“Nice hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012

I stayed here with 3 friends in May 2012, I was a little worried as to what to expect as some of the reviews on Tripadvisor were not the greatest. I have to say that on arrival I was pleasantly surprised. The location of the hotel isn't the greatest, it's either a taxi or a long walk to any of the main areas in Limassol or the beach. The hotel itself is very clean and tidy. The rooms are comfortable, but our room had some timber-rot in the bathroom which needs to be addressed. The pool area is very nice, and service was good. The hotel does boast an indoor pool but this is very small, and we were charged to use the jacuzzi and the sauna. The airconditioning was working in the room when we stayed (17-20th May) and I was glad about this. The food in the hotel was very good at breakfast and lunch.

The hotel is a fair 4 star hotels good located in Lemessol.
I can not understand why the Internet is free in the lobby but with charge in the rooms.
Also a tip for the housekeeping , when you clean the room it would be good to look also the balcony , maybe the ashtray need to be cleaned.

I stayed in this hotel from 16 April until 5 may There are basically three points I would make which should be addressed as soon as possible
1 there is no air conditioning on until the end of may which is madness, the rooms are quite hot and at night they do not cool down enough to make for a pleasent nights sleep. You can open the patio door but the area is quite noisy the staff were not at all helpful in this respect
2 the hotel changed the evening meal from buffet to table d hote which is a rip off, 20 euro for 4mushrooms and a small piece of chicken, the meals worth about 5 euro
3.they have now started to charge for Internet in the rooms,do not pay this as the service is a load of rubbish,it's slow, fore ever freezes and the connection is non existent at times

Apart from those faults, I like the hotel and would use it again, but they must sort things out

I've stayed here at Ajax several times over the years and prefer it to eg Mediteranean becuase it is less noisy, at least during the week. HOwever on the weekend there is never ending cacophony of motor car horns, some realy really load. And it goes on and on and on - maybe football teams celebrating victory, etc, and the police seem non-shistent to stop it.

Also the hotel says it is fully renovated but frankly the rooms are very 2*, or at least the one I stayed at on the 4th floor, and judgig by the open doors on some other rooms they are in the same position. The bathroom is looking very dated with old style plumbing, and the drip drip drip of a water leak in the toilet cistern goes on when the motorbikes ad car horns finish.

You need to choose wisely, and if you want a lace by the sea then this may be too far for you to walk.

Room Tip: Swimming pool view is nice but noisy at the weekend with car horns, motor bike noises, and weddings...

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2012

I stay here very regularly with work, and am pretty happy to recommend it. It's classed as 4 star, some would say it's between 3&4 in reality.
I have found most of the staff to be helpful and friendly, (with a couple of exceptions)
The hotel location is a 10 minute walk from the sea front and away from the main shopping areas (you may consider that good or bad!!) so it's not ideal if you're wanting a beach holiday, but it is between the old and new town so both are accessable. (around 10 Euro in a taxi to each) You can get a bus (Number 33) which runs every 20 mins along the sea front the whole length, and 3 euro gets an all day ticket.

The hotel has always been smart and clean (I've stayed over 20 times in the last 2 yrs) the rooms are nothing special to be honest, but i find them perfectly clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water and good showers. Some are a little tired and could do with a refurbishment, but think 3 star quality and you'll be about right. They have small TV's with mainly greek/german/russian channels, but no DVD players so don't plan a night in with the TV!! The foyer area is very nice and ideal for relaxing or working/reading.

The main problem has been the internet rarely works in the rooms, only in the foyer if you're lucky, however, as i'm writing this whilst in the room, it seems to be working fine this week. They tell me they've put a new system in. We'll see if it lasts!!
Food is very good, breakfast is super, and bar meals are fine too.
The hotel is used mostly by business travellers, airlines, tour companys etc, so there are rarely children here, it's not really a family hotel, but no reason why not. I've rarely had noise problems apart from if there's a function on at the hotel, as these can go on till 1130pm.
There are a few reseraunts close by (Superb fish one just a few doors down, tucked away, you'll not notice it if you don't look- turn right out the door and walk 100metres max) Buffallo steak house is good, plus charcoal grill)

So it's 4.5 out of 5 really, if they have solved the internet problem it'll be a whole lot better.
Views from the rooms are poor, OK if you get a pool view (odd numbers after x06 are pool view) but otherwise there's no view, other than of local concrete flats.
I hope this is useful!

Room Tip: Go for a pool view (Odd numbers higher than 06 eg 207, 209 ect)

Stayed here for 1 week half board on a late deal holiday in october 2011. Couldnt fault a thing about the hotel or the staff. On our last nite we had a great female singer entertaining us but this was stopped because the residents in the flats over the road complained about the noise....would go back here again and again. Thank u for a lovely holiday and our parting gift of a lovely key ring.
