“Lovely hotel, Relaxing Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2011

Arrival: On arrival at Paphos we were quickly transported to the coach by thompson rep, transfer took around an hour. On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by fresh orange juice and very happy and polite reception. This was appreciated after hours of travelling. Myself and my partner were escorted to Atlantica Gardens which is across the road from the main block, here we were given our keys and shown to our room.

First Impressions: When we arrived into our room, there was no self catering facilities, stange as we booked on self catering basis, not even a kettle. This disgruntled me a little, especially after a long day and we could not even make a drink. However the room was clean altough a little basic, there was a television with english channels. We went back down to reception to find out why we had not been given any self catering facilities, it turned out that the hotel had been overbooked, and we had been given a twin room instead. The hotel immediatly upgraded us to Half Board free of Charge, Result!!

Food: We were certainly pleased that we got upgraded when we realised on the first day just how good the food is here, so much choice. Breakfast there was a range of cereals, breads, pancakes, cooked breakfasts, eggs galore, continental, fruit nuts. Dinner times there was a different Roast Carvery Meat every night, Show cooking a different theme every night, Cyprus corner where they had a selection of local dishes. Big buffet serving lots of different meats, potatoes, chips, pasta, rice, too much to tell you, kiddies corner serving burgers, fishfingers, nuggets, chips, beans etc. A big salad bar with seafood, cheeses hams and a big cheese display, lovely deserts and icecream, pancakes, there was so much choice, any one could find something that they fancied or liked. The food was always hot and enjoyable. Men have to wear long trousers in the evening.

All inclusive options: There is an oppurtunity to upgrade at the hotel at a cost, whilst we were there we took full advantage and upgraded to all inclusive drinks at 20 euros a day each, this is well worth it as drinks can work out very expensive at the hotel. It cost 50 euros to upgrade from self catering to AI or 24 euros from half board to A1, we choose to upgrade to AI drinks only just because we wanted to get out and about during the day, but very reasonable price, cocktails, local beers including carlsberg and spirits, cocktails, all soft drinks, tea, coffee and icecreams included well worth it.

Local Area: Nags head pub opposite if you looking for a bit of a lively atmosphere, we had a couple of good nights here. The food looked very good, although we didnt eat here ourselves we see other people eating and it looked fabulous, big plates and value for money. Not too much around the area, beach was a little man made one and not very big, we did not bother. Apparantly there is better and bigger beachers a short bus ride away but we did not venture too far. There were other pubs and restuarants, tavernas in the area, however they all seemed a little expensive and a around ten min walk from hotel, all in all area seemed quiet. There is abus no 30 if you want to go into main town and visit the harbour for 2 euros a day. There are a few feral cats around the hotel, they didnt cause us a problem, but some people did not like them. There is also a bit of graffitti around, and a bit of rubbish but all in all did not spoil anything for us.

Hotel Entartainment: There is a ballroom downstairs in the hotel where a majority of the entairnainment took place, there is a kids disco, bingo every night offering good prize money, we won 170 euro which made our night. A show after bingo, although we did not usually stay for this as there is alot of young children in this part of the hotel, and we wanted a bit of peace and quiet. We spent most of our evenings in the Zeta bar(Adult only). There was usually a singer and it was quite nice and relaxing. Outside the zeta bar children are permitted and there is a big cinema screen showing a different movie every night, not our thing but a few people seemed to enjoy it, they also brought round free popcorn and crisps.

Pools: There are 5 pools at this hotel, one in the gardens with a pool bar, this seemed quiet. An indoor pool in main hotel which was also quiet great if you wanted a swim, which we took adantage of most days. There was a kiddies pool with a pirate ship and they all seemed to be having fun. The main pool had a variety of activities during the day, aqua aerobics, volleyball, basketball, music and it was all good fun. The only downfall is that people put there towels on sunbeds early in the morning, we came out first day at 8.00 and struggled to find a bed, thee is a hotel policy about removal of towels but this never seemed to happen. Cant beat em join em, Im sorry to say so we also came down around 7.30 before breakfast to get a spot as its the only way you could get a sunbed. The hotel shpuld really do something about this, a tad annoying when you see towels there half the day with no1 on them till afternoon time, very selfish. The pool areas where all very clean and spotless. They had free scuba diving lessons on 1 of the days we were there. The pool bar very quick and efficient, quickly learning our room number and what we were drinking.

All in all this was a fantastic holiday, relaxing and just what we needed. We would definatly go back to limmisol and to Atlantica Oasis. The staff were all so polite, well mannered and eager to help you. We would probably hire a car for a couple of days next time around to explore the surrounding areas as not huge amounts to do. On departure we were all given a good farewell with the manager coming down to say goodbye, a bottle of water and some sweets, nice touch. Well done Atlantica Oasis a fab hotel and we will be back some time in the future.

This was our final hotel in a 2 week north and south cyprus trip. The Hotel itself is a bit of a concrete jungle, and once inside it does smack of a 'family' hotel the restaraunt is a bit cafeteria like and theres no outside area to eat which is dissappointing. The room was fine decent bathroom and very tiny balcony, not a nice outlook but I dare say there are nicer rooms with better view. The pool is fantastic for families with great kids area. We booked as a couple and the saving grace was a small private area which was adults only with very nice pool with integrated spa jets, this ws lovely and quiet. The main feature of this hotel was the food, absolutely top notch, For a restauant this size it was unbelievable, quality and choice could not be bettered, huge range of different dishes every sitting, piping hot, several freashly cooked dishes, a special childrens area lower down for them, I cannot say enough about the food, I have been in many hotels throughout the world and have never found a better managed hotel restauant, all the types of food that British visitors like plus many specaility dishes all piping hot and well presented, anyone visiting with a family who are gong to be mainly hotel based would have no complaints. The entertainment was not bad on a couple of eves but the karyoke finished almost as soon as it had started and as it was hotel staff doing it could have easily continued for another hour especially as the bar was becoming quite lively, there was a karyoke bar just opposite the hotel so after the hotel entertainment was over we went across. The area that the hotel is in , is very quiet, it's a busy through road and theres not much going on, indeed we walked down the road and there was no one in any of the bars until midnight and even then pretty quiet.

Room Tip: ask for a pool view room as any other view is pretty dire

Think we must have stayed at the wrong place or just caught this hotel on the wrong 2 weeks arrived (25 Aug). The location is really bad and very expensvie. We actually hired a car and went to Aiya Nappa for four days to get away. Very little going on at the Hotel. Water aerobics in the morning then basket ball in the afternoon with Rick from the entertaionment team barking his orders for the small children to get out of the way and move !! One small boy was very upset by the way he was shouted at. No music and way to quiet for us.

Lots of choice on food but unfortunately most is luke warm or cold unless you catch them putting out a fresh dish. No microwave to heat the food and a very rude fat girl at one of the cooking stations who refuses to heat anything up.

There is no security at this hotel at all, not even a security guard at night. We saw lots of people coming into the hotel with their children to meet friends and without being questioned. they ate drunk and used the facitlities all the time without paying a penny and took sunbeds whilst the paying guests struggled to find a sunbed at all!! We reported this but again nothing was done. For the first week we had to get up at 5 am to get a sunbed although it was a little better on the second week. Entertainment is poor. Mr Universe consisted of men having to go and get a womens bra, drinking then running round a pole (one guy threw up on stage doing this) then making chicken and tarzan noises. Insulting to the intelligence and as my 10 year old daughter said "not even a four yoear old would find it funny).

If you have small children who are likely to swallow the swimming pool water BEWARE. Didnt see this pool cleaned properly in the whole 2 weeks we stayed there. The tiles in the pool are cacked in black mildew which comes aweay from the walls and into the water if you run your finger up them. We reported this to the hotel management, First Choice Reps and Thomas Cook reps, nothing was done and nobody was interested. the bottom of the pool and steps etc was covered in this mildew everyday.

Pool areas are filthy and not cleaned properly, our room had cofee stains on the floor for 5 days and balcony was never cleaned.

Saw one lady wrote what a wonderful beach this hotel has!! Sorry but that is absolute rubbish. There is a small postage stamp beach at the bottom of the road which is a few feet of black sand, if you want to see a decent beach hire a car and drive to Nissi Beach, or Golden Sands beach in Aiya Napa. Truly stunning just like the Caribbean and lively.

Do all inclusive hotels about 4 times a year but will def not be visiting this one again or this part of Cyprus again. Will add photos later

Returned from a very enjoyable 2 week holiday with my 12 year old and 10 year old. I always use Trip Advisor when booking a holiday, so I am leaving a review based on the information I look for when booking:
CLEANLINESS - Can't fault the hotel, spotless and rooms are cleaned to a very high standard. Restaurant also spotless. Never saw anybody cleaning the outdoor or indoor pool but this could be just bad timing. However, outdoor pool had a grim ring around it and there was lots of 'bits' floating by the end of the day.
FOOD - Amazing. So much choice, always hot, always plentiful. A choice of most meats and a fish and vegetarian options every mealtime. Fantastic salad selection available, lovely soups and numerous desserts to choose from. Freshly cooked selection every meal time, including pancakes for breakfast and lunch. Staff worked very hard. Drinks sometimes take a while to get to you, so if you are thirsty order a bottle of water with your drinks as that comes out straight away. NEVER go in the restaurant looking wet at lunchtime as they WILL NOT let you sit in the restaurant.
CAFE - Cake, sausage rolls, pastries and baguettes available on All Inclusive, all very nice. Cappuccino and Hot Chocolate very nice. If you want a bottle of water when around the pool get it from here as always lovely and cold, the bottles from the bar tend to be warm.
POOL AREA - Quite large although got busier towards the end of August which is the busiest period apparently. Wherever you sit you are not more than a few seconds walk to the bar. No grass areas for playing bat and ball or putting sunbeds if the decking busy, but it isn't a problem. Can get a little slippy on the surface by midday, especially around the pool edge. The adult pool was nice and very quiet, but from what I heard you also had to get up pretty early to get a sunbed here as they were VERY limited. Also, you had to walk around to the large pool to get a drink as the Zeta bar which is next to the adult pool is not open until 6pm, which seemed a little silly to me.
SUNBEDS - This is my biggest bug bare of the holiday. I DO NOT go on holiday to set my alarm. I was delighted to see in the hotel literature that sunbeds could not be reserved until 8am. Yet on our first day we got down at 8am to find every sunbed and parasol gone. I spoke to reception about it and they just shrugged and said there was nothing they could do. I spoke to other guests and was told that Ineeded to be down to the pool area by at least 7.30am to guarantee yourself a sunbed, if you want a parasol then even earlier. I decided to set my alarm for 6am so I could be back in my room by 6.15 and go back to sleep for a couple of hours. I have no idea what time other people were getting up, but for example at the beginning of my holiday at 6am I had my pick of the sunbeds and parasols, however, by the second week when I went down at 6am I was having to drag parasols over to where I wanted to be as so many beds and parasols had already been taken. Ridiculous! I just do not understand why the hotel refuse to police this situation, especially as they are stating it in their literature. If they sent a member of staff out to the pool at 7.50am every morning to collect the towels that had been put out, it would take a couple of days for guests to realise it is not worth putting their towels out until 8am. Yes, it might cause a free for all at 8am, and yes they might get shouted at when they take the towels, but if it is in their literature they have an obligation to police it, and at least if you knew you had until 8am to sleep without the fear of being without a bed for the day, it would make it a bit more enjoyable. We were going to buy a couple of lilo's and lay on those, but as there are no grass areas and the floor is so hot, we couldn't do this.
RESTAURANT - MEN MUST TAKE TROUSERS FOR DINNER. If you don't you will be expected to sit outside, the seating outside is limited so you may have to wait to be seated.
CINEMA - This had a great selection of films, the only problem is you had to be sitting very close the front to hear it, especially if the Zeta bar door was open and somebody was singing in there ! Also, there were people sitting outside drinking and chatting during the film (guilty as charged), and although we tried to whisper it was still very audiable. However, if you didn't want to be in the dark and dingy room downstairs and wanted to sit outside and have a drink, it was the only place to go, as the seating around the back of the Zeta bar was very limited, and children were not allowed in the Zeta bar.
ENTERTAINMENT - We were not impressed by the entertainment, but it might be because we have experienced so much better in the past. Although the team did work very hard, they obviously did not have a very imaginative co-ordinator or maybe not the budget to work with it. There were 2 magic shows whilst we were there, one by Rick the entertainment guy, which was actually better than the external magic man that came in. Other than that there was one night of Greek dancing and the rest of the evenings were either Men v Worman (which was funny), Kareoke or the 3 girls and Matt singing on an empty stage in a bit of glitter, their voices were good, but there is only so long you can or want to watch somebody standing on a stage singing. What didn't help is that they sang such old fashioned songs, westend songs, Tina Turner, Supremes etc. The kids don't want to see that, yet if they dressed up as the latest stars and sang more up to date songs, it would keep the kids a little more interested. The downside was also that the entertainment was held in a large conference room on the basement level, the bar got VERY busy and when you are in a lovely warm country you DONT WANT TO SIT INSIDE. We have to do that in the UK, we would rather not do it on holiday. So this is why we sat outside and annoyed the poor people watching the cinema.
BEDROOMS - This will vary depending on how many people are with you. But, I booked a family room for 4 and was told I would have a double room with bunk beds, I booked with Monarch. The hotel stopped having bunk beds in their rooms 2 years ago ! So, needless to say I was shocked to find a King Size bed and a VERY SMALL double sofa bed in the bedroom. My children are 12 and 10 and both quite well built for their ages, so I knew on first sight there was no way they were going to be able to sleep in the sofa bed for 2 weeks without injuring or killing each other. I asked reception if we could move to a larger room and was told it was the family room and the only other room available was a suite which would have cost us an additional EURO 700 for the 2 weeks. It was a lot of money but we knew it would assist us in a comfortable holiday, so agreed, but was then told there wasn't any available ! So we were offered a camp bed. We then had to ask them to remove the table and 2 chairs from our room, had to push the King Size bed to one side of the room, the sofa bed to the other and then slot the camp bed in between - needless to say this was very SNUG and we had to scooch to the end of the beds to get in and out... Not my idea of a comfortable family room. I have attached photos to prove how snug ! The TV is good with some good English channels to watch whilst getting ready, and the bathroom is sufficient for what you need. The balcony however is an absolute joke - I have never seen anything so small in my life, it barely fit a small round table and 2 chairs, so if you enjoy sitting out on the balcony, or getting ready out there with a drink etc. forget it. With 2 of us on it we were touching knees ! Photo attached. However, the family suites seemed to have much larger balconies, yes you are paying for it, but if it is something you enjoy having on holiday it would be worth it. The maids were fab and did a great job, if you want clean towels put your old ones in the bath.
DAY ENTERTAINMENT - This consisted of aqua aerobics, water basketball, volleyball, darts, football, bowls, table tennis. They did happen most days and there was a board inside that told you what time. The only problem was they did not announce it over the microphone, nor come around the pool shouting to you. So, unless you take a watch and monitor the time you do not know it is happening (unless of course you get a pool side bed).
LIFTS - rubbish and very small so if you can, take the stairs.
GYM - Sufficient equipment but absolutely NO air conditioning, so be prepared to sweat ! Made me burn more calories anyway, which was greatly needed.
AIR CON - This was quite poor, but there had been an explosion on the Island which effected the electric, so it was probably due to that. But nowhere in the hotel did we get the woosh of lovely cool air, not even in our room when we left it on all day !
STAFF - All very friendly and very helpful.
GAMES ROOM - This was a downside for us as we had a 10 year old boy and 13 year old girl. It had 5-6 computers with internet access, 1 EURO for 10 mins (I think). An Xbox game and a couple of racing car games. The Table Tennis was outside near the pool so not really suitable for children to play at night, plus it was dark and beneath a bedroom block. My daughter was VERY bored. They advertised a pool table but I did not see one. If hotels made a bit more effort to provide a games room with a couple of pool tables, table tennis, air hockey, foosball, basketball game, etc. it would give the children so much more to do of an evening, especially when there is not much else for them to do.
RUSSIANS - Yes there were quite a few Russians at the hotel, some were very rude, but then we met some rude English people too. So, live and let live.
BEACH - Not much in the way of beaches. The closest beach is a 5 min walk, but it is very small with grey sand and the water is quite murky. There were beaches further up to the left and right but these were not much better. We went to the Ayia Napa area last year, and were spoilt with Nissi Beach as there was golden sand and crystal water, great for snorkelling, so this year's beaches were a let down.
LOCAL AREA - closest shop is across the road, if you go to the end of the road and turn right (opposite way to Macdonalds) you will come across some nice restaurants and bars, English footie bar there, souvenir shops, Starbucks, Haagen Daz, KFC etc. If you get the bus and go towards the Marina there is Debenhams and other shops up there. Not much in the way of tobacco shops etc. which some people look for, that you would need to get at the airport.
All in all we had a really lovely holiday, we would not return because of the sunbed situation and because there is not enough to do for our children's ages. Also, we were not that keen on the area and like to have access to a nice beach if we want it. But if you have booked to come here, I am sure you will have a lovely time. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Room Tip: If there are 4 of you book the suite as it will give you more room and make your holiday more comfor...

I've just recently returned, having stayed for two weeks in a family room on an all inclusive basis. The food was fantastic; the staff were friendly and made us feel welcome and the childrens' kids club was excellent. During our stay, a member from our party celebrated their birthday - the cleaner notified reception (after seeing the birthday cards in the room) and arranged a fruit basket, bottle of wine and a birthday cake - amazing!

Only gripe is the sun beds - you have to be up super early to reserve your bed, which is pretty much the same wherever you stay!

We have recently returned from a fabulous holiday at this hotel. We stayed for two weeks
All we can say is that we would highly reccomend this hotel. We stayed here with our 9 year old daughter, it is a very child friendly hotel. The lagoon pool is fantastic, clean and safe. There are smaller pools for smaller children, also very good. Our room was overlooking the pool on a low floor, just what we wanted. The room was spacious, light and airy and very clean. The air conditioning unit was very efficient, kept the room cool.
The restaurants and bars were excellent, staff very friendly and helpful. The food was superb, so much choice. Our daughter enjoyed the kids section in the restaurant.
The entertainment team were just fabulous, so good with the kids. They all had so much energy and very proffessional. The shows they staged were great.
We were so impressed with this hotel. I guess the only downside is the location is not great, had to get around by bus, but they were fine, regular and cheap. The other downside was that you needed to be up early to reserve your sunbed, especially the sunbeds around the pool side. However, there were loads of sunbeds avaliable.
We went All inclusive on our package holiday with First Choice and we had a wonderful time. If you read this review, be assured that this hotel will do their utmost to make sure your enjoy your holiday.

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the pool, really lovely lagoon pool
