“Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

On arrival the hotel looked pretty nice, nothing amazing but once you enter you realize you are in a lovely place. Immediately we knew the service was going to be fantastic. We were greeted with a cold flannel, champagne and the news of an upgrade with a Jacuzzi on the balcony! We had booked a sea view for an extra payment and I would seriously recommend it.

The facilities at the hotel exceeded our expectations. Great for adults and couples but also great for families. There was an adults only pool as well as an adults only bar and restaurant if you want some quiet time as a couple. However for a family there were some excellent facilities, including a great family pool and children's area. The spa and gym are very impressive and you could not ask for more.

The room was lovely, the maid service was twice a day which was a nice touch and the bed was amazing, even the pillows were perfect for me!

We went Half Board and they let us swop some dinners for lunches so we could eat in some nights and explore on others. This was a nice touch and always good to know. The food was lovely, great quality and pretty good variation. The only issue I had was that after 1830hrs you could not wear shorts in the restaurant, this was unfair to me as my shorts were very smart and fashionable where as other people were allowed in with Tracksuit Bottoms and Sandals (hardly smart in my eyes). None the less they let us eat in the red room that was lovely.
It is quite an expensive resort to eat out, therefore i would probably recommend All Inclusive if you want to eat and drink lots.

The entertainment at the hotel was good fun, we were invited to a management BBQ with free food and drinks, this was good as we met some other nice people on holiday. There was a fire dancing show as well as magicians act and several other nights of music.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and resort if you want a nice relaxing stay with plenty to do around the hotel

Room Tip: You are only on holiday maybe once a year...go for the sea view and treat yourself to stunning views...

On the face of it, this is just another 4-5* hotel in the sun- the food is good to very good, the room had an excellent sea view- although, having asked for twin beds, I was a bit miffed to end up on a fairly comfortable convertible settee- and the amenities are typical of such places. There are two pools-one noisy-kids-one quiet-adults. The beach is a bit thin, but there's a good variety of water sports from it to keep one amused.
What really gave this place such a good rating was the staff. They are all extremely efficient and, more importantly, very good humoured-especially behind the bar. They all speak good English and enjoy a good joke.
All this is aided and abetted by the Russian guests and their long-legged v. attractive girlfriends, who allow themselves rather more liberties with alcohol than we do these days. This makes them tremendous fun-although sometimes a little overbearing.
The evening entertainments involves belly dancers, a magician who saws the Russian ladies in half, and others I've forgotten.
It is by some way the best hotel of its type we have stayed in, and we will be going back later this year-this time with car hire to explore some of the Classical remains which we only glimpsed on an excursion.
.

Room Tip: A room to the S. overlooks the sea.

We have just returned from a week at the excellent Atlantica Miramare Hotel. As a family with two teenage girls, we found that our every need was met. The staff are amazingly friendly and incredibly approachable without being invasive. Rooms were immaculately clean, with comfortable beds, and nice balconies, though I would recommend a sea view room. Food was delicious, with a fine, plentiful and variable choice and waiters and staff on hand should you need any specific requests. Plenty of teas, juices, coffees too, with staff ensuring that everything is topped up. My Husband wasn't feeling well one evening so the staff kindly arranged a platter and a fresh chilled drink to be taken up to our room which I thought was a kind personal touch. The entertainment was always up to scratch, including very impressive dancers, fire dancers and gymnasts. We enjoyed the disco after the entertainment had finished, though there were quieter bars and areas should you want a more peaceful or intimate evening. We loved the fact that there was an adult only pool, which was incredibly peaceful and immaculately clean, with staff close by should any children try and invade the pool! The complimentary BBQ for Thomson guests was superb. The setting in the beautiful gardens overlooking the sea, delicious food and a personal greeting from Andreas (the manager) and staff was a lovely touch. In summary, the hotel and staff absolutely made our holiday. We are a well travelled family who usually enjoy exploring and remaining independent on our trips, however, we rarely left the hotel during our holiday due to the fact that it had absolutely everything that we could possibly need and were made to feel so incredibly welcome and relaxed. Andrea, the Guest Relations rep, was absolutely great, attentive and congruent, ensuring that we were well catered for and looked after in every way. I would most definitely recommend this hotel, whether you are looking for a family break or an intimate peaceful holiday as a couple, this hotel is faultless.

Room Tip: Splash out for a top floor sea view room. Amazing view!

We originally booked to stay at the Atlantica Oasis, and were put in a block at the far end of the resort, we stayed there for a couple of days,, but with my walking difficulties I asked if it was possible to be transferred to a room in the main building. The next morning they offered us a room in the main building, or if we wanted they would upgrade us to the Miramare, which we accepted. They arranged a taxi to take us to the Miramare and everything was done to make us welcome. We enjoyed the rest of our stay very much and could not fault anything to do with the Hotel.

I want to start with the negatives as it won't take long, the only issue with this hotel is its location. Limassol is a working town so not built for tourists but it does have some bars and restaurants. This hotel had everything we needed for a great, relaxing holiday. Excellent staff who will do all the can to help (look out for Andrea the English rep for the hotel she is one of the reasons our holiday was so enjoyable. She looked after everyone individually and was always there to help). The staff where friendly and always trying to make you comfortable. The food was great and there was a great selection at each meal. The pool and hotel bar where relaxing and friendly. The rooms had all we needed. And on arrival a platter of food in our room was a great touch. Thompson guests are really looked after and the little touches like a BBQ for Thompson guests only was ideal. I will recommend this hotel to all.

If you like rude and surly bar staff, a bun fight for food every morning and evening, no crockery, milk or tea ta breakfast, kids in the adults-only pool, being asked to get out of the pool at 0800 (when it's supposed to open at 0800) and told it it doesn't open for another hour, dismissive receptionists and no real help or warmth from the rep then this is the place for you.

A week's holiday on a Thomson 'Platinum' package (as to what was Platinum, I have no idea) was not what I expected.

The safe broke in our room and the staff seemed to think it was our fault. The air con leaked. The staff kept taking our water out of the mini-bar. Sometimes the beds were turned down, sometimes they weren't.

Whilst these aren't major things, they just spoilt the holiday.

We arrived at the hotel around 10pm (All Inclusive for 7 days) - we were welcomed with a glass of champagne and a lovely platter of fresh meats, fruits and breads in our room.

As it was only the two of us on holiday this time - we decided against paying the additional costs for reserved seats on the Thomson flight, and we also decided against paying extra for the seaview room. Luckily enough - we were sat together on both the outbound and return flights - without having to ask - and we were allocated a huge beautiful room on the 4th floor overlooking the quiet adult pool and beach. It was beautiful and it really did make the holiday extra special to wake up to a gorgeous view of the sea each morning.

The hotel is immaculately clean - and unlike other destinations (Egypt in particular) the staff don't expect to be tipped and nor do they find silly excuses to knock on your door to try and get a tip! They do a brilliant job - I really couldn't fault the housekeeping at all.

The adult pool was wonderfully quiet and relaxing and although I felt a little sad for the excited kids that wanted to dive into the large pool - I was pleased to see the staff make sure that it was kept to 18 years and over. I'm wondering if it may have been better to have the swim up bar in the adult pool rather than the kids pool - although there is a great bar situated just behind it.

Bar staff were good; Tosos was brilliant and made that extra effort of remembering the drink you like after a long hot day in the sunshine - always had a smile on his face - and was happy to chat and socialise with guests sitting at the bar. Drinks are great, particularly the cocktails.

I'd read reviews saying that the hotel was in run down area - I found the area to be fine, with some nice shops and restaurants not far from the hotel. The only downside is the spray painted grafitti which seems to be all over Limassol - why vandalise such as beautiful place?

The only downside for us was the food - we found it very repetative and it tends to cater more towards Eastern European and Russian tastes. The breakfasts were ok - but we found ourselves walking out to coffee shops for a nice bite to eat most mornings. Lunches were ok, salads were lovely and fresh and the roast meats were nice. Desserts got better as the week went on and the managers BBQ that we were invited to was very nice - it's a shame they can't do more BBQ's. We did mention the food situ to the rep, just in passing, and the restaurant manager was very keen to try and cater to our tatses, which was a nice touch - but it did go a little too far after the 4th chat he had with us over 2 days.

We ventured out to a lovely restaurant just around the corner from the hotel called 'The Garden' it's absolutely beautiful - gorgeous decor, great staff and first class food. It really did make a nice change from the usual meat, pasta/rice dishes at the hotel - and it was well worth the additional £50 we spent - highly recommended!

The Thomson rep; Andrea was brilliant. She was friendly and approachable. She wasn't in your face trying to sell you things all the time and she had a really good knowledge of the area. I'd usually stay clear of the rep's on holiday - in fear of being badgered into scuba diving or mountain treks day in day out - but Andrea wasn't like that at all and it was lovely to have a friendly giggle and chat with her when we saw her.

Absolutely loved this holiday and would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The larger rooms with the seaview are gorgeous - quiet through the day, but on the evenings you do g...
