Elias Beach is still a lovely hotel in magnificent settings with good food, good rooms and very pleasant staff but since our last visit has swung to catering largely for weddings, so much so there was a wedding on every day of our stay, some Cypriot some British guests.
The Cypriot weddings were large affairs, the Brits less so but there were 2 parties of 50ish UK guests, one a family who took over one side of the pool and the other younger people who monopolised the other side, played their own music throughout the day and were generally noisy and took the fullest advantage of the all inclusive drink.
If the wedding party wanted any part of the hotel on the day of the wedding then other guests were denied access at the time. The blue paradise restaurant overlooking the sea was only open to us once in our week due to weddings, the entertainment room was closed to us one night and kids did not get their disco, our restaurant arrangements were changed one night and on one occasion the pool was cleared from 3pm and all guests required to leave it by 5pm as a huge cypriot wedding was using the area but we did get the noise.
The entertainment team was young and lacking in ideas and every day followed the same format.
We did have a good holiday but not as good as last year and sorry we won't be going back.
