. This shows great care and was much appreciated.
The prawns were big and came poached with a herby, citrus dip and the sea bass was lovely.
The selection of starters/dips were amazing and you had a huge chunk of homemade bread to go with everything.
The organic wine was very good and the selection of meat dishes that came out gradually during the evening were just superb!
If you want a relaxing night out with wonderful freshly cooked food and great service then book a table here!
