“Pafian Park Holiday 2013”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

Spent a week here in May/June 2013. Went with 3 adults and 2 teenage boys. The good points were the food, the staff, the pool and the cleanliness. the rooms were a bit basic but fine. The entertainment was on the poor side, mini-disco every evening, followed by bingo, followed by an act or a quiz or some games and maybe some music. The food was fresh and they had a 'theme' night every evening and the Chinese was delicious. The pool was clean and big enough for all who used it and there were enough sunbeds and umbrellas to go round. The rooms and the restaurant were spotless and you would always see cleaners working. All the staff that we came into contact with were polite, helpful and seemed happy. Although there was a small games room, there wasn't a lot to do in the evening for the boys and they did get a bit bored. The hotel is about 10mins walk from the bus-stop and it was up a bit of a hill, but if you took it easy it was fine. It is a good family holiday for those with children under 10, or couples who want a relaxing time.

Just returned from a week in sunny Cyprus. We stayed all inc for £250 each. So expected the hotel to match the bargain that we'd got. We arrived late at night and were greeted by a very friendly hotel receptionist who gave us directions, a map, details and everything we'd need to get our holiday started.
Our room had a sea view and was on the ground floor. The room was basic but all you'd need on holiday. The only flaw was the ants in the bathroom and big ants and spiders around the door and corridor (but the room is out in the open and not part of a block).
The hotel was very clean and the staff were always cleaning up and trying the make it look nice. Staff that we encounted were all very friendly and attentive which made us feel comfortable and welcome.
Drinks were easily available from the bar (served in small plastic cups) with a wide selection, The kiwi kiss was lovely! Drinks that you'd expect from a 3star hotel- beers, wine, altertantive spirits eg almond liquer instead or ameretto. There is a coffee machine with take out cups which is easy to access.
The pool area was very clean and there was always sun beds available. Not the most comfortable sun beds but what we expected. There is a fish foot spa near the pool that was never busy due to it being quite pricey. There is a spa at the hotel near the indoor pool but again it seemed over priced.
The food was good- all you'd expect again from the price we paid. Normal breakfast selection- only thing I wished was that theyd had a pastry selection- croissants etc. Lunch was fine again and you always had a choice of the usual hot foods and salads. Tea had a theme each night and there was lots of choice. Only thing I hoped for was more fish. Desserts not good but then again I never find desserts good in Cyprus.
Unfortunatly the hotel is not in an ideal location with a very small beach (not easy to swim in). No shops nearby but the hotel has a resonable mini market. There is a nice walk along the seafront and if you head left out along it you'll come to a small cove which is nice for swimming in. There is a 5-10min walk up to the main road where there are frequent buses to Pathos Harbour (worth a visit).
There wasnt any rooms available for late check out because they were full.
All in all the hotel was clean, staff friendly, pool nice, room fine and I came back relaxed.
Had other friends there as we were attending a wedding and they all seemed satisfied also.

Room Tip: Ask for upstairs room to avoid ants etc. Also block 10 was pretty good for locationa and view. Block...

After reading reviews was cautious about our stay at this hotel, the hotel, room and staff were great. The choice of food excellent something for everyone, just a few things were not to our liking the climb to the main road(angina hill), Far too many rude Russians, who either do not know how to control their eating habits or their children, Bus fares were cheap 1euro each way, or 3euro for a day ticket, Coral Bay is well worth a visit. We were hoping for a quiet holiday before schools close but not to be , rather too many children. To sum up loved the hotel and staff but for us being outnumbered by Russians (rude, greedy and bombastic) was just too much.

Room Tip: All rooms seem about the same and are double glazed

Me and my parents have been there 2 years in a row because we were so impressed the first time. The rooms are clean and bug free (apart from the odd baby lizard), the beds are comfy and there is air con throughout the room. There are cooking facilities for self catering or half board people, although i would recommend all inclusive as a friend we met there regretted their self catering choice due to expense. The entertainment wasn't great but luckily we arent an entertainment loving family. The reps and people that provide the entertainment are frienldy and there is all sorts going on daily. The chef Agis is absolutely brilliant. there is a wide range of food choices and a kids section, but the options to stay safe, but also try some european food, are there. there is a ton to do around the hotel and it is just a 5 minute walk away from the main bus route. Taxi services (that the hotel will gladly contact for you) have fixed rates so you can't get ripped off and they are reasonalble (last time we went we promnised to use the bus but they were so hot and crowded we broke that within a day). there is a single lift to get from 1st floor to ground level in the hotel and all rooms are in blocks of 8 apartments. There is a main pool and a childrens pool and they are both brilliant and turn into baths after a day in the sun, but there is also a freezing indoor pool which is nice after extremely warm days. The first time we went the heat broke the thermometer! the sea is only a two minute walk from reception and 20 seconds from the lower apartments, but it is a rocky beach, no sand. there is also a cove-follow the path down to the beach, then turn left and keep walking until you comne to another hotel-its beautiful, you can see all sorts of fish and eel etc. A truly excellent visit both times, i wish i was there now! :(

Room Tip: as they are all apartment blocks of 8, there are 4 lower apartments and 4 upper, but if you are disa...

I would like to say that my wife and friend stayed at the pafian for 2 weeks, and was
very impressed with it.
The cleanliness of the rooms and hotel in general was brilliant.
If you are a family with young children,it would be ideal for you.
If you are a couple which dose not want children running about all the time, plyaying with water
pistols round the pool.
Will not suit you.
The food is brilliant we found no fault there.
Staff very good, and very friendly. We where there 9-5-2013-- 23-5-2013.

Room Tip: Faceing the sea. If you are a couple Faceing the pool if you are a family.

The hotel is very clean and the staff are really really friendly, good selection of food at meal times so there isn't anything bad to say really although... we were a little disappointed that we couldn't extend the room on the last day so having a 12 week old baby without a room for 7 hours on the hottest day we were there was not fun but the hotel was fully booked which is the risk u take with having a late flight. All in all yes we would return to this complex :-)

My wife and I just returned from this destination , upon arrival we thought well its a cheapie holliday for us as we booked it in the thomas cook january sale , so got it at a very good price . After reading some of the reviews on here we thought what the hell are going to find when we get there? well let me tell you honestly!! it was a sight to beleive , a great setting two mins walk down to the sea , no real beach just a rocky but superb foot paths to walk alon and very pleasant flat and easy. The check in was easy very freindly staff , coldnt do enough to help , we got to our appartment in block no4 we were lucky to get appartment no 45 , and end of terrace with balcony sea view and over looking the pool area ,great for peole watching and got the sun from 6.00 am till 4.30 pm everyday , it was hot never went below 27 degrees for the week we stayed , we only booked for a break but we got more than we expected , yes its a family orientated hlliday village but we went the week before this half term , and met people of our age in therir 50s and it was fun. The entertainment was more geared towards little children more than adults , with the kiddies mini disco taking preference every night for at least 45 minuets , great if you have small children , but again all the same stuff every night. during the day 10.00 am , we got "Welcome to Pafian park ladies and gentlermen you activities begin with your french boules over in the lawned area , aqua robics in the pool ,, power darts power pool , and lots of boom boom music , they did however play some frank sinatra and a medly of 60s songs for the last two days we were there which was bearable at first but got repetative . My wife and I went to take an all inclusive break from the daily grind of work , and some much needed sun , which I have to admit we did get.The food was good , a different theme every evening , great lunches although it was the same every day , there was always a choice which wasnt bad. breakfast well it was o.k. nothing special , The thing is we didnt expect a fantastic holliday for what we paid for it but we did get quite a good one. Would we go back there ? NO not uless they sort a no smoking area out in the restaurant area as we dont smoke but we had to endeavour the second hand fag smoke constantly in the bar area , and the outside eating area of the dining room , which to be honest wa absolutely awfull . we spent ost of our evening away from the bar and eating area due to this. And you have to pay 30 euros a week for a wifi connection which to me is criminal . Other than that dont expect 4 star I would say it is at best 3 star . Saying that it is clean and very tidy . The appartment was spotless , the pool area spotless. The food good. the drinks pretty good bearable.

Room Tip: Steer well clear of block 18 and 19 if want to go to bed early as the entertainment stage is directl...
